I enjoy new tech cards but Hobart Grapplehammer, Don Han'Cho, Brass Knuckles, Grimy Gadgeteer, Grimestreet Informant and most of the others does't fit in Control Warrior, or any other Warrior list if you want to climb. That's kind of sad and I guess they were scared they would be OP and made them far to slow.
Hunter seems to be in the same spot while Paladin has a bit better buff cards. Tempostorm have a buff Paladin on last place in Tier 4. Warrior and Hunter doesn't even have a buff deck in the list.
You guys think things will improve for Grimy Goons next update?
I haven't played much buff Hunter or Warrior, but I have played a lot of buff Paladin. The deck feels pretty close to viability, you can definitely take the deck to rank 5 at the least. I don't think more cards will be released specifically for the Goons theme, but it could happen indirectly. Like whenever Paladin gets a good new Divine Shield minion, it benefits from the buff cards, when Warrior gets a good taunt, Bolster and the Goons cards become stronger, etc.
To boost the Grimy Goons, I'd like to see the "sparkle effect" on you minions go away. It gives your opponent too much information about your hand.

This guy knows what's up. I think that the Grimy Goons have the greatest chance to get better in future expansions. We're not getting any more Jade Golem Cards, and since Reno is leaving standard the Kabal will be significantly worse.
We had in-hand buff cards before Gadgetzan (Forlorn Stalker). I don't see any reason why they couldn't have had the same animation that doesn't reveal your hand.
If the Grimy Goons cards had been released in Karazan, we would have been talking about how annoying mid-hunter is and how control decks can't possibly keep up with Goonadin. The meta is just too fast right now and can beat you before anything the goons do is relevant.
When I buff dopplegangster with fat Don and play him out with Brann I have a lot more fun with a single win in Casual than 10 wins in Ladder using a Pirate deck. Don't think I've ever played so much Casual before. The only tech deck I can do reasonable with in ladder is Evolve Shaman.
The Grimy Goons mechanic has two issues. 1) Outside of Paladin it is inconsistent since you can't always guarantee the minion you want to buff gets the buff (this is why the Paladin Goons decks are the best of the bunch, which isn't saying a whole heck of a lot). 2) The spells which buff only a single minion are bad value if your opponent can answer that buffed minion with one card. You essentially are losing card advantage (2 cards to their 1).
That being said, it is possible that with rotation the Goons mechanic could get better. I expect the Reno decks outside of Priest to get a worse so mid-range decks could stand to become more viable than they are now. The Jade decks (Druid and Shaman, no one plays Jade Rogue) generally have trouble when you can overload the board with overstated minions since they lack great AOE removal (Swipe is a lot worse when the 1 damage AOE part doesn't kill anything, and Lightning Storm is less effective as well).
It would be good if they simply let us choose which minion gets buffed with the single target handbuff effects. It's a pain in the arse to try setting up any kind of combo when it's completely random. Goons would be probably still be a bit behind the Kabal and Jades but it would be much more viable than it is currently.
Since the first announcement the Grimy Goons mechanic was about putting more eggs in one basket so I have always disliked it. In case of Hunter you almost have no way to refill the hand and simply can't afford to spend two cards for 8/7 highmane that can be entombed, hexed, polymorphed, forced to "follow the rules" etc. The Goons buffs could be much more useful if it was not only about giving stats, but more about adding a specific behaviour. For example, buffed Hunter creature may have addition battlecry "Summon two 1/2 Turtles with Taunt" or "Deal 1 damage to all enemies" or simply get Faerie Dragon's effect + Taunt.
It seems like the devs got too scared of potential combos breaking the game, leading to almost every Goons card being weak.
Kazakus singlehandedly dragged Reno decks to tier1 while Aya is comparable to Cairne on her own. Meanwhile Don Han Cho is so weak that he's hardly worth playing in handbuff decks!
Right now, the meta is just too fast for midrange decks to be effective. If things ever slow down a bit, Goons can be pretty effective. If you're dubious, go make a few arena runs - handbuff Pally, in particular, can be super strong if given a little room to breathe.
I can't agree with you. The sparkling can only help you. It doesn't harm in any way. it's the greatest give away after drakonid OP. If pala buffs his hand and it's only minions there you should know for one that there isn't any consecration nor equality and truesilvers unless he top decks it the very next turn. After considering how many cards there're left in your opponent's deck and if you've been following and counting his removals you should be able to make more precise play. You can tell whether the risk is slight or high. Another thing - if he starts the game with buff it becomes possible for me to keep track of the cards from his starting hand. If at the left side of his hand stays a buffed card not being played untill t7 you bettet expect Tirion or other late game buffed drop so you know you should spare a removal. Similar situation with Dirty rat - If it doesn't pull anything you can make some conclusion as well.

Check out my fun and innovative decks here:
Beat your opponent to a pulp with Revenant Warrior or outlast them with Demon Reno Warlock.
I got Grimy Gadgeteer in the brawl and it just steamrolled the opponent. In the real world, it's pretty easy to remove though.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
