I never really thought of building a control warrior, because it's too expensive and requires a lot legendaries+epics. I decided to give it a try now, because I already got 2x shield slam gorehowl and of course armorsmiths/shieldmaidens from packs and I have solid base of neutral legendaries either crafted or from packs, like Sylvanas, Dr boom, Ragnaros, Alex or Iron Juggernaut so I thought I'd give it a try. I have built a little more midrange version with piloted shredders for better midgame trading since I don't have brawl reset opportunity. Grommash is a popular finisher I don't have too, so I tried Iron juggernaut for slower games that will eventually go to fatigue. I play my version casually and it sometimes works sometimes not.
Do you think it's worth trying it competetive without these 2 cards? I don't think so, but in casual my version is playable, so I can play it sometimes.
I played as nefarian onyxia+ soul of the forest thinking I can't lose this, but he played that corrupt all other minions legendary so I had to do a little trading and couldn't play any more minions, but I still had full board of 2/2's, then opponent played baron geddon.
Both decks are shuffled together then divided and distributed between the players.
I think it has been said somewhere, but similar idea to that that could be fun is you play with opponent's deck, but with some restriction so you can't build a deck incapable of doing any dmg to enemy hero.
What about some simple deckbuilding rules, like only rare cards allowed, only basic and expansion cards allowed, Basic+common cards only with max 4 rares and no epics/legendaries (budget mode). Or any kind of curve restrictions, like you must play at least 10 cards over 5 mana, or you can only use cards with odd/even manacost.
Or something like arena mode where you choose a class then pick a deck using deck helper only, or even totally random mode where you choose class, let the deckbuilder finish your deck automatically and then you can replace up to 5 cards in your deck with anything you want.
Hi, I have 1600 dust and I'm thinking what legendary to craft next. I prefer a neutral legendary useful in many decks. I'm thinking mainly Ragnaros-Overall strong finisher in midrange decks/threat in controls or Harrison as it works against popular warriors/hunters and for possible combo with my blingtron. There are more important legends I'm missing, but I mainly decide between these 2 what do you think?
You can see my classic and gvg legendaries I already have in pictures.
Hi, I already have lot of competetive neutral legendaries and some class ones. Main neutral legends I'm missing are TBK, Harrison, Ragnaros and ysera/leeroy which I feel are less important and then I miss some average/bad or not much used legendaries I'm not planning to craft.
From class legendaries most important ones I miss are Voljin, Antonidas and Grommash others are either average, or I have them or they can be replaced in my opinion.
I play/I can play lot of decks, various types of druid, hunter, shaman, midrange paladin, mech mage with pyroblast instead of antonidas, demonzoo/malylock and oil rogue. I can build a lot of decks that aren't cw or priest where I miss brawl+grom or cabals+voljin.
I have 1400 dust now, so I'm close to getting another legendary and I think it's between Ragnaros, Harrison or TBK, because ysera and leeroy are too limited to facehunter/heavy control decks like priest or warrior I need more cards to play. What do you think I should craft, I'd say ragnaros, because tbk is not much popular now, but harrison sounds good too.
I have all cards needed for freeze mage except for bloodmage thalnos, 1 ice block and 1 doomsayer. I don't have antonidas, but I have pyroblast, do you think it's worth it to play freeze mage without these cards? I use 2 loot hoarders and 1 kobold and 2 explosive sheeps instead.
And btw, you can make pretty good mechmage, but I guess you are already using that.
I think most important/best neutral legendaries I'm missing are: Ragnaros the Firelord, Bloodmage Thalnos, Harrison Jones, The Black Knight, Ysera I think I don't need ysera, Harrison and TBK are just tech cards, so I can play without them too, and Thalnos can be replaced by loot hoarder/kobold and only is really good in freeze mage/rogue. I miss some good class legends like Jarraxus, Grommash, antonidas...
