Red Eyes Black Dragon, is that you?
If Dragon Control is a thing this will be in it. Not because it's particularly good, but because we can't be picky when we only have a handful of dragons. Hey, it'S better than having to run Cobalt Scalebane for no reason other than it being a dragon.
Pretty solid card, not good enough on its own to make the archetype a thing but with a few more OP/value dragons this would definitely be in the deck. That 3 mana execute minion and this are a good start. We'll see if it will just be a package in odd warrior or its own full blown archetype.
I think this will definitely see play. People are overlooking this card like they did with the mech card that deals 5 to all other non-mechs.
Close enough.
I actually love this card for odd dragon warrior.
Well it is decent when active, but still needs better dragons to be really worth it.
I feel the same, 5-mana 5/5 is not that good for tempo and 5 armor makes it only slight better. I feel that this card will be played as an extra dragon in dragon deck, but it is not the reason to build dragon warrior. Just something you can put in working dragon deck.
When the effect goes off, it's obviously quite good, but I would rather have Shieldmaiden given the cards we have access to in standard now, even if it does cost 1 more mana, it's effect would be more consistent. But if we see a few more dragons, a warrior dragons deck could be good. But knowing Blizzard's release schedule, they tend to trickle out an archetype over 3-5 sets, so this might not see play for quite awhile unless we set a couple more dragons. As a standalone card though, assuming dragon support, it's a very good card.
The golden one gonna look sick
Yay, a dragon! So let's get 3-4 more new drakes in the whole set and dragon decks are the thing again.
Blizzard out of ideas.. it should “gets 3 armar for each dragon in your hand “
this card is realy darn good and i think it makes odd dragon warrior a thing
Art that rad is wasted on a rare card tbh. Albeit a very powerful one.
"I can Drake the hit!"
I was twitching to give this a meta-defining rating, but I thought I'd rather hold back and give it a stricter Very Good rating, which still says a lot. The best comparison is easily Shieldmaiden, and if we recall that card was bonkers. Not deck defining (in Classic Control Warrior) but bonkers nonetheless. The modern day Control Warrior which we know as Odd Warrior was high tier 2 pre-nerfs and high tier 3 post-nerfs. Maybe Emberscale Drake can bump the deck back up to tier 2 or optimistically, tier 1.
Taking into account Smolderthorn Lancer being a thing now, I am positive Odd Warrior wouldn't mind exchanging some cards in the current lists for some good dragons and dragon synergies. Some that come to mind right off the bat are Sleepy Dragon, Ysera, maybe even Deathwing. Even better for Wild since we haveBlackwing Corruptor, Chillmaw, and The Curator. Of course Control decks will never take off in Wild because turn 3 Molten Giant Paladin is now a thing LUL. All we need now is to see more good Warrior or Neutral dragons off of Rastakhan for Odd Warrior to really swing full force.
OMG! The art is sooo good!
Although a simple effect, this card may see a lot of play if a control-style Dragon Warrior is decent. Cheaper Shieldmaiden with dragon synergy, very solid.
A dragon with an Iron Hide
If you are playing 5/5 on turn 5, you should be pretty aggressive. Why do you might need 5 armor for that aggression?! Maybe some armor synergy for Gemstudded Golem on curve? But this card rotates soon…
