Why the hell would aggro die? STB becoming a 3/1 is a joke, the problem was the damage and that's completely unchanges. You'll still lose at least 10hp by turn 2.
Not really; Shaman and Mage have 2 mana deal 1 to everything, Mages have 3 mana get a 2/2 deal 1 to everything, Rogues can coin/prep out Fan of Knives to kill them and draw a card, and just in general 1 damage is a lot easier to get than 2.
The Pirate deck won't be dead, but it will see a sharp decline.
If a 3/1 weren't so easy to kill you would see more shamans running cards like dust devil. STB will still have a place in pirate decks due to the synergy, but we won't see every class that has a weapon running the pirate package anymore.

Actually, the reason we never run Dust Devil is losing T2, not because it's a 3/1 :P
I think a weak expansion could be exactly what this new year needs, slow down the meta, let people experiment with whatever is available and try new things rather than them instantly printing out stuff like:

1. Shaman was always better then Warrior, so nothing gonna change.
2. Mage always was counter to Aggro decks, so nothing gonna change.
3. Rogue need to have exactly Prep+Fan, it's not really happen. And Rogue is losing everything in the next set.
But I agree, probably we'll see some decline in pirate decks.
Well, that too, but if you think about it, playing it on turn one is the same as playing a lighting bolt or coining into jade claws. You give up turn 2 to gain some sort of advantage. It's not like the extra closed mana crystal is going to carry over to turn 3, after all.
While I disagree on the year of the kraken. More over the cards rotating out of standard are some of the most influential cards in the life of this game, which is good because it reopens design space and we can all get our creative deck building juices going full speed.
I do feel the first expansion of YofM should have a new neutral mechanic this will really open things up and since it will be the smallest card pool since standard existed it really demands something special. The release schedule with quests and packs and new rogue is a good sign and equals total hype. I for one am excited for a refresh and new possibilities.

Dust Devil isn't played because it invalidates your turn2, which negates all tempo it can possibly give played on turn1 and removed by the enemy on 2. They're nowhere as close.
Mid-Jade Shaman Decks without either Tunnel Trogg, Totem Golem, or the Patches package are being successful right now. The only thing Shaman really loses is Spirit Claws.
The meta is going to be obnoxiously different come mammoth.
Isn't the hope that the meta will be different? Change keeps the game fresh.
Look at Kraken, the meta stayed tempo mage/shaman/control warrior
however, the way things are changed now and with the removal of certain things most decks in general do not work anymore at all. Fresh vs a completely different game now. My fear is that it'll feel like an even worse whispers of the old god where there weren't many good cards that came from it unless they synergize with old cards (which many are being taken out via hall of fame and the loss of blackrock + LOE)
I think Midrange/Jade Shaman is going to be still good.
it loses its early game and thunder bluff, not to mention some other nice tools.
With Jinja early game is not that important.
Thunder Bluff is not a card for Jade Shaman. You have value on board from jade cards, you should not play other value-generators.
Well in reality, what most of you are talking about and are naming incorrectly is that more of a Control jade shaman, more than a midrange one, is going to be dominant.
Heals, board clears, death rattles to come back with n'zoth, we aren't talking much midrange anymore unless it will be the first control/mid hybrid the game has had.
Mid range is literally playing on curve aggressively, but what you're talking is generally survival while playing jade cards then dropping a big ole n'zoth to bring back white eyes and aya and possibly new death rattles.
Wtf are you talking about?the only heals Shaman will have will be in wild.Everything is going away after rotation, aswell as his big board clear/big heal.Unless they give him control tools in the next expansion i dont see a controlish future for him.And this expansion other clashes have to arise.

Jinyu Waterspeaker and Hallazeal the Ascended will still be in standard. The only heal shaman is losing is Healing Wave. Jade shaman will probably be the only current big archetype remaining come next standard, because Shaman is losing almost all of its early game. So farewell aggro shaman.

Wow, two pages of pointless speculation. Perhaps wait until, I don't know, maybe they reveal some new cards.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
