Despite this, it seems to be barely working against some of the more prevalent odd paladins and its a toss up against some of the heal zoos. Would there be any way to change that or is tempo mage once again just slightly not good enough for the metagame?

I am playing a similar deck to this except with Kirin Tor Mage instead of Flame Geyser and Arcanologist instead of Pyroblast and Arcane Explosion. I've only played about 15 matches with it but the win rate I have is 40% X_X What happened to this deck? Do you think I should dump the secret minions for more face damage? I was excited about it but not when it's insta-lose vs. Warrior, Druid, Warlock, and any deck with Zilliax or other major heals.
With all the zoos going mad at the moment tempo mage will suffer. I suppose Druids can be a problem as well with all their armor? So to me it seems tempo mage will struggle.
Tempo Mage is one of the evergreen archetypes in Hearthstone and while Aluneth is in standard rotation, it's going to stay relevant. Having said that, it's one of the weaker aggro decks in this meta. It always struggles in the aggro mirror, the real problem is that many combo decks have insane healing and armour gain. It's still a good choice for ladder until you hit rank 5, hard carried by turn 1 Mana Wyrm.
people who play tempo mage are the same people that played secret paladin during the grand tournament, they just play whatever deck is the easiest to play that can realistically win the game by turn 5-6
No i don't hate you, but if your grammar is any implication of your intelligence, I can confidently say you couldn't win with anything more complex if you tried.
Tempo Mage is one of my climbing decks for this month. For the love of god, dump Celestial Emissary. It is so sub-par that I do not understand people's infatuation with it, especially in this deck.

A never-Legend Dad who keeps making rank 2 or 1, but then sliding.
Rumbling around Gurubashi Arena. Shirvallah is the best loa. Go Tigers!
Is there any at least semi-viable tempomage deck without Aluneth ? I do not plan to craft it, but I played TM back in the day ...
How about a tempo mage deck that's simply viable rather than semi-viable? :P As the only hard counter to quest rogue right now, the deck is doing quite fine, especially at higher ranks where quest rogue is more common. It's a poor tournament deck because a counter quest rogue lineup is unreliable due to the lack of other consistent counter decks however

I'm pretty sure all the pros agree that the card is bad by now. The only people who play it are probably netdecking old lists
At that point, Mage becomes pretty well unplayable. Its core identity is that it's a controlling class with strong targeted damage, moderate to strong AOE and contingent recovery/sustain mechanics. If you HoF Counterspell and Fireball, you pretty much relegate the class to trash tier for a very long time until suitable replacements are printed.

Turn 1 Mana Wyrm is no longer enough to win games. I've had games where I draw the perfect 1-2-3 curve yet still get destroyed. Some matchups seem unbeatable no matter what I draw or how I play.
This is coming from a player with over 500 games played as Tempo Mage. It's not skill, it's the paper/rock/scissors meta with very polarized matchups.
I don't play the Spell Damage minion package, yet I use Vex Crow. You can build a board out of nowhere while dealing with their board. It is also so fun to hear Crow's activation sound, lol.

Ive spent the last 2 days playing almost exclusively tempo mage and I think Ive figured out one of the better lists out there
Despite this, it seems to be barely working against some of the more prevalent odd paladins and its a toss up against some of the heal zoos. Would there be any way to change that or is tempo mage once again just slightly not good enough for the metagame?

Always Hunters. Always Huffers.
Kirin Tor Mage (and maybe Bloodmage Thalnos).
No tempo mage will ever well against a board centric deck such as Odd Paladin. But a three mana 4/3 with a decent effect will help in all cases.

I hope this deck is never viable. Least fun thing to play against.
Dibbity don't touch that!
A long time ago, I hitted legend for the first time using Tempo Mage after the Warsong Commander nerf. Do you hate me, bro? :P

There were some tempo mages in the top 16 & 8 of the latest HCT tour stop (currently ongoing). This deck is no meme
Legend with : S65 Freeze Mage, S57 Maly Gonk Druid, S57 "Okay" Shaman, S53 Boom-zooka Hunter, S53 Maly Tog Druid, S52 Wild Tog Druid ft.Blingtron, S50 Quest Rogue, S49 Dead Man's Warrior, S41 Wild Clown Fiesta Druid, S41 Hadronox Jade Druid, S40 Wild OTK Dragon Druid, S35 SMOrc Shaman, S33 Jade Druid, S22 Control Priest, S19 Control Priest
Thank you I will try the Yogg version out, hopefully see more wins but not feeling optimistic about the archetype atm.

Nope, I hate Blizzard for not HoFing Fireball yet. It’s long overdue.

Yes, HoF Fireball, Ice Block,Counterspell to make mage "fine".
