posted a message on Dragon Warrior To Beat the Bomb

First and foremost, I'm really glad to see viable Dragon Control Warrior list popping up, this one seems to have lots of potential!

There's couple things I'd want to ask however:

    1. Why Scaleworms over Militia Commanders? They're both primarily used for effecient trading, but Commander doesn't require a trigger. Of course Scaleworm leaves a more threatening body behind, but getting in that 2-for-1 is the primary objective, right?

    2. Weapons Project vs Ooze, how often do you get the Shield Slam synergy off of it? And giving a 2/3 weapon to token druid is bit dangerous, no?

    3. Every time I've tried running Ysera in my C. Warrior it's always felt too slow and ends up sitting in my hand, especially since you're very likely to grab expensive dragons from 2x Dragon Roar anyway. I'm liking War Master Voone much more for value generating, I'm surprised you didn't even mention it in omitted cards.

I'm currently trying out this list with these specific changes:

    - 1x Ysera
    - 2x Scaleworm
    - 2x Firetree Witchdoctor (I really like these, but I'm using too few Dragons to make 'em reliable T2 play)
    - 1x Omega Devastator (don't have it yet, simple as that)
    - 2x Weapons Project

    + 2x Town Crier
+ 2x Acidic Swamp Ooze (better tempo vs non-weapon classes imo)
+ 1x Baleful Banker (I'm using more card draw, so I want the Elysiana bounce/shuffle vs fatigue)
+ 2x Militia Commander (replaced Scaleworms for consistensy & draw from Criers)
    + 1x War Master Voone (Ysera's "replacement")

I know it alters the deck quite a bit, but I'm having tons of fun & success with it :)

If Pogo Hopper Rogue becomes a Tier 2+ deck I might just quit HS for good this time. I do NOT look forward to another Jade Druid meta.

posted a message on Is Shudderwock or Hagatha worth it?

I think Hagatha might get considerably better when rotation hits, as it filters out a lot of crappy spells.

No more Ice Fishing, Primal Talismans, Spellstone or Cryostasis cluttering your hand is a big upside.
Losing Volcano, Healing Rain and Unstable Evolution kinda stings, but overall it's a good tradeoff.

"He is too widely used though"

That's really more of the complaint here, at least it is for me, not that Zilliax is too strong, but you see him EVERYWHERE. And you'll probably see him even more in the future. He's not quite an auto-include card at this point in time, but he's really bordering on that, and I don't think that's healthy for the meta.

The Lich King doesn't fit into as many decks as Zilliax does. That alone is concerning.

Differnce is, Lich King can carry the whole game by himself.

If you're not playing a priest Screams, how the hell are you realistically supposed to counter Anti-Magic Shell? If LK decides to pull the right token card when you need it, you just automatically win.

Zilliax doesn't do that. It helps you stabilizing health and going 2-for-1, which is FAR less oppressive than randomly generated "lul I win!" tokens.

posted a message on There seem to be a lot more bots or...?
    Quote from HyperNova>>

People that don’t understand why people complain about bots need to understand it’s not about “a free win and move on” its for these following reasons.

    2. Bots often play they same basic decks it’s not fun to face the exact same deck/experience over and over.

And how's that any different from Ranked experience?

    3. It’s bad for the new player experience that don’t have particular high ranks because they are more likely to have game against bots and this is more likely to make them feel like the ladder isn’t worth bothering with if it’s just full of bots.

Still more enjoyable than getting constantly curbstomped by "Look at me, I'm playing Tier 1 deck on Rank 20!" bumholes.

    5. Blizzard make less money, this follows on from number 4. If people just buy bottled accounts they aren’t buying packs. Less packs being brought equals less profit for blizzard which equals less insensitive to put money into developing they game.

"Less insentive to put money into developing game"... excuse my laughter.

If anything, HS suffers from the LACK of development & updates which in turn causes stale gameplay experience:
    - It takes WAY too long to nerf problematic cards. Small-Time Buccaneer took nearly half a year to nerf even though it was obviously unbalanced on Day One. Looking further back, same goes for pre-nerf Undertaker
    - Sometimes the nerfs just hit completely wrong targets. Tunnel Trogg + Doomhammer aggro is getting out of hand? Let's nerf Rockbiter Weapon! Even Shammy too good on wild because Baku + Genn are badly designed? Better nerf Flametongue Totem! Jade Druid is getting outta hand, better nerf Hex!
    - And finally, look at all the cards we've gotten from past expansions. How many of them actually see play on Constructed? I'm guessing roughly 10%.
I'm not saying it's realistic to expect 50/50 split on playable cards, but the power levels between cards are so transparent it's not even funny.

They got more than enough money to step up their game, but they just can't be arsed long as packs are selling well enough.

posted a message on Dean Ayala Asks: What Would Get You Back Into Hearthstone?

