For me it is fun to take off meta decks into ranked, but it often gets incredibly boring facing the same few decks over and over again. I don't see how more or less playing the same matches repeatedly for hours each week can be that exciting for many players, but everyone has something different that floats their boat.
I agree with you, I also enjoy playing off meta decks.
E.g.: the most successful and also enjoyable was a Spiteful Control Warlock with only 2 Twistings as spells. It also has Kabal Trafficker and the Skull, it is a lot of fun and you face really rare and interesting situations because of the random demons.
I only play ranked mode since there's no point or incentive to play casual ; I meet the same things in both places. I'd even argue that in my personal experience casual was more competitive, perhaps some players bringing tier1 decks into casual to either quickly do their quests or players just finished building a meta deck and testing it out.
to me the question is really is the game fun for you, and the answer is 'a lot of the time, no', especially at year's end. I guess some people will discuss meta decks and similar topics to this to talk about their disatisfaction or lack of enjoyement, but I personally have accepted the fact that some people are not deckbuilders, are not interested in anything but piloting a deck, and play this game like a driver buying a car - why would they buy a crappy car when they can drive a better one?

Actually, I like facing meta decks, even when I'm playing off-meta decks myself. For one thing, I'm rewarded for having experience in the match and knowing their decklists. It's also much more satisfying to win knowing that the opponent was trying their hardest. My deckbulding goal is to make unique decks that hold up to the current meta. I can't test and refine if I'm not queuing into meta decks
The last time I played casual was a month ago and I eventually queued into someone trying to do their "play enrage minions" quest. It annoyed me beyond reason and reminded me why I don't play causal. I took my tiger druid to the ladder right after. I was playing to enjoy a real game, not spend 15 minutes helping someone finish their quest and 3.33 gold
I do, both standard and wild at the moment. I get the appeal of playing homebrews, but for me, a well established metagame is appealing because when I know what my opponent is trying to do, I get to make more informed counterplay. It's cool to play with or against weird decks, but I like figuring out different matchups by playing them repeatedly. When I know my opponent has duskbreaker or divine favor or spellbreaker in their deck I know what I need to do beat those cards, and figuring out how to negate an opponent's best cards or how to get an edge in a mirror match is fun to me.
I like that constructed decks are all some combination of fast, powerful, or flexible, and I like doing busted stuff with my cards. It's true that meta decks will play themselves in some games and you won't get an opportunity to make any relevant decisions (as the winner or the loser). That feels bad, but all that happens is you lose a star, and over enough games better players will win more games. Just queue up again and get your star back. I'm probably in the minority here but that's my reasoning.
Ranked modes have never been enjoyable for me, regardless of game. League of Legends, Overwatch, Hearthstone, etc.; they're all in the same boat. I have a mentality that dwells on failures and struggles to acknowledge success. I'm well aware of this; I'm not ignorant of my depression. Such a mentality often means I get frustrated during regular play, so heading into a mode where my wins and losses "count" only heightens the effect.

I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
I haven't played in a long time and came back to the game only a few days ago so I don't have enough cards.
From what I've seen through streams it's Just like when I left the game, it is fun the first matches but then gets incredibly boring and repetitive. It's better to stick to Tavern Brawl and Arena.
I play fun shit, sometimes I play ranked to see how warlock went out of hand and how people dont enjoy the game, people just play meta decks to win, not to enjoy it. I hate this meta. I have been around since beta and trust me, there was no more idiotic deck than the warlock's now. I hate ranked. I havent played very much since december because of it. I hope witchwood will make it different, otherwise I'm done.
I like arena but ranked is a close second. I can't stand casual. Only people there are daily questers who concede as soon as an unfavorable match starts or as soon as their quest is finished. Can't get a real game in casual. Very annoying.

I feel exactly the same. Its fun to me because I suspect most players complaining about meta-decks are the same playing meta-decks, and that people playing off meta-decks, who want to beat the meta, curse facing off meta decks like theirs.
I've come to a point where my MMR is so high on Wild casual I find more netdecks and Darwin Awards contenders there. In ranked, however, given how little I play it, I find less refined decks and worse players nowadays.

I enjoy it in waves. I found the meta before patches nerf more enjoyable then the current one. So I have changed to wild for the time being. I can't wait to see what the shake up with WW brings, hope that we see some big changes.

I think this makes a lot of sense, and I'd probably agree with it if I could afford to. I think the economy of HS is what gets in the way of many players enjoying this aspect of Ranked. We have good counter ideas, but only very few can ever afford to test dust at the current degree of its scarcity.

Standard sucks cause there are some meta decks i agree that wild has a meta too but more flexible than standard

I generally grind in all games anyway even single player ones. So yeah I enjoy it...

I play for a while then get massively bored and quit, then usually come back after a few months...
I can't really enjoy it after the demise of Tempo Rogue.
I feel too often that games are heavily decided by polarised matchups.
I play for fun and to get golden heroes, but without farming. I like to play strange decks, control ones are my favourite.
