The title say's it all basicly, So I’m rank 4 on standard and I am getting farmed by Face Hunters, it’s the only deck that I lose +80% of the time from, so I’m hoping some good input from you experienced warlock guys out there on how to even these odds a bit.
Dropping more taunts simply won’t work as their hero power that can be reset by Blackwald Pixie is just too much damage, this in combination with their weapon and spells.
Change Siphon to second Tar Creeper. Change Ratcatchers to 2x Rotten Applebaum
And anyway Odd hunter matchup is difficult for both Rinlock and Cubelock. HSReplay shows just 35% winrate. As for me on rank2-legend with my Rinlock it was 50%, but games were really depended if I draw heal and Guldan or not.
Is it just face hunters in general or are you referring to BakuHunter? I actually don't run doomsayer/Umbra/Godfrey/Ratcatcher in my deck because I feel like doomsayer doesn't do much cause you're clearing a board of 1/2s but still taking 3 to face and Umbra is good every like 10 games the combo is too inconsistent. Godfrey is great because its a bigger defile which is awesome and Ratcatchers are cool as cube activators late; however, I do run 2 Applebaums and Curse of Weakness, because Curse does the same thing as Doomsayer in denying damage from the board while you set up.
The best way I found is to play the same way, go face and set up a big board; you have more taunts (with Applebaums) and have healing in Dark Pact and Spellstones and Applebaums to out heal the 3 damage to face every turn.
If I were you in this deck exactly; i'd drop Umbra and another card of your choice (probably Doomsayer or 1 of the Mountain Giants) to add either 1 Applebaum and 1 Tar creeper/Curse of Weakness or 2 Applebaums.
Also just a question; no Spellbreaker? Quite ballsy running no silence. Also don't be afraid to drop a minion on board just for the sake of it being there in this match up. A Cube/Ratcatcher on board without their battlecry triggering is better then having nothing in this matchup.
Lets start by making clear that as cubelock odd hunter is an slightly unfavoured match up. If you don't get your key cards asap you are dead in the water and as a cubelock your hand tends to be clunky.
Now in your deck i would remove:
the ratcacters
the faceless manipulator
umbra
All the above make your deck too greedy. Unless you want to counter control decks, the forementioned cards are useless.

I also tried to include 1 Despicable Dreadlord. It works very well against aggro, but you don't want it against other control decks. I have to say it's pretty fun though. I played Umbra and then Cube on the Dreadlord, I ended up having 4 damage enemy board clear at the end of each turn. Which is pretty useful against Paladins lol.
Just my 5 cents, here is the deck I took legend this season (from rank2). It is performing really well against aggro meta, was killing crow mages, odd paladins and odd hunters really good.

First, I think that control lock is much better this expansion than cubelock because you’ll always get a voidlord from your possessed lackeys and stopping facedamage is what keeps you alive.
Besides this, I’ll only give you some tipps instead of card replacement recommendations as my knowledge with cube is a little bit limited:
-depending on your starting hand, it can be viable to keep guldan, especially if you‘re going second.
-you shouldn’t really use your hero ability
-it’s better to dark pact your own voidlord if a silenced voidlord means you die
-after t5 or so, you should really avoid getting damage from minions
- use your spellstone on your own minions if you have no other target
As I said, I don’t really play cube so I don’t know if there is a chance for face racing the opponent and yes, rotten applebaum might be decent though I’d only include it if there are a lot of hunters because in general, it’s not a good card.
I dont know about control lock since there is no N'Zoth and i feel like u just dont have enough demons to deal with other controll decks. I played shit tones of cubelock last expansion (no N'Zoth tho) and against control lock i had pretty decent win ratio even tho they had N'Zoth just cuz i had more demons to spit on board. Now i play some hadronox cube druid and the only thing control can do against me is destroying my deck with Azari, other than that control lock just doesnt have enough fuel to deal with it. Pretty sure warrior can deal with control lock too. Said all that i think its better to play cube lock than control :P
@edit: true that control is better vs aggro decks tho.
You shouldn't counter face hunter with Cubelock. I mean what the fuck you want to counter every other deck in the game? Hell no we've had enough. If you see too much Cubelock counters on ladder than switch to a deck that counters those. It's rock-paper-scissors and you should learn when to switch decks.

Nah I dont agree, changing decks to the meta is probable the worst advice you can get. To climb the ladder you should stick with your deck and change tech cards accordingly to the meta. You cant keep changing your deck because you encounter 18% hunters, also other decks will probable get other Match Making games.
Last but not least, I dont always have to win from Hunters, but with the suggested changes I changed my 80% loss to a 50-50 chance. This made me win the last 3x from the last 5x I encountered Facehunter. Feels good man!
This post can be closed it served its perspose, maybe some other locks will get some good advice from it, like Casdya posted above, thanks for informing us about this.

Do you think I should try Rotten Applebaum ??
Please be constructive, and don’t come with responses like : Stop playing cancer lock decks.

here's my tips
1. start playing wild
2. use my krulzakas warlock list
3. ???
4. profit
have you tried mindbreaker?
Well I like playing warlock, but if I feel like I am facing too many hard counters in an evening I switch to a different deck for that evening.

- 2x ratcatcher
+ 1x doomsayer
+ 1x tar creeper

What i would add in order to counter hunters
Rotten Applebaum
Second doomsayer
Plated Beetle

You could use Clockwork Automaton to heal to deal 6 damage and heal for 12, that is if you drop Bloodreaver Gul'dan, which is not too propable.
Yea I dont want to change to much and make me weaker to the other matchups on the ladder.
As it is now, Facehunter is 18% of my matches.
" In the beginning, there was nothing, which exploded."
Try to have in your oppening hand Gul dan and any heal or aoe. Change ratcatcher for doomsayers and dont use life tap too much
I play 2x Stonehill Defender and 1x Tar Creeper.
It helps a lot against aggro.

Good Post, I was struggling with the same problem.. and some great responses to!
