As bad as they may get in GoT's it's paltry when compared to how much they butchered the last 2 season of BSG. At least this is still watchable. The last season of BSG was totally unwatchable and a travesty. If they put the night king on the throne in the last episode i'll consider it a successful ending.
I won't stop watching, but damn so many of the good guys have become so dumb they would deserve being killed off. Meanwhile, the way Littlefinger died was pure stupidity. At least Ramseys death was worth watching, Littlefingers was just rediculous to watch after an entire season of him leaning to a wall. Why would a guy who was pulling strings left and right spend an entire season standing next to a wall in Winterfell and then get killed in the most rediculous way.
There have been so many scenes that just didn't make any sense at all and reading some of the comments makes me understand why. There are more people who will watch only to see a happy ending while the people who liked the bittersweet part are a minority worth ignoring.
I am not watching season 8. This is so stupid. GoT used to be super good. I get that they no longer have the books but the quality has dropped so much. I miss the nuance and politics of the early seasons when there had no deus ex machina and characters were in danger. The Littlefinger death was super disappointing. He should have gone out in a blaze of glory and been able to combat each of Sansa's claims. I wish all the characters would be smart. Arya, Sansa, Littlefinger, Jon, Tyrion, and Dany were not idiots before.
Tirion was terrible underused in last seasons, the scene of his trial alone is far better than 90% of the crap TV Shows has to offer.
This is the problem with previous seasons of Game Of Trones, have moments so good and the quality of writing and produce so high we can't stand this crap the show turns.
The problem is not of the producers of the series, they don't have the books anymore, why that old fat guy never end the story for god sake?

I disagree there. Those guys turned the series into an infomercial for their favorit actresses rather then an adaption of the books.
Indira Varma for instance is one of their favorite actresses and therefor they turned the background character of Ellaria Sand into a main character. It's a shame they moved away from the books just for personal preferences.
It's become way too 'on the nose', don't know how else to put it. The death of Littelfinger and Sansa being the cause was always the arch the two characters were on, but the way they excectued it in the show was so ham-fisted it smacked of the writers feeling under some BS external pressure. The show is still fun, but it's not what it was.
First four seasons (in particular the fourth) were fantastic. Fifth was quite bad, last two have been a bit better. Overall, I'll probably just never get over the botching of Stannis. Could probably put together a list of 50 grievances between things they did incorrectly or critical points/quotes from the books that were not delivered. And the shocking deaths of the early seasons turning into "let's butcher as many characters as we can to have enough budget for next season" also got old.
I'd certainly take a prequel over nothing. Honestly, I think he's avoiding the main storyline now because of how depressingly bad the shows have turned it into and how little control he had over it

It is possible but my bet is he don't have any clue anymore how to end this thing. :P
Yea can't imagine Little Finger is entirely out of the picture I don't think he's alive though but he's definitely planned something before he died. Brann definitely actively looked into Baelish's future/past hence why he said "chaos is a ladder" why would he just stand back and let some random person who wasn't LF die? Brann has a bigger purpose for sure but how does LF being alive accomplish his goals?
I think we're giving HBO writers too much credit if any of this were to actually happen I'd be truly shocked.
Why the hate on Arya? - I have waited 6 seasons to see her kick ass and chew bubblegum - by far my favorite GoT character since her development from little girl to faceless assasin is amazing. I hope she get to kill a lot more - Cersei needs to die by her hand!
Sad that the next season is the last, but everything good will come to an end eventuelly.

I stopped watching it after the first season
But i think that you should watch other seasons as well, and this is not addict speaking, the show is really interesting and worth your time.
Bitch i'm Willy Wonka!

The first 2 seasons were great. I stopped watching after they deviated from the plots of the novels.
Ok, ok, after thinking a lot about this, I will watch next season, but only because Jaime Lannister is still alive. :)
