This is it, Blizzard? This and a handful of even weaker cards are what's going to replace Rhok'delar in Spell Hunter, three turns of Spell Damage +2 on a 2/3 weapon?
I didn't care for the deck archetype before rotation, but this actually makes Mech Hunter look appealing in comparison.
Khadgar is going to be an absolute nightmare. That effect for 2 mana provides waaaaaaayyyyy too much combo potential. Khadgar into Power of Creation, or Turn 10 Kalecgos followed by turn 11 Khadgar + Conjurer's Calling x 2 will be a common strat, I'm willing to bet.
Playing Heavy Metal! and getting Dragonhatcher: Fuck
Remembering I'm using Dragon Warrior as he pulls out Ysera: OH SHIT THAT'S RIGHT
The final kick to the stones is that this card is rotating out of Standard, just as Blizzard is pushing a bunch of Dragon-based decks for multiple classes.
Yeah... I'm just going to keep using Dire Frenzy + Master's Call. 5/5 for 6 mana is not good, rush or otherwise, 5/5 + 5/5 for 12 mana is only marginally better, and waiting until turn 10 to see this reiterated on Zul'jin when Hunter has much better spells available (even after rotation) does not sell me on this. Even the prohibitively expensive Vilebrood Skitterer doesn't need a follow-up to clear a large tanky minion.
Also- wyverns? Really? You couldn't have gone for gryphons, or manticores, or chimeras, for a card labeled "Unleash the Beast"?
Absolutely nowhere near as powerful- the difference between, say, 1 mana for 1 Silver Hand Recruit and 2 mana for 2 Silver Hand Recruits is far more substantial than you'd expect at a glance. Some classes will enjoy the mana efficiency it gives them, but considering Baku typically gives the same exchange rate- if not better a lot of the time- Genn is less a counter-balance to Baku and more a novelty sideshow to the main attraction.
Eh... "playable," sure, but not "very good" and definitely not "meta-defining". It has synergy with a bunch of Hunter cards, but a stronger card imho usually has the merit to stand on its own without necessary card synergies. You put this in your deck, you have to build around it, like Mecha'thun or Rhok'delar except with much less payoff. I love Scavenging Hyena synergies, believe me, but part of what makes it work with Hunting Mastiff is that you aren't telegraphing your hand to your opponent before you execute your strategy- you can play Hyena and Mastiff together on a single turn between 6 and 10 and clear a few enemy minions while buffing your minion to 6/4, 8/5, or 10/6. Halazzi the Lynx generally doesn't have that advantage- you toss it out, your opponent instantly knows the brunt of your hand, and the limited number of techniques you can do with it. You have to have Toxmonger or Spirit of the Lynx or Stampede to make this card work, because no one thinks a hand full of 1/1s with rush on turn 6 is good by itself.
It can work, but it just feels a bit restrictive and clunky for my taste, outside of Quest Hunter which instantly telegraphs itself at the start of game anyway and thus has nothing to lose.
I didn't think Blizzard could make a card stat'ed worse than Vilebrood Skitterer, but WOW, do they aim to surprise. Over-priced, high-risk, low-value return on successful proc. Dust on the spot, without hesitation.
If true, it... would explain some of the issues I've seen with this card. Like, I only have Beasts in my beast-deck, I specifically don't use Houndmaster to maximize this card's value, but its track record on drawing 3 cards is pretty spotty in games I KNOW I have 3+ minions still in my deck due to Dire Frenzy.
I've never been big on how Tracking indiscriminately burns through your deck, potentially leaving you choosing between that Spellstone you were looking for or your Zul'jin/DS Rexxar. Master's Call is much, much better for Dire Frenzy, though I swear the damn card is bugged because I only play Beasts and it doesn't always draw three.

For Wild, things get even worse: Khadgar into Marin the Fox, Khadgar into Spiteful Summoner, Khadgar into Molten Reflection, Frost Lich Jaina into Khadgar for x2 Water Elementals for every Hero Power kill, Khadgar into Barnes or Saronite Chain Gang... and of course, our old friends, the Deathrattle minions: Carnivorous Cube and Devilsaur Egg.
This fucker's going to be bloody ubiquitous. Count on it.

Keeper of the Grove? More like... keep them off in droves.

I'm legitimately confused- how is "Spend 1 mana, lose 2 health, draw one card" better than "spend 2 mana, draw one card"?

I can't wait for 2019 to kill this stupidly powerful Deathrattle meta once and for all.
