Sure it's a powerful 1 drop but was this even necessary? Aggro mage is one mages only top tier decks and now it basically done while druid didnt get anything balanced in standard. Disappointing nerfs, didnt go far enough
Less 1-mana win conditions = More joy in the world

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
While 1 mana snowballing cards are terrible for the game, I'd have preferred the Wyrm's HP go from 3 to 2 to make it more manageable.
Now they should nerf Tunnel Trogg in Wild ;)
i do agree that mana whyrm at 2 health or even 1 health for that matter would be a better nerf in my option, then making it 2 mana but i guess it's a fair cost for what it does at 2 mana.
As for tunnel Trogg, it's generaly harder to play overload cards then a spell card, but if some aggro or overload shaman ever takes over wild it might be looked at,
I'll still play 1 in wild tempo, with Luna you can build the deck to a lower curve and mana wyrm is still your best card for that strategy that's a minion. Could still be dead it's too early to tell.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
On one hand, this is a serious blow to most mage decks, and Mage was barely hanging on as is. On the other hand, the card is still fair. Here's hoping they give mage a decent 1-drop that doesn't interact with spells.
Personally I don’t like the nerf since mage is my favorite class but only blizzard can say what will get nerf... no matter do we like it or not.It seems like for now blizzard want to see less “only face” decks because of the championships in my personal view.
So does this mean Tempo Mage will be slower? I mean I like the fact they won't have the snowball potential from turn 1, but tbh most of the time I get cucked by that deck it isn't because of Mana Wyrm.
not really sure what to make of this, tbh i'm not that bothered as the mage decks I play (big spells mage, elemental mage) don't run mana wyrm anyway, but not sure whether nerfing the mana cost was the right call here, but what ya gonna do.

finally about time, no more broken 1 drop which snowballs.

Good riddance.
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
Good, fuck Mana Wyrm. Often, it would trade for a 4 or 5-drop, which is really stupid to say about a 1-drop.

At least blizzard has nerfed the right card (this only)
Leper Gnome
So long mana wyrm....king of the 1-drops.
RIP tempo mage - you were never a problem in the first place, but Tier 2 decks need a good nerfing apparently.
I am so happy right now. Maybe the nerf will make some of the Face Mages backoff from queueing up this deck.
Hell, it's about time.

Mage's classic set getting thinner every patch.