    1. Taunt bypassing OTKs should be abolished entirely, no fun dying to Cloning Gallery & 2x Mind Blast umphteenth time in a row... those kind of OTKs shouldn't be so consistent. At this point I wouldn't shed a tear if Malygos got HoF'd.

    2. Bring back attrition based Control playstyle! Tournament-wise, Wallet Warrior vs HandLock matchups were infinitely more interesting to watch than Face Hunter vs Odd Rogue.

    3. Smaller, but more frequent expansions. Instead of 4 expansions a year, I'd much rather see 6 or 8 expansions a year with smaller sets to keep the meta more fresh. Seeing same decks four months gets boring, seeing them only two months at a time is far more manageable.

    4. Another way to keep meta more interesting, boost each card tribes for a limited time (2-4 weeks). For example:
    - during Month of the Murloc, each card with Murloc tag could have +1/+1
    - Month of the Elemental, each 4+ Mana Elemental minion comes with Deathrattle "Add Flame Elemental to your hand"

    5. More hero cards like Dr. Boom or Hagatha. They feel strong but not unfair as DKs.

    6. Oh, and more Midrange/Control early drops. Mistress of Mixtures & Tar Creeper both had the right idea, and an Ancient Watcher with Taunt would be nice too.

posted a message on Can we get that Al'Akir buff now? Pretty please?

    Quoted from HS Wiki (https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Al'Akir_the_Windlord):

    • During the game's alpha and beta phases, Al'Akir was generally considered to be an extremely underpowered and undesirable card, widely named one of the worst legendaries in the game. However, as with the value of any card, over time a shifting meta game and new deck types has led players to discover the potential of the card.
    • Ben Brode states that during the game's alpha he was receiving so much negative feedback regarding Al'Akir card that the team very nearly buffed the card, with even top players within Blizzard asking him "How come you made him so bad?!" and asking him to "make this guy good". With Brode having originally pitched the card as a 3/3, Eric Dodds later increased the minion's stats to 3/5, but this was not enough to counter the negative feedback about the card, with the developers eventually scheduling a further buff to 3/7.
However, when the developers examined the alpha's backend stats, Al'Akir was found to in fact have the highest win rate of any legendary in the game at that time. The developers therefore realised that the card was simply under-appreciated, and quickly reverted the planned changes to the card, avoiding making "a pretty terrible mistake".[1] This was the first time the developers used "hard data" to inform balance changes.

Now that devs have butchered both Rockbiter Weapon and Flametongue Totem, Akir is stuck with literally nothing.
Flametongue + Akir is very similar finisher as Grommash + Whirlwind and I don't recall seeing anyone complaining about Grommash's burst damage.

Can we get that Akir buff now or does Team 5 still not care about shaman?
If the answer is no, at least have the decency to swap Kalimos into Classic set.

Well the game isn't going to get cheaper, so you have a decision to make.

Either stop playing, this is a very viable option and there are plenty of cheaper options to spend your recreational time.

Or you accept it and either continue as a f2p player who probably will have access to a handful of decks per expansion or you invest in your hobby and buy some card packs. I do the latter and set myself a limit on how much to spend each month. Sometimes it's nothing but sometimes I'll spend 40 quid in a month. I have all the cards I want in standard to experiment and play around with. I mean in the grand scheme of spending money I could easily and have spent over 150 quid on 1 night out so 40 quid in a month for countless hours and days of fun isn't that much in my opinion.

This game must go cheaper or it will be gone. the game Economy must be fixed immediately.

the game is in rapid decline, Blizzard must act now but instead they did nothing I guess it's because the failure of competition (mainly Artifact)

The game is not in rapid decline.  There is no metric on which you can base that claim.  It's one of the few of Blizzard's ongoing concerns that is a firm cash cow.

You shouldn't make up baseless statements to support your desired conclusion.  It's the age of the internet, and the time it takes to disprove these statements is trivial.

You can check numbers in Twich, many famous streamers left (sjow, savjz, dog), did you hear about dota auto chess?

The company declares there is decline, you can see reports all over the internet just google for "hearthstone decline"

For example: Activision, which reported stable Overwatch monthly active users in its Q3 2018 earnings report but a decline in Hearthstone

Another more relevant metric is Activision Blizzard's stock value, which has sunk since Blizzcon 2018 (Nov 2-3).

When a company's stock value gets nearly halved in just 4 months, you know somebody messed up REAL bad.

posted a message on Why do Priest need VERY good cards in the next Expansion
    Quote from HellOnslaught>>

I know its a lot early, but was just wondering what would happen if the rotation happened today:

List of key cards priest will lose in the next rotation:

    Psychic Scream
    Duskbreaker
    Shadow Visions
    Spirit Lash
    Shadowreaper Anduin
    Twilight's Call
    Radiant Elemental
    Awaken the Makers
    Archbishop Benedictus
    Eternal Servitude
    Lesser Diamond Spellstone

And that leave us with 0 viable decks.

    Good.

Anduin can fuck right off with his Malygos + Velen + Mind Blast + Holy Smite BS.
