budget decks will be your best shot at ladder for a while.  I wouldn’t worry too much about finishing above rank 5 for right now you’re already doing pretty well. learn to have fun with tavern brawl and arena for about the next year, build up your cards and by this time next year your standard collection will be as good as everyone else’s.

posted a message on For people who think Casual sucks...

I assume these people are farming for gold. If they put a 50g daily limit on casual mode it might calm them down a bit. I know it wouldn’t stop it all together but if you think about it, a limit like this reinforces the spirit of “casual” play. my biggest problem with the situation is players trying to min/max those aspects of a game don’t fit the definition of a “casual” player and they shouldn’t have to regularly face each other.  conceding games, while effective, is a cryptic solution which doesn’t really solve the underlying issue. Thats just abusing the system in a different way to counter the other abusers and  people that don’t care enough to find out about this, a.k.a. “casuals” aren’t invested enough to throw a bunch of matches just so they can get their 2-3 games in.

Cannot doesn’t work either. O well  I ended up just scanning my entire collection the old fashioned way. Built this weird warlock taunt/buff deck. It’s pretty awesome when it works

    Body snatchers

The pack is worth more than 60 gold so you def aren't "losing value". Spoken like a true Hearthstoner tho

That’s not true here’s another example to illustrate.

imagine you and your twin sibling are each given a daily allowance for one dollar.  your parents also have a rule that you can’t have more than three dollars at any given time.  you and your twin each save up 3$ over 3 days and then go to the store. He buys two sodas for a dollar each  and you buy just one, leaving him with one dollar and you have two.  The next day your parents say hey you guys are such good kids here’s an extra dollar for each of you except since you have two dollars still left over you can only get one dollar but your twin gets both. Now he’s netted 5$ and you only got 4$

That example is just a bad one and does in no way translate to HS Quests

It’s not really about the actual value of 1$ but the expected value by being able to complete a quest.

The easiest way to explain I think is this: my daily quests update at 1 am. And my tavern brawl/ special quest rolls in at 10 am. So if I go to bed with 1 slot open, all 3 are full at 1 am. Now if I am  up between 1 am and 10 am and clear a quest then the special quest appears in the open slot without a penalty. But if I didnt stay up and clear a slot the special quest takes up a slot anyway and I lose the chance to earn the daily quest it replaced.

10g per day is about 36 packs/year . for most players this is pretty significant

if you have three quests just do one of them, lol.  it's 10 gold difference which is like 4 dust from a normal 40 dust pack. Micromanaging it on that level is excessive and if you know you can be punished in this manner then it's possibly a net loss.

Trust me my day isn’t ruined by any of this but if I have a 50g quest for playing specific class how hard is it to just not play that class for a day? If it’s something unavoidable like kill minions I just do those

Even when packs = 100 gold, they now let you re-roll legendary quests. So what is the issue?

The fact I have to trade one of my 50g quests for the bonus quest if my spaces are full, but if I had an empty space then one of my quests isn’t taken away.
