I agree with Yogg-Saron, Hope's End as he is the type of card you want to play in a control deck that is spell centric. If you are ahead you don't need to play him and he simply sits as a card buffer, win more cards generally aren't amazing and often aren't for control decks. He is however one of the greatest cards to play when you are behind, getting a 7/5 body for 10 isn't great but you really assume he'll die with it. Secrets are always beneficial and only cast on your self, even poorly targeted spells like Bash always heal you, although some bad outcomes happen it's just as often you get neutral fizzles. I've seen some reddit math estimating about a 60% chance of him being beneficial when played and clearing the board quite often. Yoggs closest comparison I would say is Deathwing who is also an all in 10 drop that clears the board. In deathwings case you go all in discarding your hand, clear the board once and get a 12/12 body. Yogg will often draw or create cards for you (although some cases he'll discard but much less often), usually clear the board, often set up secrets and likely heal and damage yourself about as likely. He might actually be playable as a clutch come back card or a finisher in a spell centered deck that includes him as an extra but functions without him. After about 10 or so spells he's definitely worth it.

Bog Creeper I wish was on this list, it has taunt so it isn't vanilla and it's essentially a neutral ancient of war with +1 attack, -2 health and resistance to silence. I believe in a world where classic had strong cards like Yeti and stat sticks being playable cards, in that level of card power after the old gods comes out he'll be a solid defensive option. Adwcta talked about how this card is the new Shredder and Kraken for arena as the stat line is just that good. It might have a niche place in constructed.

Corrupted Seer has a terrible body but think of him like a 6 mana spell. For classes wanting to play control or needing more AoE for a Reno deck, he offers a 6 mana Demonwrath with a 2/3 body, these decks often don't contest the board much anyways. Not meta defining but this card is basically a spell as it's effect is huge! It's a bit narrow on the types of deck looking to use it however. Perhaps post nerfed Blade Flurry for rogue will be seeking to run it with C'Thun or control rogue will run this card. Control hunter would also consider it as an option.

    Other mentions:

Hogger, Doom of Elwynn is a counter to C'Thun himself. If C'thun becomes the meta this is a great tech card as you can play it on 9 or 10 with a removal or hero power as your opponent reaches 10 mana for their C'thun.

Forbidden Healing flexible and usable when and for how much you need it to heal. if you clear the board and worry about dying from face you can use it late to stabilize for up to 20 health or as a cltuch small heal vs aggro decks (like face shaman) to curve for you mana. Strifecro said this card would be good and i'll be inclined to believe he knows what hes talking about.

There are not always great answers to Flamewreathed Faceless on curve but there are possible solutions to deal with the card when played on or near curve. Taking 7 for a single turn while your opponent repeats turn 3 might not be so bad (or gets 2 damage extra from Lava Shock or an extra 3/2 from Eternal Sentinel).

    Druid: Mulch, Naturalize

    Hunter: Deadly Shot, Hunter's Mark

Mage: Polymorph, Polymorph: BoarFireball + Ping at 6, Freeze, Flame Lance at 5

Rogue: Sap, Sabotage, Patient AssassinAssassinate and Vanish with Preparation

Paladin: Aldor Peacekeeper, Keeper of Uldaman, Equality, Humility

Warrior: Execute, Commanding Shout + minions Shield Slam (in some instances)

Shaman: Hex, Direct damage + minion

Warlock: Corruption, Power Overwhelming + minion, Siphon Soul at 6

Priest: Shadow Word: Death, Entomb at 6

Neutral: Tinkmaster Overspark, Big Game Hunter at 5 or with The Coin, Leeroy Jenkins + ping, Jeweled Scarab might give an answer depending on class or a Tinkmaster.

posted a message on Poll: Which Class "won/lost" WotG?

Imo C'Thun won WoG. Great removal cards, high stat minions and absurd power cards such as the twin emps on top of a game ending card I bet as good as some of the other classes look with new cards C'Thun will crush them. It almost makes since the Old Gods are the focus of the set and the next 2 expansions this year will add cards to every other nonC'Thun deck to eventually combat it, on initial release he'll probably have one of the top tier decks for the expansion. Classes that play C'Thun very well won, except rogue. Rogue most definitely lost.

    well, Onyxia got a buff

I didn't think of that and WOW!, Army of 2 drops + Deathwing / Old God / Sea Giant
I know it doesn't sound amazing but I can't wait to try that interaction for a crazy 2 card heavy board flood. The only problem being if you get Doomsayer which is pretty high odds as you turn 6 1 mana whelps into 2 mana creatures.

posted a message on New Shaman Card - Stormcrack

Stormcrack is worse than Lightning Bolt in most situations. 3 Mana for 4 damage and to minions only is paying 1 extra mana overall, 1 extra mana upfront for 1 more damage and reduced target selection. Very disappointing, even for control but decent tool for arena. It works with Flamecannon since 4 damage for 2 mana without the overload is great for tempo and it synergizes with mage for spells.

    Pros over Lightning Bolt

-Deals 4 damage instead of 3

    -Cons over Lightning Bolt

    -Costs 3 Mana overall

    -1 Extra initial cost

    -Targets minions only

A side note, I imagine this was for any target at first but Blizzard scrambled to change it since people feared face shaman.

*Edit* When on low health and an empty board, against face decks or perhaps control burst, you cannot play Hallazeal the Ascended and Stormcrack face for the heal, you'd have to hit your own minion as a situational downside.

Arena Shaman just got the tool it wanted. Fireguard Destroyer on crack for 1 extra overload. The inconsistency and 6 health on firegaurd made it not impactful enough not threatening enough damage, and with BGH at 5 mana now it' great.

Interestingly this offers neutral AoE Removal in addition to a Murloc tool. Will utterly surprise a lot of people playing against poor AoE classes such as Rogue or Hunter in arena when a sudden consecrate hits the board. Might see fringe play for certain Murloc decks.

Not an awful card but very overvalued atm. Compared to Master of Evolution you pay 3 extra mana for a 4/5 body with the effect on a single target. To combo this for value you need a mass token summon and to transform at least 3 minions to get value over a master. Requires a board to be a head for value trade and if played in tandem with minions from hand they must have charge or battlecry to gain value from the upgrade. Master just feels way more consistent as it's a good card by itself even when you have no board or are behind assuming you like the same effect. Perhaps evolve is a great 1 of in a swarm deck and for battlecry combos.

Works well with Jeweled Scarab, Abusive Sergeant and Argent Horserider perhaps comboing a massive 3+ minion chain of battle cries. Unfortunately Shaman tends to have poor card draw and wasting an entire card just to buff board advantage cards into an inconsistent upgrade seams like an optimistic strategy at best. This card will be tested with varying results imo but it's far too inconsistent and requires so much set up from a draw lacking class I can't see it overrunning another aggro deck (much like current Face Shaman) or keeping up with greedy C'Thun decks.

posted a message on New Card - Faceless Behemoth

Great addition for F2P accounts and Arena. It's no North Sea Kraken but it's awesome to have a common slot card that works as an end game control card. Often times as you increase the mana slider the vanila curve of a minon gets worse as a 5 mana 5/5 is better than a 6 mana 6/6 and much better than a 7 mana 7/7 and so on. However the option itself just being there makes for interesting arena runs. While the attack of a minion is often irrelevant after 8 as it will kill just about anything you can see value in arena should you draft Ancient Harbinger.

For constructed this card is way to slow and just a worse version of other 10 mana drops, but always the option for new players.
