SPELLWEAVER: A game better than hearthstone in everyway
It's basically MTG but they've minimized mana-screw and mana flood.
After playing for 6 months I basically had a complete collections paying nothing.
Developer is quick to change cards when there is a problem in the meta.
When developers mess up, they actually compensate they players.
Cons: not on phone, not well known due to developers ineptitude at business/marketing.
Other games that have been mentioned.
POKEMON TCGO
While over all enjoyable it had the following deal breaking problems
Games literally decided by coin flips, coin flipping is prevalent throughout the game, and while much of it is inconsequential, there are cards that literally are "potential game winning effect" Vs "do nothing"
Destruction of energy(mana) with no restriction, These cards can be played for no cost, multiple times per turn, and as the game is full of cards that let you refill your hand even the fact you use a card is meaningless
Quest that depend on your opponent's deck list .
Elder Scrolls Legends
Overall a better gameplay idea that hearthstone, with less RNG cards and more generous rewards, unfortunately:
The game manages to be more RNG based that HS, this is due to two things. 1 despite having 50 card decks you only start with 3 cards, making finding your early game card inconsistent, match-ups vs aggro come down to starting hands about 80-90% of the time. This also affect ramp vs ramp matchups 2. One of game winning legendaries, control vs control more often than not comes down to who draws their haymaker first.
More of a grind. In addition to those one of super legendaries, there are other legendaiers which can be played 3 copies to a deck, and far outclass anything else you could put in the slot. So decks are far more expensive to complete.
Shadowverse
Tried it a while back and thought it was fun but bounced off due to the power level of the legendary/ultra-rare cards.
Gave it another chance recently and it was all OTK and face aggro (some of which also OTK'd). It was like playing a meta made up of pirates, deathspeaker hunter, original miracle rouge, secret paladin, and freeze mage.

Saying RNG isn't detracting from skill in hearthstone, won't convince anyone it's a good idea. It just shows your too stupid to understand the basics principles of good game design.
I tried Shadoverse, couldn't get into it. I tried Gwent, but didn't even like it in the Witcher 3 so didn't really get me going either. Hex I've just started since they made a PS4 version, not bad (except for weird sizing that goes outside my tv screen and I can't resize it). After reading so many people liking Eternal I just downloaded on my iphone to try. Also tried ESO legends and it didn't grab me either.
And then the stats shows that people that go first in gwent retain a 45% winrate, while players going second have 55%. While it's an advantage going second, your sentence is wrong and biased.
LOL, being called "wrong in biased" by someone who deliberately only quoted a portion of my statement, because if they had quoted the whole thing it would be apparent that they are wrong.

Your fault for making false statements and even bold them to throw dirt to another game. Don't cry because you get called on and owned by facts.
Dude the facts are in my original post, why don't you you try addressing them rather than ignoring them, though that might be hard for someone who can't distinguish laughing from crying.

I don't think there is any viable alternative at the present time. However, in a year Artifact will be released and that might actually be a very viable competitor. We'll just have to wait and see! ^^

Not sure ow polished the animations/combat is. One of the biggest reasons as to why HS is so successful over its competitors is because of the way it looks.

Yesterday I tried Hand of the Gods for the first time and it is funny also if it is in its very early phase.
I just started playing Hand of the Gods, really enjoying it so far. Only in beta right now so it has it's issues, but i think has potential.
Faeria and Eternal are much better games than Hearthstone! You should check them out, and enjoy deeper card games :)

Shadowverse - since you already tried it go for the 2 options below
TES Legends
Gwent
Stuff's here.
Eternal has the best game mechanics and f2p model
Elder Scrolls Legends is decent too
ive been playing both for over a year
also try Faeria, Star Crusade or Plants vs Zombies:Heroes
Nightblade Argent Lance Flame Imp
Argent Watchman Argent Squire Frost Giant
Aviana Hogger Snipe Sea Giant
is eternal the full name ?
Eternal Card Game is the full name, and Dire Wolf Digital makes the game.

Try not spending money
I got back into TES:L lately. My main gripe with this game is how beige it looks, otherwise it's pretty good and gives way more free stuff than HS.
Shadowverse is too weeaboo for my liking. As for Gwent - well, folks say it's fun, but there's no Mac or phone client, so I haven't played it yet.
