I reroll 60 quests if I have to play classes I don’t like. I don’t care about min maxing. I want the quests cleared fast. The 50 quests are actually better in terms of gold per minute.
The pack is worth more than 60 gold so you def aren't "losing value". Spoken like a true Hearthstoner tho
That’s not true here’s another example to illustrate.
imagine you and your twin sibling are each given a daily allowance for one dollar. your parents also have a rule that you can’t have more than three dollars at any given time. you and your twin each save up 3$ over 3 days and then go to the store. He buys two sodas for a dollar each and you buy just one, leaving him with one dollar and you have two. The next day your parents say hey you guys are such good kids here’s an extra dollar for each of you except since you have two dollars still left over you can only get one dollar but your twin gets both. Now he’s netted 5$ and you only got 4$
That example is just a bad one and does in no way translate to HS Quests
It’s not really about the actual value of 1$ but the expected value by being able to complete a quest.
The easiest way to explain I think is this: my daily quests update at 1 am. And my tavern brawl/ special quest rolls in at 10 am. So if I go to bed with 1 slot open, all 3 are full at 1 am. Now if I am up between 1 am and 10 am and clear a quest then the special quest appears in the open slot without a penalty. But if I didnt stay up and clear a slot the special quest takes up a slot anyway and I lose the chance to earn the daily quest it replaced.
You would think people focused on min-maxing would actually understand relative value. Unless you had a 100g quest replaced, you got a net benefit from the legendary quest push. Full stop. And you still get a free re-roll on one of your remaining quests!
Blizzard gives you free dust and you still complain. Jeez.

You have still failed to articulate how this is worse than there not being a special quest at all. If that didn't happen, you'd keep the first quest and nothing special would happen. You're really complaining about not getting your quests done in the morning so you didn't get bonus gold, but you still have just as many quests today as you would if there hadn't been a special event.
Just curious, but in what world is re-rolling a legendary quest a good idea?
People asked for this because “I feel forced to do single player content!”
Dumb request IMO, but Blizzard added the reroll probably because it took them 30 seconds to program it in with existing code so why not?
On topic more, I always keep one slot open. I rarely have to go out of my way to do this because if you have 3 50g quests normally at least one is completed by playing if you want to or not. Like the draw 20 cards or take 15 turns. Do X damage to an opponent, win 2 games, etc....
I try to keep one open in case IRL creeps up and I don’t have time to play for a day.
What makes anyone think Blizzard would ever do anything to make life even easier for free players?
This is absolutely not a problem worth coding around. It is, in fact, not a problem at all. Quest gold is nothing more than a trickle of free content. You, the player, do not get to dictate the rate at which it flows.
When you say you are being "punished" by this, psychologists might call that a mild form of persecutory delusion.

Il lost a 100 gold quest to this once So i always sit at 1 max quest to avoid losing out , and yes to the OP it sucks and the people saying you lost nothing in this thread cant do basic math

No you dont you get quest "milled" and lose it forever gone, nowt , nothing its basic math , the quest is puffed in smoke .
1. Always leave an extra slot. They are doing you a solid by giving you quests the day(s) you couldn't log in. For instance go inactive 2 days and the 3rd you will have 3 new quests pop (if you had an empty quest log).
2. IT IS A FREE QUEST. If you log in early enough you get your daily AND the event proc. This is straight free rewards Blizzard is giving you so don't complain.
3. Look at how the whole quest log is a 3 column 3 row kind of deal. Adding a random sidebar that procs when you have an event going is stupid. You get the event quest the moment a slot frees up anyway.
This is just laziness and greediness on your part to roll better quests. Roll the one you have everyday if it is less than 60, and if it's a 50 just complete it and try again tomorrow. You are gimping yourself in the future if you hold quests and go inactive for a few days because of vacation/holiday/unforeseen circumstances. What feels worse than getting the 50 is getting a quest log full of quests and then losing your daily because you kept a full row trying to get 10-50 more gold. You just gave up 50-100 being greedy...

He may have a job working nights, or long shifts, maybe as a fireman, policeman, doctor or nurse
that is a bit of ASSumption by you isn't it ?
No matter what your job is, it is up to YOU to budget your time. If you don't want to spend your time playing Hearthstone and completing quests, you do not have a god-given right to the rewards.

i'll agree with you i do the same thing but will occasionally get burned myself (not this time). but back in the old days it was worth it to reroll your quests because there were 40 gold quests once but now it really isn't worth it considering how many times i reroll back into a 50 gold quest again. rerolling had more value before x patch hit.
I honestly don't see the problem. A pack is worth more than 60 gold, and this particular quest takes less effort than other quests because you don't even have to win (or really play) to get the pack.
Unless you NEVER play casual/friendly/tournament/ladder matches, and only stick to arena and buying solo content with gold only (that part I do), there's no loss of value. And if you had 3 50-gold quests, you just got handed a free pack in lieu of completing two of those other quests.
This is a non-problem and you should consider reevaluating you attitude toward these quests. I get that you're technically "losing" a quest, but in return you're receiving a new one worth double what it replaced.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
Back in my day, quest rewards were mostly only 40 gold. None of this 50gold shenanigans nonsense quest. We did get the rare 60 gold quest back then, but they didn't pop up as much as today. There were no challenge a friend for 80 gold or murlocolypse for 100gold. What you all should be thankful is that you don't crack duplicate legendaries anymore, imagine if that was never added in there, you'd all be cracking endless Chef Nomis.
Just take a minute and thank the devs for taking hearthstone players out of the dark ages into an age where new players can actually starting building a collection(pool) of cards(tools).

Because Blizzard gets nothing from you having gold. The less gold you have the more real money you will spend.

1. You risk by not doing quests and fulling the spots for them. Sometimes you lose.
2. Be happy u get free stuff(packs).

You know, if you are being that greedy over 10 coins it is your fault.

You all realize that packs are equivalent to 100 gold right? Losing 50g or 60g by getting a pack instead and complaining about it is ass backwards.
Sheesh wow what an attitude BLOCKED
