So i only have just under 1.5k games and never made legend. I’m chill with the d1-d5 area. Don’t play enough to make it with off-meta stuff and refuse to play the meta. I just came back about 2 weeks ago and last I played was right before kobolds was released.
so far though it seems the meta consists of maybe 2 decks that aren’t highlander and then the other 1 or 2 meta decks run Highlander package. Every game seems the same and feels very RNG based.
just curious if this happens often with the meta towards the end of the season because patches and expansions are so far apart? Or is this meta just more RNG based then previous ones? Never sat through an entire meta or played longer then a month or so before stopping for awhile.
lol no, mtg pirate warrior and KotfT Jade druid metas were faaaar worse
as for the rest of the post:
the last few months into an epansion are always the most boring ones as there are almost no new decks(with a few exceptions like heal zoo) and the existing ones are so even that you can't really nerf any of them. The only way to change that is by releasing more cards, but even that barely changes the meta.
Especially if you like losing. I love pally, but Uther is really missing some key pieces to be competitive. Specifically it needs some mass removal for control pally to be good, more librams for midrange and better weapons/charge/face for aggro. Just about every strategy, another class does it much better and all builds fare poorly against DH and that guarantees a poor win %.
One of the best IMO. A lot of complex to pilot decks (Quest Warlock, Mage, Warrior, DH in some cases, Rogue(ish)) with a lot of satisfaction for beating their bad matchups.
No, this is a pretty good meta. The worst were when Elysiana was played in competitive, the one with spreading plague and voidlords and the un'goro quest rogue meta
No. The worst meta ever was Witchwood. Every game was odd paladin, even paladin or cubelock. Tbh this is probably one of the best metas in history of hearthstone.
Every meta has several threads like this, lol. I doubt anyone who have played for 4+ years will call this the worst meta ever, in Wild nor Standard. Some tough ones to beat:
Pre-nax 2-mana Unleash the Hounds also featuring pre-nerf Starving Buzzard. No class has ever dominated winrates across the board that badly, with both face and midrange hunters being completely OP compared to anything else.
Nax pre-nerf Undertaker meta, where every class were forced to play a deathrattle package or lose the game. Hunters dominant again, but zoo was also very strong.
Very interesting seeing everyone’s responses. Ofcourse you’ve got your trolls, but to others it’s the best or the worst or just meh. Appreciate the feedback guys. Like I said, never played an entire meta through and only just started this one to so I have nothing to gauge except for other posts like **ck priest, or OP DH!! Or other crying threads.
The first couple weeks of KotFT was the absolute worst meta of all time. Druid made up literally 40% of the meta at one point before it got nerfed, and it's winrates were absurd. It was nearly impossible to play if you didn't play Jade Druid, Big Druid, Token Druid, or literally any other Druid deck. In this meta at least 8 classes have a decent chance (sorry Shaman and Paladin)

The release of Demon hunter was also pretty bad, but the nerfs happened so fast it barely qualifies as a "meta" imo.
I do remember spreading plague being a thing at one point when I played. Definitely match changing.
you mentioned hunter being crazy with 2 mana hounds. Hunter always seems to be something that finds a place in every meta from what I can tell. Agree or disagree?
The replies seem to be from people that don't play competitively this game.
This meta is one of the worst (and I play since the Open Beta) because all the top-tier decks are not consistent, but, they are very strong if well-drawn.
Spell druid needs the ramp
Rogue needs to put up a big Edwin/Questing
DH needs to start very fast AND to draw skull when out of resources
Highlander Hunter, as an highlander, has to draw very in curve
Quest lock has to draw the plot twist
Mage can't beat aggro without the perfect start
Warrior can steal many matches with inner rage + rampage on an early minion.
This meta, played at high levels, is probably the worst ever.
Metas with jades, undertaker, what you want had a great deck that was consistent. This meta is based on coinflips and highrolls.
Period.

every meta is the worst meta :)
Far from the worst, but still so boring to the point of only logging in to complete quests. Already can't wait for the new expansion.
this is the best expansion and meta ever. peace out and big up myself.
play pala vs this meta

The meta is good, the thread is bad and useless.

Far from the worst, but to be fair, it is far from the best too.

Pirate warrior/Aggro Shaman at MSOG release, featuring pre nerf Patches the Pirate, Spirit Claws and Small-Time Buccaneer.

Jade druid meta featuring 5-mana Spreading Plague.

Nope worst meta were...all the previous metas ;)
All classes bar shaman and paladin have viable teir 1/2 decks to hit legend with and it's the worse meta?
