Hi, I've been playing a lot of Raptor Rogue lately, having lots of fun with my more Midrange version of the deck, with Trade Prince Gallywix and Clockwork Gnome.
I know Anub'arak is a bad card, but I've seen many Raptor decks running him to have some late game reach. Keeping in mind that I mostly play for fun but want decent decks, is he worth the dust in a Deathrattle Rogue ? If some of you run him in your decks, how often can you use him and win because of him ?
I don't have tons of dust but would totally spend it for him if he was worth it.
I had an Anub'arak in my deathrattle rogue deck a while back.
Basically there is only one scenario where he's useful: When your opponent is topdecking. They have nothing else on the board, nothing in hand, and they are just playing minions as they come out in an attempt to maintain board relevance. That is where Anub'arak shines: Because you can play him, destroy the enemy minion, then either keep Anub'arak on the board or get a 4/4 which can deal with the next thing they summon while you play Anub'arak.
Of course, this alone isn't enough to justify putting him in most decks I'm afraid. He's probably more useful as a draw from Paletress or Sneeds.
I play anub alongside gallywix in a reno rogue. I actually really like him, it is usually in priest or warrior games he comes out. Entomb has little counterplay anyways and I run a few finishers so it is not the worst.
I think he might find a place in standard, especially in light of the powerful new rogue cards, and also if the meta slows down. Sad to see gallywix go though :'{ I think he is very underrated.
Anub'Arak is a really good warrior hero, has a lot of tanking opportunity. Can be built extremely bulkily and fill a role as the only warrior on a 1-warrior team. His q is a great interrupt, great at stopping auto-attack heroes and any channels (pesky nazeebo heroics). his w really adds to his tankiness with a nice shield, allowing you to play even more aggressively (and with a beetle from his trait to boot). his e can be used offensively or defensively to escape or initiate, like many long range 'teleports'. Overall great tank, low cost, good place to start.
Definitely not worth the dust for raptor rogue, he is too slow for that deck. He is a one card win condition vs Warriors and Freeze Mages (previously priests but now they have entomb) and is damn good vs Handlock. Unfortunately, if you play heavy enough rogue decks to fit him in it they are probably bad because up until now control rogue sucks. Given the release of Xaril, Poisoned Mind it seems unlikely Blizzard will push much further for a control rogue.
I run him in my Reno deck. Nothing shuts down a warrior or freeze mage like anubarak. He's very strong but you just need to be aware of when you're playing him by counting removals and silences. He isn't one of those cards you just throw down to make an impact, he's something you throw down to start pushing the game into an end zone you can freely control.

@galahadB do you run gallywix in your reno rogue?

Xaril and Huckster both seem to fit well in control decks IMO. Well honestly they seem to work well in almost any rogue deck. Time will tell.
