In celebration of Winter Veil! Ahem...
'Twas the night before Winter Veil, and all through the Inn,
Not a Murloc was lurking, not even Murloc Tinyfin.
On the mantle were decks, all constructed with care,
All in Preparation for the morning sun's glare.
All the Heroes of Azeroth were set to do battle,
Using Weapons, and Spells, and fearsome Deathrattles.
For today, you see, a Grand Tournament is planned,
To find the greatest card-battler in the land.
Nine Heroes were chosen to Sprint into action,
To test their fine skills, regardless of faction.
Who, on this day, will come out alive,
In double-elimination, best 3 out of 5?
The doors were Bashed open as early as able,
And playmats were hastily thrown onto tables,
The Youthful Brewmaster got everyone's drinks,
As practice matches began, to work out the kinks.
Malfurion's decks, filled with Wrath and deceit,
Needed only 2 cards to get anyone beat.
Anduin's decks, while slow to offend,
Were designed to Entomb any foe to their end.
Garrosh had home field advantage on his side,
As his Grim Patron comrades all started to chide.
"Silence!" shouted Uther, above clatter and din,
"I've got a secret plan that's surely going to win!"
Jaina planned to win as any Spellslinger should,
Using arcane magic as any decent Mage could.
This didn't bother Rexxar, as he set down his fork,
"I'll use Hunter's Mark on their face!... then I'll SMOrc..."
Gul'dan cackled softly to himself on the side,
For he knew that his Imps would put a dent in one's pride.
Valeera kept her eyes on everyone in the room,
Assuming someone might try to Backstab her soon.
Thrall used the Elements and strong Overload,
With a Flare in his eye and a grin that just glowed.
But who shall oversee such an event in this abode?
None other than 4Head, our dear friend Ben Brode.
"Greetings, dear travelers, to this grand occasion!
A tournament of the wintry persuasion!
Finish your round of ales and brews,
For soon we shall set the rope's short-burning fuse!"
Everyone's practice matches began wrapping up,
And the Ancient Brewmaster began refilling cups.
All the Tournament Attendees gathered around,
As the Shady Dealer's horn sent a heralding sound.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Frodan and Savjz were the first commentating,
With "The Angry Chicken" crew in the wings, ready and waiting.
Trolden had cameras rolling, capturing clips to please us,
To mock those who forgot to pray to RNGesus.
The first round began with complete Battle Rage,
And everyone's mulligans soon set the stage.
Zombie Chow for Anduin, a perfect Turn 1,
Plus a shield and Velen's Chosen? This round's good as done!
Sparks began flying, many minions destroyed,
as Gul'dan sent his first opponent back to The Void.
Malfurion too was wonderfully pleased,
As a Savage Roar combo brought Uther to his knees.
Garrosh was Crushed, beaten in 3 rounds flat,
"Rexxar, my friend, you'll pay dearly for that!!"
Valeera was beaming, very pleased with Unearthed Raptor,
She beat Jaina so badly, she might as well have just slapped her.
And round after round, this tournament went,
With lethals nearly missed, and mana well spent.
A first round win surely did Bolster some spirits,
As the Stablemaster doled out her apples and carrots.
The Innkeeper watched, all day welcoming guests,
As Anduin switched over to the taunt of Wyrmrests.
And Uther switched over to the strong Murloc race,
And Rexxar switched... wait... who are we kidding? He went face!
From dawn until dusk, no match was ResidentSleeper,
As a "Follow ze' rules!" came from Aldor Peacekeeper.
"The end is close!" said Loatheb from the side,
"Yes, the end is coming!" Doomsayer shouted with pride.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The final match was set between Jaina and Thrall,
Which would determine the grand champion of all.
Ethereal Conjurer versus Doomhammer,
Would Snowchugger toss Tunnel Trogg in the slammer?
Both Heroes won twice, in four exciting games,
With Jaina twice dealing twelve damage in flames,
With the Thunder Bluff Valiant buffing totems aplenty,
Thrall himself landed a Bloodlust for twenty!
And the final moments came of the final grand game,
The other Heroes watching, practically rendered lame.
Many cheered for Jaina, many cheered for Thrall,
"Doesn't anyone like me?" Crowd Favorite whimpered from the hall.
And then the turn came with no easy answer,
To see if Thrall could prove to be a card master.
For you see, he had lethal, 50% of the time,
If Ragnaros the Firelord hit face, and not the Slime.
He knew Jaina likely had a Fireball in hand,
But the rope started burning, a response in demand!
Thrall set up the board, had to go for it all,
As the other Heroes shared a Quick Shot at the bar.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, you see, to this day, we don't know who won,
For the Heroes made a pact to not tell anyone.
Only those who were present know the end of Rag's aim,
Only they know if Jaina or Thrall won the game.
But what would you guess? Who do you think was the victor?
Did Jaina win it all, or had Thrall flat-out licked her?
Regardless of who won, a single mantra would prevail...
SEASON'S GREETINGS TO ALL, AND A HAPPY FEAST OF WINTER VEIL!!!
I hope you enjoyed this writing, give it a bump if you'd like others to see it too! -Cyg

I just wanted to thank you so much for this deck. The write-up was so helpful as were the videos. The older decks weren't really working for me or I was missing key cards.
I didn't have Spirit Echo so I substituted Vitality Totem.
It took me three tries but I think I could have gotten it the first time except I didn't play Jinju Waterspeaker when I should have.
Thank you! I am so glad this boss is finished, and it really was easy, especially after watching your videos and reading the guide.

Thank you very much for the guide! I haven't tried this deck yet, but was wondering how many times you put the single Jade Idol card back in your deck before playing it? How many Jade Idols from that one card ideally would you have in the deck? Thanks. :)

Thank you! I was overthinking this one and making it much harder than it was ... thanks. Got it in one try.
I didn't have Finja; my deck changes were - Finja, the Flying Star -2 Call in the Finishers +2 Acidic Swamp Ooze +1 Murloc Tinyfin. I got lucky with Sir Finley and got Steady Shot.

Thanks! It worked for me on 1st try when I had failed with a Priest deck. I got lucky and drew Animated Armor early. Ended up putting my second Animated Armor on the field in order to hit lethal -- he froze it but I had other minions so I was able to finish him off with my hero power.

This worked for me on the second attempt. I didn't have all of the cards for a Warrior deck. Tried another Hunter deck that didn't work. I found this one easier to win with and more consistent. The Quick Shots are helpful, as well as the Bear Traps and Hunter's Mark. Thanks!

I'm hoping for an adventure with more Pirate and Murloc cards and some good legendaries. :)
2
Thanks; this deck is fun to play! Question: One of my favorite new TGT cards is King's Elekk. Any room in this deck for him, or is he better in midrange? Thanks!

If I am feeling generous enough to let you deal the final killing blow at the end of a match I am losing, but then you proceed -- instead of taking the most direct route to killing me -- to set up elaborate plays and generally being a fuckhead, I will immediately concede. I don't care if you are trying to finish a quest or take a screenshot of your god play. If all you have to do is use your hero power or hit me with one minion you already have on the board, then JUST DO IT ALREADY.

I would love an adventure! I am a relatively new player, and have finished Naxxramas (except for Hero) and am almost finishing up Blackstone (with the exception of Hero).
For me, solo adventures add spice to the game and are something different to work on besides ranked/casual matches and Tavern Brawl. (I enjoy those more than Arena.)
More adventures, please, Blizzard! :)

Blizzard, please make this a collectible card!
