I love the idea behind Tenebrus but can't vote for it because it seems too OP. The effect itself is worth 6 mana, so you are getting a 3/3 body for just 1 mana.
Overall this was a strange competition and quite difficult, since there was no proper reference point for evaluating the cards next to a general look and feel. Was this competition really about who can google the cutest skeleton? In many cases I cannot understand the reason for a card to be in the finals. I personally evaluate/appreciate card designs more from a mechanics/flavor perspective, so most probably this round was not meant for me. Good luck to the finalists nonetheless!
Hmm, how come no one from the first page (my self included ;) ) made it to the finals? I mean, my submission, Bwonsamdi had 47 votes, how in the world does that not make it to the finals! :O .... (crying in a corner....)

Each submission final score is calculated in accordance to the total number of votes on that specific page. So a card that has 50 votes on a page where all the other cards have ~40 votes, even if it has the most votes out of the bunch, it will lose a place in the finals to a card that has 15 votes on a page where all the others have ~3 votes. At least that is how i understand the voting calculation process
Yeah, i get that, naturally, there must be a calculation method to make it more fair for late submission :) Im just bamboozled that not a single page one entry made it through :O

Indeed the situation of the finalists this week is really awkward. The highest scoring finallist is Bones Fetcher from the 3rd page, which have 21 upvotes from the total of 75 upvotes for that page, giving him a score of 5.60 (all full pages have 20 entries, except the first one which have 19). For the lowest finalist score, Trick or Treat from the 2nd page, the submission has 19 upvotes out of the page's total 154, giving 2.47 score. (SCORE = (your submission's upvotes x number of submissions on that page) / total number of upvotes of that page)
Now, for the first page, the good submissions kinda killed one another. The top 5 submissions have 47 (yours), 44, 42, 42(mine), and 39 upvotes. This crowded larged numbers make the top submission, your hero card Bwonsamdi, scored only 2.02 (from 47 x 19 / 442), from owning 47 upvotes from the total of 442 first-page upvotes (10.6%), so your card didn't make it to the finals. Even though these 5 cards impressed a lot of people, they don't stand out as much as Trick or Treat that owned 12.3% of the 2nd page's upvotes. Just typing that sentence out makes me feel sad because even if your submission impressed 100% of the viewers to upvote it, it may not pass to the finals if many submissions on the same page as yours also have a lot of upvotes.
After this incident, more people will plan about submitting their card in a page where the other cards have only a few upvotes, like waiting for other people to post the first cards on a page. I think that is not a healthy thing to have in this card design community. Maybe this whole voting system for weekly CDCs have to be changed significanty to address this problem.

Having the 2nd highest amount of upvotes on the first page and not even having anybody from that page make it into the finals feels extremely unfair, not only to me, but to the other people with highly praised card designs on that page. I feel like this calculation system needs improvement to account for this. In my opinion, the current system makes it so the focus is on a competition within a page, as opposed to a competition between everybody's designs, and deters people from submitting designs on a certain page simply because there are other good designs on it.
I think the current system runs pretty well except for first page submissions. On the second page Lundy and I made it, and at least one other person (wubr) almost did.
The problem is that removing the system would make first page submissions ALWAYS win, which is probably worse.
Maybe there could be a specific equation for first page submissions that compares the first 20 to the average score of everyone else? Or randomize the order of each page so that people won't be deterred from early posts?

Edit: Don't you normally hide the results?
I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
I really like the flavor of bones fetcher, simple, effective and funny.
I also like the idea behind droghor.
All cards are good and some very inventive, but those two are my favorites !
Love the tribes.
I liked some concepts, but decided to vote for the cards that were not grossly overpowered.
I love the idea behind Tenebrus but can't vote for it because it seems too OP. The effect itself is worth 6 mana, so you are getting a 3/3 body for just 1 mana.
I knew my card was a tad too spooky for you guys!

Thank you everyone for voting my submission (Trick or Treat) into my first finals appearance! Good luck everyone!
