todays free pack quest brings up an issue I’ve had with this game for awhile. I always try to get 60g minimum from my dailies, this means I keep most 50g quests so I can reroll the next day, I’ll only complete one if I’m full and need space for the next days quest. I assume other people do this too.
as you probably can guess, I had 3 spaces full today and one of them was replaced with the free quest. For some reason the slight drop in value by losing one of my quests bothers me a lot. It’s inconsistent considering they give you a free arena ticket when new expansions release, it implies they care about lost value/rewards.
It seems like a pretty easy fix at this point I have to assume blizzard is ok with punishing players that care about the value gained from quests in this way. until something changes Im just going to cut myself off at 2 quests and always keep a third open because it’s always a surprise and I’m sick of getting burned.
I hate the fact that sometimes you just get an extra slot for this special quests (like you can actually have 3 quests and receive this special ones) and sometimes they just replace one of the ones you have and you lose that gold.
There's nothing you can do to solve this, it's not like they tell you there's gonna be a special quest so you need 2 slots open for the next day, I got 2 quest yesterday so I didn't bother on completing them as there wasn't a problem there, and today when I logged in 2 hours ago I just had my 2 quests and then the special RoS one. Got punished hard and there was no way for me to know this would happen. And no, the "You could've completed your quests yesterday and not have this issue" argument isn't valid here, special quests shouldn't replace your regular ones.
Being a F2P player myself, I understand the frustration of losing even a single quest due to no fault of your own.
Now I always cut myself off at 2 quests and always keep 1 slot open, sometimes even 2 close to events.
Blizzard will just not give us additional features outside of new cards. Until they do, well they aren't getting an extra penny from me.

Even when packs = 100 gold, they now let you re-roll legendary quests. So what is the issue?
The issue is that this legendary quest replaced one of the actual regular ones.
Let's say you had 2 quests yesterday, when today started you got you new quest as everyday (so now you got a full tray) and the problem is that when the tavern brawl rolled in so did the legendary quest and as you had no place to get it, it just replaces the last quest you got, which means you actually loss that gold, even if you can re-roll it, you loss one quest just cause they hard push the legendary one into your game.

The fact I have to trade one of my 50g quests for the bonus quest if my spaces are full, but if I had an empty space then one of my quests isn’t taken away.
if you have three quests just do one of them, lol. it's 10 gold difference which is like 4 dust from a normal 40 dust pack. Micromanaging it on that level is excessive and if you know you can be punished in this manner then it's possibly a net loss.
The pack is worth more than 60 gold so you def aren't "losing value". Spoken like a true Hearthstoner tho
That’s not true here’s another example to illustrate.
imagine you and your twin sibling are each given a daily allowance for one dollar. your parents also have a rule that you can’t have more than three dollars at any given time. you and your twin each save up 3$ over 3 days and then go to the store. He buys two sodas for a dollar each and you buy just one, leaving him with one dollar and you have two. The next day your parents say hey you guys are such good kids here’s an extra dollar for each of you except since you have two dollars still left over you can only get one dollar but your twin gets both. Now he’s netted 5$ and you only got 4$

Trust me my day isn’t ruined by any of this but if I have a 50g quest for playing specific class how hard is it to just not play that class for a day? If it’s something unavoidable like kill minions I just do those
If you can reroll that quest, the worst you have done is lost a valuable quest and replaced it with a 50g one (or lost a reroll for the day). If you had all three slots incomplete, wouldn't you have lost one on the daily reset anyway? Unless I'm missing something I don't see what the problem is.

Again, can't you just reroll the new quest back into a normal one?
you had two -> you gained a third -> the third was overwritten -> you reroll the overwritten one back into a normal quest -> you have three.
How is this anything other than at worst a lost reroll or a 50g quest instead of a 60?

which nets you approx. a legendary over the course of a year.
however as these events are rather rare i don't really think its a loss within the bigger frame.
10g per day is about 36 packs/year . for most players this is pretty significant
This is assuming you are forced to do a 50g quest every day, which wouldn't be the case. But i'll concede that more gold is always better so do you're thing.

That example is just a bad one and does in no way translate to HS Quests. In the example given the kids get the same value each day. With the quest, you get different value each day.
Let's rewrite your example to be more accurate, shall we? Imagine you and your twin sibling are each given a daily chore that pays a certain amount of allowance when done. Some pay 50ct, some 60ct and some rare ones even pay $1. Your parents let both of you randomly draw one chore per day. You can choose to do the chore right away and get your allowance or you can choose to do it at a later time. Each day, one saved chore from previous days can be put back into the hat to redraw a new one, maybe giving you one that's more valuable. They also have a rule that you can’t have more than three chores at any given time.
You try to max your allowance, therefore you only do 50ct chores when you have to make space. Your brother doesn't care and does chores when he has time for it. One day, you and your twin each save up 3 chores over 3 days as you were doing other stuff the previous days. Then you decide to do some of the chores. He does two, you decide to only do one. The next day your parents say "Hey you guys are such good kids here’s an extra chore for each of you that's worth $1. However, the rule for maximum of three chores is still in place." You then have to put back one of your 50ct chores in order to receive the $1 chore. On this very day, your bonus chore is indeed giving you a loss of 50ct. Over the long run, being the geedy sibling and trying to max your profit, you probably didn't lose anything except for some freedom as you are constantly fussing about the chores and trying to micromanage this. Maybe you should just enjoy the fact that your parents give you an allowance and that they are willing to give extra bonuses from time to time.
I’m curious, how many of you that don’t understand where the value is lost play mech hunter?
I don't know how that is relevant, but just to satisfy your curiosity, I am currently playing a homebrew Priest Deathrattle Hakkar deck in Wild and Plot Twist Warlock in Standard. On top of that, I am trying to make the deck work that you can find in my signature.

That's really hard to read.
I mean this nicely but consider using line breaks and maybe normal case and punctuation :)

Meh. That’s why I do quests as they arrive. I rarely reroll unless I absolutely hate the quest. Can’t be punished if you always have 3 slots open.
Then again, I’m not F2P either. So maximizing dailies isn’t high on my to do list.
Grammar is the difference between knowing your crap, and knowing you’re crap.

The point of the thread is: Why is there no special quest slots for events??
