preparation is a thing.and sometimes spiders don't come out at right time/too late and after 1 mana maly/UI/shudder/obsidian etc etc i think its safe to say it would be worth it.
Wow... Very excited for playing with rogue during the release of this new expansion, I guess Valeera is going to be my next golden portrait without any doubt. :D :D :D
We can't afford this card to be that good, it's RNG factor is off the charts. It'll be fun and I look forward to playing with it, but it better not be competitive.
- I don't think that something on earth can remove Tyrantus on turn 2, mr. Hearthstone. I'm sorry. The ladder will die first. Then the tournaments and any sort of the competetive gaming. Eventually, all your modes will become unplayble random sh*t.
- How long i last, doc?
- About a year and a half. The operation to remove the tumor is scheduled for the spring of 2020.

????????? most decks don't run tyrantus so it can't not to mention smart players wont do it on turn 2 and the odds of getting turn 2 tyrantus or on UI is like 1/35... its probably a turn 7+ realistically
The ratings are more surprising than the card :) I take a 4/4 with three spiders (that leave the consistency of my deck intact) in my deck over this anytime...
I'm surprised how many ratings are giving this meta-defining.
It's not a "value" spell, it adds no cards to your hand. The cards it adds to your deck you're drawing instead of the cards you put in your deck. The reason Fal'dorei Strider is so good is because it puts a body into play immediately, and the later minions are truly free, costing no cards, no mana. These will cost both a card and a mana, and puts nothing into play the turn you play it.
This is, paradoxically, a "tempo" card: its primary benefit is that it gives you massive mana discounts (potentially...) on the cards it shuffles in. But it is a tempo card that does nothing the turn its played, you have to wait till later to get the benefit. Not something you usually want on a tempo card.
Sure, it wins you fatigue games, but rogue already have tools to win fatigue games. You want a rogue that can go to fatigue you'll play Kingsbane rogue.
Edit: First of all because you don't pay 4 for nothing, second because the spiders don't block your draw.
Depends what your objetive is. You could get OP Death knights from your opponents and good spells for cheap. This is not for miracle but for a control burgle rogue that wants to play a big Tess Greymane
I know, but you need some pretty good draw to make that worth it. Up until now burgle cards have all been added to your hand, this being added to your deck instead makes a huge difference.
The ratings are more surprising than the card :) I take a 4/4 with three spiders (that leave the consistency of my deck intact) in my deck over this anytime...
Ill play it for some funzies though...
Draw your entire deck, play Prep + this card, backstab/eviscerate/sap to remove opponent minion and get 10 random card cost 1, next turn play Sprint and get 4 cards costing 1, can be a paladin crap secret or a Tirion, you can play 3 of this cards in the same turn.
Oh crap, this plan don't work, the legendary spell burn all academic cards? What I can do now? Simple, in the next turn play Elise and the new 3/2 minion and put 3 more Elises + 3 packs into your deck and get almost infinite value from them.
Plus, you have an insane Tess turn for last resource.
I can only see insane aggro being a problem or maybe Shudder if your setup was very slow, but we talking about spells costing 4 and 5 in a deck with x2 Preaparation, most of the time this deck will be more faster than shaman.
Its like a Renounce Darkness on steroids that doesnt screw up your whole game plan. "4 mana do nothing" is pretty bad, even with Preparation.
My prediction is this will be a meme card in standard, and it could be quite good in wild.
My other prediction is that Im gonna play this in standard on day 1.
Except the 4 mana do nothing kinda gets made up for by the subsequent turns of 1 mana do something worth 6+ mana.
Its true that you CAN get your mana back later, but it will be a lot later and its also RNG. You can get already cheap cards or useless cards from it. Rogue is not a class that can afford dead turns like warrior does.
4 mana do nothing is not the same as a dead turn. Especially for Rogue. You said it's not even that great with prep, 1 mana for this effect is pretty insane for rogue! I mean you can prep, play this, sprint and STILL play two of the cards you just stuck in your deck. That is hardly a dead turn.
I dunno man I think this is really good. I'll be playing it too. It's definitely one of those I'll need to get my hands on to be certain about.
If you play it with Prep, you spend 2 cards for it. It also means that you have 1 less Prep for stuff like Sprint.
I know that 4 mana is not a whole turn, but you want to hold your cards to maybe draw into maybe good discounted cards? I wouldnt call this insane.
I doubt I'd want to play this on turn one with a prep. I'd probably play it after playing unstable element and then start mixing in some more stuff with lab recruiter.
I mean I have no idea what I'm going to do with it yet, and the more awesome options they keep adding for rogue this expansion, the more my head melts.
Ha ha, no doubt I will make some sub-optimal, crazy "johnny" deck and then watch the pro's and get advice from them :D
Slightly off-topic, but I have to respond to this. This reminded me to the first day of KnC, when I tried to build my own homebrew OTK lock deck that used only Doomguards as demons and I have tried to resurrect 6 of them with Guldan for 30 damage. It worked sometimes, it was fun, but it felt a bit too clunky. 1 week later the community came up with the refined list of cubelock. That was at the time when most people said that the Skull is a "dust it" card at the prediction threads. :)
On-topic: I still think its a meme card, and there will be better useage of the rogue legendary spell, but I like what Blizz does with rouge (and priest) in this expansion.
I remember cubelock in it's infancy where we were only using cubes on the doomguards to bring them back with Gul'dan. Then dark pact was introduced. After this someone realized the umbra angle.
I think around the same time someone was fusing this with handlock and the Giants and faceless joined the party.
After this someone realized that prince taldaram was great to copy cubes that could be popped easier.
Yeah dude. that Deck became an utter beast and people are still making innovations with it now.
I got a bit annoyed over cubelock becoming so popular because of all the streamers playing it... thing is a lot of people couldn't play it very well so it handed out free wins. It still ruined the deck for me though, as I played it for the reactions of my opponent when I did something crazy (and it was still unknown) as soon as it became "flavour of the month" that was no longer the case and I shelved it.
So yeah, I'm hoping to be involved in the birth of some insane rogue decks this time around. Then I will get salty when the OP one becomes a meta deck. ha ha.

