Well if we missed control warrior with tones of armor, here it comes again! After we got DK's I think upgrade of hero power at the start might be great for more classes that have DK's cost odd mana.
Seems complicated to use in CW. You keep the important stuff like Shield Slam and Brawl but not having any armorsmiths is gonna suck. Thankfully the Warrior death knight eats more ass than a cannibal with a scat fetish so you won't mind not having it to use this card.
If this didn't restrict you to play only odd cost cards, it would still see zero play. I have no idea what they were thinking. Justicar Trueheart was only 6 mana and had no restrictions and only really saw play in control warrior. Having only odd cost cards I'd actually argue may be worse than "no minions" hunter because your early game is sooooo bad without 2 drops. Playing a SEVEN EIGHT on NINE MANA, is HORRIBLE. This card will see as much play as The Boogeymonster. You literally can't even use your new hero power the turn you play this....
OHHHHHHHH MY GOSH, NEVERMIND. Just realized, this is not a battlecry, you start the game with it!!! Nevermind, this card's awesome!
Might be in for a surprise
I notice how you completely wrote off Shaman in your analysis XD
Having easy access to Spellpower and Taunt from the beginning of the game might be good enough to run a Baku styled Shaman deck, provided Shaman gets at least a couple good tools to replace what they are losing (and hopefully some of those tools are odd costed cards).
I think Druid and Hunter can go well with this card, but I think Hunter will get the most out of it due to the rotating cards
This could be insane in hunter. Hunter has a lot of great odd mana cards and doing 3 damage a turn is pretty dam powerful as well.
This card works very well for Silver hand paladins!
Not really, say goodbye to Lightfused Stegodon and Sunkeeper Tarim.
These are both Un'goro cards, they are not rotating. They are losing Stand Against Darkness and Steward of Darkshire, though.
He means you can't use both Stegodon and Tarim with Baku. Baku only accepts odd-cost cards, and both Stegodon and Tarim are even-cost cards.
Or you could be right and he's just mistaken about the rotating part. Either way, though, you can't use them with Baku.
Oh good point, I understood him to mean that those cards would be going to wild haha. In any case we still haven't seen the whole set yet, there could be several support cards for this archetype yet to come.
Visions of lots of dudes with Level Up!...
The four classes this has a chance in are Warrior, Shaman, Priest and Paladin.
Warrior: gaining 4 health a turn is huge, and you're not losing a whole lot of survival tools (That you wouldn't have lost anyway due to rotation). It needs a win condition, but this by itself is going to keep you alive for a LOOOOOONG time.
Shaman: You know that annoying moment when Shaman gets lucky and high-rolls exactly the totem they need at that moment? Or rolls Taunt totem 4 turns in a row? That's what this does. It takes the randomness out of the "Too powerful not to be random" hero power that Shaman has. It also conveniently doesn't remove any of their board clears OR healing, so we've got a great Control Shaman tool right here.
Priest: Being able to heal a minion for 4 health a turn is going to lead to great value trades, and this doesn't prevent you from running Obsidian Statue. If nothing else, having to fight through +4 health every turn is going to be great for the Priest, and that's not even going into if a card similar to Auchenai Soulpriest gets printed.
Paladin: It's 2 bodies every turn. That starts to add up fast, especially with the Silver Hand synergy that it gets. Heck, this card might actually be a house in Wild Dude Paladin, since you're not giving up the core shell of Dudes, + Steward of Darkshire + Quartermaster to it.
So that means the counterpart must be Mino the Sunspitter, right? No? It's Greymane? WHAT THE HELL?
This will be fantastic if the upgrade applies to Frozen Throne Hero Cards as well!
It will not because it activates at the start of the turn and the Hero Cards replace your current hero power.