I mostly play midrange decks and some aggro/combo decks. I mostly play druid and hunter-I have probably everything I need. I also play midrange paladin, demon/zoo lock, malygos shaman and I think I could start playing midrange with the new windlord I got today and some more. Do you think it's worth it to craft a legendary, probably ragnaros, or rather craft few epics? Like ancient of war for druid, molten giants for warlock, preparations so I can play some rogue deck or cabal for example? I just don't feel I really need some legendary now.
Hi, you are not the only one with similar idea. I'm sure there is a lot of people trying similar theme deck, but we will see if this can will be good or not. I myself created rather a midrange version of this deck. It's working ok, flamewaker+spare parts/frostbolts/portals is nice, but I'm not totally sure with the decklist, I'm testing this for 1 day. Looks playable. What do you think about it?
3) Replaced 2 frost shocks, and lava shocks are great to cast ancestor's combo even with overloaded crystals if you san have 6 mana without overload and they are a a lot better on noncombo turns especially after lightning storm/feral spirit
4) 10-bolts crackles, storms, wolves and 1 lava burst and 1 doomhammer I use to get some dmg to face for easier combo.
But, these calculations are only based on estimations. That's where this formula is not a magic bullet, but it's a really powerful way to conceptualize the game.
This is probably biggest issue with that formula, of course it works, but you need good data for it to be precise enough. You can estimate winrate against certain decks if you have some win/loss tracker (But you still have to pay attention of distribution of games like 5 mech mages, 1 freeze mage, 2 tempo mages.) Also you need large sample of games against that deck, to have a good enough estimate of your winrate, as you can't say I have 100% wr against secret mages if you only met this deck once. Also you will likely have different chance to win against same deck, that has some different choices, than other deck of the same archetype. For example when you are less likely to win against mech mages who play mad scientist+mirror entity, than if he don't run these cards.
And I don't even have to talk about meta changing and your possibly biased estimations of meta, like if you get against 5 mech mages in a row and you may start to think they are really popular, just to fight 10 other decks after.
Since you suggested not plugging numbers into that equations, rather familiarize with this equation in general, I agree with that and these were just some examples, why trying to directly plug in numbers is not a good idea.
This familiarizing with this equation can mean a lot from a simple decision of adding kezan mysthic if you start facing lot of hunters to completely changing your deck, if you feels it perform better against decks you face the most on ladder. I hope this helped a little and I didn't make any big mistakes or misunderstandings of your text here.
I was happy with that pack, very happy. Just wanted to point out, that none of these cards is actually played except for implosion I already had 2x. I'll surely disenchant golden cheat and if I'll ever need 400 dust for something I'll disenchant that mimiron head, but I'm keeping it for now.
Couldn't resist to do 1 arena, got priest deck with good minions, but almost no removal (just 1 pain+1MC) and not a single AOE I was given. Of course got to mage with t4 sunwalker from portal, or vs a druid with a board full of 2hp minions and then just played ancient of war, or vs paladin who healed for a lot with 2 guardians, healbot, truesilvers while overpowering me with endless tokens. I ended 3-3, but all I GOT WAS FKING 35 gold and 20 dust. I'm at 1370 gold, but I have 100g daily in progress and I decided not to buy any more arenas/packs until BRM is over.
Fun thing with pack I got was that it's exceptionally good in terms of rarity, but in terms of quality, you can see it yourself...

I wonder about harison or rag too, My main class is druid and I play usually midrange decks.

I was lucky in last packs and I have now some new legendaries and a dust for another one.
Neutral legendaries I have: Dr. Boom, Sylvanas Windrunner, Mimiron's Head, Blingtron 3000, Gazlowe, Foe Reaper 4000, Malygos, Alexstrasza, Cairne Bloodhoof + full naxx and BRM.
Class legendaries: Cenarius, Gahz'rilla, Tirion Fordring, Prophet Velen, Trade Prince Gallywix, Al'Akir the Windlord, Mal'Ganis, Iron Juggernaut
