in N/A maybe u dont need still, but EU region not works like that. so many control on 2+ ranks and as i said u cant do anything.
no brain paladin played dream combo and u won a game, this is not the point. have 2 removal spell actually dont count Backstab as removal, but against most match up you cant use only eviscerate as removal. anyway probably you are most lucky rogue player in N/A otherwise this deck really useless.
I used this list to hit rank 1 a month ago. Yu can see what is core, why not just change your own list? Add all the heal that you want lol. See how much better you are doing then tell me why my deck is so bad and not optimized. I still play lists very similar to this in high legend on eu na and asia...
Would Beneath the Grounds be a viable card option for this deck just to counter all those Reno Jackson decks? And if so, what card would I replace for it?
No
Reno decks are not that problematic in this matchup no need to add hard counters. The minions are so sticky it will not be easy for them to catch up when you're ahead on board control. Just need to play safe and try and maintain board control without overextending and play around their big swing cards.
Great Deck!! The only bad machup is Priest.
From rank 11 to 5. 25 wins - 6 loss

I use the previous version of this deck that have 1 Sap instead Thalnos.
The only card that I never get value from it in a game is Sylvanas, I think that will be better add 1 Sap, drop sylvanas and add Thalnos in this version.
Haven't tried this replacement for a while (I got bloodmage early) but I think Shiv is an okay card to fill the spot, its a bit better than Kobold or Loot horder. Think of it as a one time use of Bloodmage but it does not complement your aoe spells very well. Bloodmage is essential on Rogues and is really worth crafting if Rogue is your main class.
I'm getting steam rolled my flood decks lol
Would tomb pillager be good?
Tomb pillager is pretty eeeh in tempo. In tempo you really want the most value per mana per turn and a 5/4 body on turn 4 is... not that. It's very vulnerable to shredders (also turn 4) and to many kinds of removal. The coin you get is more useful for enabling the combo cards and slight ramping than it is for playing on curve. If you want to use pillager I'd look more toward miracle and/or a malygos deck where the coin's upside is a lot more valuable.
Great answer, the deck curve is not high enough to value a coin over a 4 drop that isnt shredder and dies to shredder. At least not right now :)
Can you explain how you beat freeze mage? and how you beat any type of priest, obviously doesn't work against dragon priest, has nothing can deal with Northshire Cleric and Twilight Whelp in the early game and shadow madness and cabal makes you nuts by stealing your deathrattles, and the deck is even slow enough for the priest to mind control any big thing on your board.
especially i found this deck mostly deal even damages(2 damage backstab, 2 damage SI:7, 4 damage eviscerate) and most priest cards has odd health ( Northshire Cleric and Twilight Whelp 3 health,Holy Champion Blackwing Technician 5 health) make it very hard for me to deal with, most of the time has to use face to add that extra 1 damage. Don't know how you guys solve this problem. and this deck you made don't even have Sap to deal with buffed up taunts makes it a completely mystery for me about how you get to legendary 1
so far no problem against other matchups, just 0-5 against freeze mage and 0-9 against any priest
Those are the decks worst match ups. Freeze mage you just have to go all in constantly and hope he doesnt have ice blocks make sure you hit eggs with raptors, it should be around maybe 70/30 60/40 if you can do those things which is not that bad.
priest is pretty annoying, dragon priest a lot more than control priest. Dragon priest you just need to get cad advantage. Control priest just play around board clears. I really don't play these decks that often when I do play tempo rogue.
I feel bad that I cant answer these questions well, the thing is I am busy with finals so I cant really play that much and have not been playing tempo rogue that mush either.
I hit rank 1 on nov 23. I dont really remember playing either of these decks, mostly paladin which is a good match up
Tempo is not "playing better cards" or whatever, although that can sometimes generate tempo. A pure tempo deck exploits in some way the things that renew every turn. In most cases this amounts to either mana crystals or attacks, so a "tempo deck" both uses its mana more efficiently than the opponent and attacks more often than the opponent. Oil rogue was actually a great example of a pure tempo deck (albeit one with a burst combo finisher) because it played threats to the board and used cheap spells sometimes discounted by Preparation to spend 0-3 mana to answer threats the opponent spent 2-5 mana on. This deck is actually the definition of midrange, which plays high value threats that typically dominate the board and wins by "curving out". The way I think about major deck types is by how they win the game: control has more cards, midrange has better cards, aggro converts cards into damage, and tempo has better turns. Yes, Bash your Shredder plus Armor Up is bad tempo. No, a deck full of sticky creatures is not a tempo deck.
That said, this deck is very strong and I'm not surprised it did well in upper legend.
My definition
Your definition
By better cards I mean ones that are more mana effienct in the way that a shredder is better than a yeti and in the way that you have a 5 drop for 5 mana and they only have a 4 drop for 5 mana and nothing else that turn. That is why i said better curve. Secondly, if you have board control you will be hitting face more than your opponent, I thought that would be clear. Lastly, keep board control with cost efficient cards is playing mana efficient cards.
Our definitions are actually quite similar. However
The tempo definition in hearthstone is not exactly the same as the one for magic which is
I think is represented that in my description very well. Tempo in no way exploit things that renew each turn as you said... mana, hero power and minion attacks are the only thing that renews. That is a very vague description of tempo. Oil Rogue is not much of a tempo deck because they are often behind on board and use burst to win. They do posses a way to use cards mana efficently (prep) but it is usually not used to gain tempo. (Hit rank 1 legend with Oil 2 times).
No TRUE Tempo decks are not played in hearthstone because of one big problem. Card draw
Explain:
8 2 drops will also be better than any 8 drop on turn 8(assuming board clears and hard removal are both equally available)
Another way to look at this is by saying okay a vanilla 2 drop would be okay as a 3/3 so 8 x 3 = 16/16 what 8 drop has 16/16 of stats?
That is why if a deck could it would run all 1 and 2 drops instead of having a curve, if it could. "What that is crazy what are you saying Floododle?!"
Look at zoo, it has an amazing hero power that gives it a bunch of draw for 0 cards needed to draw them. SO it runs less expensivbe cards because it wants better manna efficient cards.
The reason why every deck doesnt do this is because of the the lack of powerful card draw in hs.
Also thank you :)
Tempo is not like that, Tempo is like when you play better cards than your opponent and force them to make plays that they don't want to make. So you want to have a good curve every game, you want to get board control and keep it with your cost efficient cards like backstab and eviscerate. Then instead of playing their 6 drop they have to use bash and armor up. The difference between these decks and aggro decks are that they can win in the late game and get board control after they lose it. The difference between midrange decks and these are that this deck does not run healing or a combo, so they aim to win with minion board control over outlasting or bursting.
Glad i could help! And no dont worry your eyes are most likely fine I added it after I replied XD
Trying -1 Sylvanas +1 Kel'Thuzad atm and working surprisingly well @ rank 5.
Finley Mrrglton has also won me numerous freeze mage match ups with hunter hero power (-1 BGH for him atm). Nice to get fresh daggers and then play him.
More consistent early game is what I noticed. Felt like there was enough removal already + Not a lot of targets for BGH @ Rank 3~5 these past 2 days (including sergeant BGH combo).
I am too scared of not having viable turn 1/2 plays to drop a spider for Finley, because this deck relies on having some early board presence to get working, but I think I would replace spider as well if BGH needs to be tech'ed back in.. kinda awkward xD
What do you think about Cairne Bloodhoof in this deck for combo with Unearthed Raptor? And with which card i could swap him with?
