New year, new cards. What could be better than that? Well, how about doing a final salute to the old cards that entertained us, made us happy and salty and, above all, shaped part of the game these last two years.
Now, I’ll be going through all the cards I had from the Year of the Kraken and reveal, in the eyes of a mediocre player, the ones I’ll miss the most, either because I enjoyed playing with them or I just liked what they did. I’ll put the spoiler tag on them, so that you don’t have to scroll so much if you just go the TL;DR route.
Whispers of the Old Gods - All of it. Period. It was my favorite expansion but here are the special mentions:
C'Thun: I really like C'Thun. I really like the C'Thun buffers. I think the idea behind the archetype was mostly to introduce a semi ladder viable archetype for new players and no other archetype did that with the success of C’thun. Plus, I played Dead Man's Hand C’Thun Warrior in the KFT meta and it was surprisingly effective back then (maybe I’ll revisit the deck before it finally goes to wild).
N'Zoth, the Corruptor: Perhaps my second favorite card in ALL of hearthstone (behind Bomb Lobber), N’Zoth was my go to card to make decks around for most of these two years.
Corrupted Healbot: I’ve been playing a Healbot OTK Priest these last few days. The deck feels almost viable, especially when you consider the sheer amount of AoE it has to deal with the rise of Dude/Murloc Pally.
Bog Creeper: Ah, Bog Champ, you brought me so much joy and frustration in arena. You’re definitely the epitome of what a really good arena card is without being absurdly broken.
Feral Rage: I like the design of this card. A semi viable answer to a small minion or a semi viable longevity card, this card is really what the Choose One mechanic should be about in Druid: versatility that isn’t down right broken.
On the Hunt: A staple in my Gahz'rilla OTK deck in wild. Then again I’ve only used this card in wild, so it will be right at home when the new expansion arrives.
Ragnaros, Lightlord: Simply because “LIVE, INSECT!” is one of my favorite lines in Hearthstone. And because it’s a really cool late game card.
Embrace the Shadow: Another staple in my Healbot OTK Priest. And probably a staple on other OTK Priest decks I never tried out.
Evolve: The evolve mechanic is one I enjoy. Plain and simple. Sure, it was kinda busted the last year, but I enjoyed it regardless.
One Night in Karazhan - There were some cards in this expansion I enjoyed, like Cat Trick or Priest of the Feast, but overall this expansion felt pretty lackluster. Still, these two need the special mention.
Arcane Giant: Pretty much a staple in every spell heavy deck I’ve played, like Lock and Load Hunter, Miracle Rogue and, more recently, Miracle Giants Druid.
The Curator: Perhaps the only really cool mechanic that came into play from the Karazhan expansion was the multiple tribe mechanic. Sure it sucked overall, but The Curator was good.
Mean Streets of Gadgetzan – Ah, MSG, hailed by a lot of people as the worst expansion of all time, you were indeed kind of unbalanced. Still, you did bring some cool stuff like Hand-buff Pally, which I really enjoyed. Shame the overall feel was that the powerful stuff you brought to the table was just too OP, because you did bring a lot of cool gems that I’ll really miss:
Mistress of Mixtures: The anti-aggro pseudo Zombie Chow was indeed a reasonably well designed card. It sucked for what it wanted to do because having 2 HP instead of 3 the Naxxramas counterpart had is a huge difference, but your ideals pre Control/Cube-lock were indeed outstanding and even today they are kinda nice.
Friendly Bartender: I just enjoyed him saying “Don’t forget to tip your Tauren” when it came out. And I guess Blizzard probably tried it out restoring 2 HP instead of 1 and deemed it too powerful changing it to what it is today, which is a shame.
Doppelgangster: A lot of it because of the Hand-buff stuff. A bit because of the Evolve stuff.
Dirty Rat: Sure wish Blizzard designed more cards like him or Deathlord (ie, cards that interact with your opponent’s gameplan).
Mayor Noggenfogger: I’ll miss you and your effect. Won’t miss opening two copies of you, though.
Jade Idol: I won’t be so much missing so much what you did (though I did enjoy your effect on the Miracle Giants Druid deck), but the fact that you took the shot as the most broken OP piece of crap when Jade Blossom was around (Big Druid runs 2 Jade Blossoms. For 3 mana, you ramp 2 different things on 1 card, accelerating your game plan so much. Too me, it was much more infuriating when facing Jade Druid than their ability to go infinite).
Alleycat: You are cuter than Tabbycat, no matter what everyone says.
Getaway Kodo: My favorite Paladin secret, a true hard to master value card. I enjoy those.
Raza the Chained: Shout out to how cool, yet not broken effect before DK Anduin was a thing.
Jade Shuriken & Jade Swarmer: God, your archetype sucked. I had fun with it, but boy it was so bad compared to the other Jade classes.
Lotus Assassin: A really cool effect that would be pretty busted in another class.
Jinyu Waterspeaker: Not much to say about it, I just liked what the card did.
Sleep with the Fishes:It just goes to show you how busted the expansion was when an otherwise insane card kind of went off the radar in the “OMG IT’S SO BROKEN PLS NERF BLIZZ REEEEEEEEEEEE” scale.
Yeah, these were my favorite cards to play with in these last two years and the ones I'll miss the most when they do bid us farewell. But what were yours? And what cards did you just not like at all?
I play all classes and all archetypes (maybe not aggro, I suck with it), as evidenced by my signature. And regarding Ravaging Ghoul, I'll miss the guy, but I won't miss it the most, hence no shout out. No shout out to other cards I enjoyed, either, simply because listing virtually all the cards would be very counter productive.

Not saying you should have, just teasing because I would have!

Well... this thread isn't just about the cards I'll miss, it should be about card anyone will miss. If you have a couple free hours, you can list yours up. And if it's any consolation, I'll most certainly read it.
When I made this thread, it was with the purpose of people coming in and saying what cards they'll miss. Hence me "challenging" you do do it yourself. I guess re-reading my last post did make me sound like a passive-aggresive douche, sorry about that. Maybe I'm just a bit frustrated almost nobody picked up on the thread.
People are salty tryhards and they're too busy thinking about the cards the rotation prevents their opponents from having. Not enough people willing to play a Cho every now and then.

Ranked game wins per class (26/Dec/2018): Druid - 457; Hunter - 482; Mage - 345; Paladin - 435; Priest - 295; Rogue - 234; Shaman - 430; Warlock - 419; Warrior - 367
I really should update my signature more often...
No shout-out to Ravaging Ghoul? And here we were being led to believe you were a warrior player...

I really think i will miss Dirty Rat. It's the kind of card that i think should always exist in the game.
I will miss NOTHING!
Why? Because WILD FTW!

I will miss Babbling Book. Because spells are fun.
Validated Doomsayer just because of it's voice line "I was right all along. Muahahahaha!"
