Doesn't seem like cubelocks will change their deck much even with the nerfs they got. Cube left unscathed, and lackey into pact into void/doomguard is still very possible, just one turn later and 4 heal less. Will be interesting if Cubelock reclaims there seat as the top meta deck with even paly getting nerfed with CtA
IDK how Voidcaller survived without nerf or people asking for it, I guess during those times there were batshit a lot of broken cards, so no one cared. Lackey in reality is a really weak card, would not see any play if not Voidlord, but thanks to Voidlord and Dark Pact it sees play, now it got even worse.
Voidcaller didn't have a Voidlord to pull out. Demons were generally weak at the time. Also, pulling from your hand is a lot worse than pulling from your deck.
And a card is as strong as the cards that support it. Lackey back in the day would probably not be played (there wasn't any strong demon past 4 mana except for Mal'Ganis I believe). It's only strong now because of cube, Voidlord, Gul'dan DK and other shenanigans you can pull off around it.

There was just one good high cost demon back then. Mal'Ganis. Also that demon was easily killed by any removal, usually Big Game Hunter, which was 3 mana back then and played in almost every deck.
this is a fine nerf on its own, but really brutal in conjunction with the unneeded pact nerf. as others have said, this hurts control lock wayyyyyyy more than cubelock.
This seems like a fair nerf to me. As a renolock player in wild lately, I've been using lackey, and while the nerf hurts the deck a bit, I don't think it hurts it enough that I'll be removing the lackey from the deck, and that's the sign of a balanced nerf on a card that needed it. (unlike dark pact, which will be removed from my deck once the nerfs are live)
Will this really affect Cubelock? Skull into Doomguard into Cube/Pact or Faceless for 10/15 damage (and then putting 2-3 doomguards into the pool) was the broken thing.
Spiteful Summoner as a 6 mana 4/4 when it does nothing is already terrible, imagine a 6 mana 2/2. They probably should've made it a 4/2 or at least a 3/2 when you draw it when you don't need it anymore.
The Cube burst and shenanigans are pretty much intact. If anything, this might affect Control Warlock more, which had far more weaknesses than Cube.
It looks a lot better now. Giving you the chance to build your board and prepare for turn 7 Voidlord is great. Not to mention the possibility of your opponent drawing at least one Voidlord by the time he manages to play the Lackey and Dark Pact or whatever.
I think Cubelock will continue to use Possessed Lackey, Control Warlock will probably replace it altogether. It always felt kind of iffy having 2 Lackeys for 2 demons, turning the Lackey into a vanilla 5 mana 2/2 if you draw one of your Voidlords.
Control Warlock will probably use Despicable Dreadlord instead, still giving Aggro an AOE nightmare. Plus it's always nice bring back two of those with DK Gul'dan for 2 damage AOE.
Voidlord will possibly still be played without Lackeys. Renolock in Wild uses it without Lackey (although sometimes they'll manage to bring it out with Voidcaller).
Well, I 2 cards I really enjoying playing got hit & 1 I play sometimes. We shall see. Even if I wasn’t playing the 3 cards l enjoy playing, didn’t think it was that big of deal to be nerfed. Oh well, adapt & move on. PEACE
The nerfs to warlock kind of trigger me. Not because I don't think they are necessary but the changes to BOTH darc pact and Possessed Lackey at least imply that they are not happy with the powerlevel of the deck. The reason this upsets me is that its been many month since those cards where released in KaK and I simply dont believe that this was not visible in their data before.
I am already theory crafting a control warlock without the lacky+pact package. It was barely worth running pre nerf. Adding more taunts is much better than a 6 mana 2/2. Also Oakheart might be an option as it's a smaller N'zoth, cheating out 3 minions+5/5 body.
Aggro Mage is the biggest winner of these nerfs. Gul'dan is still such a bonkers Death Knight, he will take care of the slower match-ups but Mage now can more easily kill Warlock before turn 10.
Just run shroom brewers and rotten applebaums as well as the 2/3 beetles. Blizz should have nerfed the DK to 2 damage.

There's soooooooo many better 6 drops than lacky in wild. Also without lacky, you can run some small demons, such as imp gang boss and voidcaller. Shame renolock stopped working in 2018 because of nagalock and the hyper aggro meta.
A fairly straightforward nerf. Giving Warlocks an extra turn to bring out their Voidlord gives their opponents more time to ready themselves for it, or to kill the Warlock before they can use it.
I've always thought cheating demons out is a cool idea, given how destructive the demon battlecries are. Now that they chose to nerf lackey instead of voidlord, the mid-range style demon cheating deck could never be a thing until they get rotated out.

this and the dark pact nerf are god sends for aggro mid players. Mayb we can play hunter now? (ha ha)
Stupid nerfs. Cubelock was the problem (cube, doomguard, weapon). Not control warlock.

Things are looking good :)

Seems like a solid nerf
It should be 6 mana 1/4. The nerf is not good enough.
I will crush you!

won't really cause changes in the meta