Tess Greymane decks are now decent

Fun card. It doesn't look very competitive to me. Pretty big tempo loss and you could suffer pretty badly with your draw. (yay, got an innervate!)
Can be bonkers though, so play for the lulz.

- Hello, mr. Hearthstone.
- Hello, Doctor. So, how am I?
- We have bad news. We found you have cancer.
- What, but how? Where? What a cancer?
- Rogue cancer... The cancer is in the "Academic Espionage" area.
- Is this dangerous? I'm gonna die?
- We dont know. We assume after August 5 you can have some bad feeling. For exsample Turn 1 Preparation into Academic Espionage. After that you can find some Tyrantus and Ultimate Infestation on turn 2.
- Can you remove it?
- I don't think that something on earth can remove Tyrantus on turn 2, mr. Hearthstone. I'm sorry. The ladder will die first. Then the tournaments and any sort of the competetive gaming. Eventually, all your modes will become unplayble random sh*t.

My reaction when finally see a class card for burgle rogue is not a pile of dog shit:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=056716eHepk
So THIS is why they wanted to nerf Tess Greymane...
They can nerf her now and give full dust refunds. No one is going to dust her now.

Here comes the RNG thievy stuff....
The ratings are more surprising than the card :)

Damn, and I thought they were done giving burgle Rogue support.
I'm surprised how many ratings are giving this meta-defining.

We can dream of 1 mana Ultimate Infestations, sure, but the reality is that 1 mana Innervate is just as likely.
This might be a fun card, but I think it is a weak card.
Although the biggest problem of the archetype, (Cutelass and Tess being useless in mirror matches), was still not addressed.
I know, but you need some pretty good draw to make that worth it. Up until now burgle cards have all been added to your hand, this being added to your deck instead makes a huge difference.
So what? This card will suffle card from your opponent's CLASS, not deck. This can be any card. Include Tyrantus.

why does it auto pick meta defining for me when i first open the page? i never understood that. at least let me pick before deciding for me.
