I looked at the most recent VS report and the decks most positively affected by the nerf to Aluneth Mage and Quest Rogue are almost entirely control/combo. So...it's a good day to be a control/combo player.

Nooooooo... They destroyed my beautiful Mana Wyrm!!! Tempo Mage was the first deck I hitted legend with a long time ago. Why Blizzard??? Why??? :( :( :(
I remember banging my head against the wall trying to make any minion based mage deck work in vanilla. It was impossible. Mana Wyrm was never a problematic card, but rather gained power from other cards.
Explosive Runes and Arcanologist are in a completely different powerlevel! What on earth do they have in mind for mage now?
Remember it is a 1-drop, that is a very bad draw from turn 3 and onwards.

Yeah, most of us agree that Mana Wyrm needed a slapping. But as others have observed, this leaves them with virtually zero viable 1-drops with any synergy at all.
Going from 1 to 2 mana wasn't the right answer, IMO. Dropping it from 3 to 2 health would have left it manageable, and left the card largely intact. There's a whoooole lot more trading/removal options at 2 vs. 3, but done is done. We'll still see Wyrm, just nowhere near as much. Or, Even Mage will finally rise. We'll see.

but I agree.. I don't know why they nerfed specifically mana wyrm now.. it's an unfair card yes.. but it's pne of the core cards of tempo mage.. which just doesn't have many good minions otherwise..
While 1 mana snowballing cards are terrible for the game, I'd have preferred the Wyrm's HP go from 3 to 2 to make it more manageable.
Now they should nerf Tunnel Trogg in Wild ;)
Trogg is no problem in Wild at the moment, because you only see control Shamans (with Shudderwock and maybe plus Reno) or Even Shamans there and both don't play the Trogg.
Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.

I'm glad they finally nerfed mana wyrm. It sucks that it hurts only lower tier decks, but a broken card only used in lower tier decks is still a broken card, and I don't think waiting until a broken card breaks the meta to fix it would be the right way to approach things.

I disagree. Plenty of aggro decks have been viable without having broken 1 drops.

Viable after a nerf when they weren't even Tier 1 to begin with? Tempo mage was a middling Tier 2 deck and now it's dead.
