yeah when someone is casting Feeding Time in your minion in turn 2 you'll say otherwise
Inconsistent combo that has only real worth during early game and has no real value later in the game. You still pay 5 health and lose 2 cards. You could have just played a strong 2 drop instead.
Is that really worth it to play both cards, just for that? I doubt it.
Everyone always underestimates Health as a resource, this card is good for exactly the same reason Weapons are good; it trades Health for Tempo, and that can win games.
I can't think of any spells Warlock would benefit greatly playing on turn 2. By the time your opponent brings out the big guns, you have sufficient mana to deal with them.
Only thing I can think of is Kara kazam.. But you would need to play it on turn for it to be worthwhile.. This is just a dumpster card

Let me guess.. You were one of those people on the cho gall hype train when he was announced. This card won't see play.. And to call it meta defining is a joke.. Meta defining is the rank for cards that are essentially auto include in meta decks.. This is not that.
This will easily fit into my wild Renolock list. Can't wait to combine it with kazakus potions and suprise removal, just to reno right after. So much value to be gained from this, expecially if it gets a discount from Emperor Thaurissan. Might even consider running DOOM alongside Twisting Nether if I can end up paying 0 mana for one of them in a game.
Bloodboom + DOOM! / Twisting Nether + Lord Jaraxxus seems legit if you can get a Thaurissan discount on one card.

Don't buy a lotto ticket then, because I hadn't started playing this until a month after WoG released.
2) Cho'gall requires you play a minion, THEN boardwipe, making it substantially worse than Boardwipe, THEN minion. If Cho'gall came down after the Twisting Nether, he would essentially be a Deathwing that lets you keep your hand but costs you 8 health to play.
THIS CARD IS BUILD YOUR OWN MINI DEATHWING. Boardwipe, then play Doomguard. Boardwipe, then play Reno Jackson/Kel Thuzad (Wild). Or Hogger, Kabal Trafficker, Harrison Jones, Nether Portal. Or several smaller minions, like Twilight Drake and Defender of Argus. Cho'gall is horrible with board wipes since you have to play him before you can cast it for 1 less mana and 8 health. This is amazing with board wipes because you don't need to have a board.
3) Cho'gall is actually a really, really good card that isn't supported by Warlock yet, but definitely will be later on, especially now that the Dev team realizes that Warlock needs better spells (Blast crystal Potion was a step in the right direction). To put him in perspective; if Warlock had Fireball or a Fireball like card (or just got one off of Kabal Courier), he's basically a High-Roll on Firelands Portal every single time you cast Fireball with him.
4) Speaking of Kabal Courier, especially now that Aggro is going to have a harder time thriving since we're getting all the taunts (Tar Creeper is sure to be very good), a 2 mana Free From Amber on T4 is potentially game winning, as is a 2 mana Mind Control when they drop something big. 2 mana Firelands Portal, or a 2 mana Flamestrike?

It's really a great tempo swing, but warlocks doesn't have enough heal to make this viable.

Twisting Nether is now anti-aggro.

One the strongest cards ever printed. Mabey not good now, but will be nerfed eventually in wild given a few years.
probably good in a control deck with the new nega-ivory knight. If such things can occur without huge heals
Cho'gall for 2 mana without a body.
Turn 2 into Kharakazan is something chogall never could have acomplished. This card seems better if not very good. I disagree it wont see any play.
Yes please!
One of the strongest stand alone cards of the set.
If Violet illusionist dies from Twisting Nether, does she still protect the hero?
I get the feeling this community is in for a really rude awakening when they find out that trading health for tempo is amazing.
This card isn't meta defining because it allows you to cast Twisting Nether for 2 mana and 8 health. This card is meta defining because it allows you to Twisting Nether + develop a Doomguard through a board of taunts. It allows you to Bane of Doom T2 and get anything from a Blood Imp to a Fearsome Doomguard, Doomguard, or Lord Jaraxxus.

Coin Bloodbloom Kara Kazam
Have fun with that one.
