Highlander decks are my absolute favorite thing about SoU. I had a blast with Reno pre-nerf, am having a blast with Brann, and I've been making weird things happen, from a buff highlander paladin to a highlander plot twist deck. It's been super fun playing around with the idea, but I've noticed that people playing highlander warrior and paladin run Octosari. I really want to try those lists, but I don't know if I feel comfortable spending the dust on a card with consistently lower played win rates than the deck's win rate. Why would you run a card that, on average, lowers your win rate when played? Is that hail mary draw really worth it?
Yeah. My issue is that I've seen Lynchen used in Quest Shamans and Phaoris being used in Quest Druids. I'm not a really big fan of the Malygoose list, so I might try the Phaoris/Nomi variation. Both cards are used in decks I want to play, but it just feels bad dropping 4800 in one sitting lolol
The ideal situation along with Siamat, yeah, but the deck runs so many good Battlecry cards that it's almost always playable. Neither card are absolutely vital but the value generation tips more games than Phaoris if I had to guess.
But the bigger reason, Barista is viable in any deck that aims for value and runs Battlecry cards. That's a lot more decks that run a ton of high cost spells.
Yeah, I've seen Quest Druid lists that use Phaoris alongside Chef Nomi and Overflow as an alternative win condition to Malygoose shenanigans. There's also that memey Paladin list running only Phaoris with a ton of spells that looks fun af lol. But on the flip side, there's been a bit more refinement in the way of Quest Shaman, and they're starting to use Lynchen too. I might just cave and craft both those cards lol fuck it.
So there's been a lot of different variations of mage in general, ranging from Secret Mage to Big Spell Mage to Reno Mage. I've really loved Highlander decks this expansion, and Mage is one of my favorite classes. I'm not really short on dust, but I've spent an irresponsible amount already, crafting things like Corrupt the Waters, Untapped Potential and Mogu Cultist.
I really wanna craft Reno Mage, but I've been hesitant to for 2 reasons: 1. I'm pretty sure Luna's Pocket Galaxy is gonna get nerfed and 2. I don't know what list to pick. I've seen people run King Phaoris but also there's a lot of people running Barista Lynchen instead.. So, I want to play Reno Mage, but after crafting Reno the Relicologist, should I craft Phaoris or Lynchen? I honestly can't decide which one is better. Pls help
So I really want to test out Luna's Pocket Galaxy, and also I just packed a golden Vereesa Windrunner.. So like, is Jepetto important here? I've seen spell hunter lists that don't have him and they do pretty well, but all Freeze Mage/Pocket Galaxy decks seem to include him so like do you guys think it's worth the craft?
How are you playing perfectly? The brawl sucked, sure, but you took unnecessary damage from Leokk when you could've hit it with your collider and then warpathed the bane down. Bad plays.
So I've always enjoyed control mages, and I always wanted to play old school freeze mage but I was f2p when it was popular and sort of missed my shot. In RoS, the two main control-y mage decks I've seen are conjurer priest with Khadgar and a much less popular freeze mage with just Kalecgos. Basically, I've seen most conjurer decks begin cutting Kalecgos for being too slow, but he's integral to freeze as that 0 mana pyro is too good. My question is, if I had to choose between one or the other, which one should I craft?
So I know that the new expansion is hitting in the next few weeks and that it's usually a smart idea to wait until then to begin crafting stuff, but I've played against a few Hakkar, the Soulflayer decks and honestly I love them. I usually play control so they're basically auto loses for me, but Hakkar Warrior or Paladin (especially Paladin) are actually pretty cool imo. I have around 4k dust, but I plan to disenchant all of my Mammoth cards bc I don't care for wild. Countess Ashmore has also seen more play recently, and I have a few meme decks it could slot into. Basically just wanted to know if you guys thought either card was worth crafting now, with the notion that once the rotation hit I would not be hurting for dust.
Now that Giggling Inventor is dead, what is the tech card of choice? Mossy Horror was predominantly used as a counter to the stupid annoyotrons... So what now? I was thinking Skulking Geist but I wanted to get y'all's opinion.
Does anyone know the specific time the nerfs are supposed to go live? I haven't played since they were announced because I didn't want to face a legion of Tempo Mage and quest rogues, but like.. It's the 18th lol. I want this shit to go live.
If you don't have Kathrena Winterwisp or King Krush you can just play the mech version that runs Mechanical Whelps. It's not as strong, but it's definitely a solid list. The beast version has more burst and also big ass taunts with Witchwood Grizzly but you can actually fight for board a bit better with the mech version in the early game. Fireworks Tech on Spider Bomb is solid ass tempo.
So does this mean Tempo Mage will be slower? I mean I like the fact they won't have the snowball potential from turn 1, but tbh most of the time I get cucked by that deck it isn't because of Mana Wyrm.

I switched out the Travelling Healer duo for two Lifedrinkers since they fit better with the burn strategy. It's worked out quite well for me so far.

Is Harrison Jones necessary? Or can I just play Gluttonous Ooze instead?
