To come back to the first post, Petyr Baelish's death was actually fitting, in my opinion. He was playing a dangerous game and he got overconfident, thinking he could steer Sansa's reasoning towards the conclusion he wanted.
Agreed there, it was actually one of the few unexpected and well built moments we've had since like season 5. But it's not enough of a redeeming moment for an otherwise boring and stale season.
Are you serious guys? Did you watch the same scene as me? Petyr Baelish, the most cunning man in Westeros, acted like a complete idiot there and is one of the reason why I'm so mad. He admitted for no reason in front of the knights of the Vale to have killed Lysa Arryn, sentencing himself to die. How the f...k that makes any kind of sense for someone like Littlefinger? One of the stupidiest moments in the entire TV show. I will never forget the directors for such a dumb decision.
The books are the TRUE story, and we shall see what happens to Littlefinger in the next book. I still was happy to see him die tho. He got caught with his pants down, and Sansa was right there when Peter killed Lysa Arryn, remember? How can he lie about that in front of her, and the Knights of the Vale? If he did lie to everyone there, she would just say: "I was there when you did it, Lord Baelish"
How can you be pissed Peter admitted killing Lysa, when he had no outs?
What? And why the hell they will listen to Sansa without at least giving Littlefinger a chance to defend himself in a court? The knights of the Vale were under his command bro, please.
Hmm that's not how it works in Winterfell. That meeting was "court", and his back was up against the wall. Also, the Knights never liked Littlefinger to begin with lol
Even if the Knights of the Vale "allowed" Littlefinger to defend himself, you think it would had made any difference?
Didn't know that the most honorable place in the entire Westeros is ruled as a tyranny, where the ruler can say whatever shit he or she wants and kill anyone just for pleasure. Also, what makes you think all the knights didn't like Littlefinger? And fiinally, if it is true that Sansa has so much power, what the hell was he doing in Winterfell? Was he retarded? Risking his life for what? Love? LOL.
You think that meeting was not a setup/trap for Littlefinger btw? Sure looked like it to me, and he thought Sansa was under his control. Also, Bran most likely told everyone about Peter's past and what he did before the meeting even started. Because they knew EVERY detail of Peter's past events, and how could they without Bran telling his family, and the knights of the Vale?
P.S. They did not trust/like Littlefinger when he first came to the Vale. Re-watch the season 4...I think that was all the Vale arcs

And who said the contrary? I never said nothing about the meeting being a trap or not dude. Also, again, why the hell the Knights of the Vale would trust in Brann? Even if he would have showed his powers to them, it doens't mean he couldn't lie.

Book Baelish, maybe, would never be as dumb as this - I don't know, I must confess to never having read them. But TV Baelish has been shown to be out of his depth for a while now. The only people he's been successfully manipulating are Sansa - who eventually wised up to his bullshit - and the members of the Vale, who're only loyal to him because of his hold over Robin, really. None of them actually like him, and it doesn't surprise me at all that they'd stand by while he's getting accused.
As for killing off all the villains, no, not all the villains have to die - I'd be fine with a Cersei, Dany or Night King final win, even - but killing him is more about tying up a loose end, really. If he's left to live out his days, people will always be asking - where'd Baelish go? He wanted the Iron Throne so bad, where is he? Why did Sansa let him leave? Where is he hiding - had he escaped or something, I doubt the Vale would house him.
The set up from the last few episodes had one of three outcomes - Sansa is killed by Arya, Arya is killed by Sansa, or Baelish is found out and killed. Even if Sansa hadn't passed the sentence, Arya would've just killed him anyway. This outcome is the best, since its consistent with how all three characters have been in the TV show up 'til now. Maybe Book Baelish is smart enough to have turned the two sisters against each other without them wising up, but TV Baelish has been particularly hamfisted recently, especially in his manipulation of Sansa. It's clear she hasn't trusted him at all since Ramsay.

Well said, and how could he forget the knights of the Vale did not like Littlefinger? That was shown a few years ago in the show etc.

I actually enjoyed season 7 it was much more action packed and shit is getting done. The main theme of the show "Winter is coming" was dragged on for so long. Therefore came the memes "Winter is coming. Eventually..." they had to do things faster they couldn't drag on show for another 20 seasons. Indeed the current season is pretty muched rushed but it's because previous ones were slowed down, they lost their balance.
And Peter's death was kinda enjoyable, never been a fan of him. He had too many fingers in too many pies. And the incest part was pretty funny since Targaryens built their family on their purity of blood. But there are too many coincedences happening. Lets put all the main chars in the same area so they could all have a staring contest. Sure why not?
I don't get it why you are mad about Zombies and Dragon. We all knew that this was gonna happen from season 1. You shouldn't have even started if you knew that you are not a fan of fantasy.
How can you say I'm not a fan of fantasy when I play a game like Hearthstone? Of course I like fantasy, but I don't like stupidity. ;)
It's not stupidity, they are going for what people want. If audience wanted a flying firebreathing zamboni we would get it. Early seasons had shock value to gain audience now they are forced to follow what audience want they've invested serious amount of money into this show, if they kill a major character like Tyrone they would lose a lot of viewers and they don't want that. It's better to lose a 1% of the viewship than 50%. You don't like Dragon and Zombies, a lot of people do. Personally i'd prefer if the show woud be a bit more political.
It is stupidity though. I loved GoT for its uniquely no nonsense, no plot armor, politically intense, non-traditional storyline. I loved the fact that even a lead character like Ned Stark wasn't allowed to get away with making questionable decisions. I loved the fact that any character could just suddenly die, but for very logical reasons; it kept me guessing what would happen next. I'm sure this is the kind of story most of the audience wants, not zombie dragons. I know this because it's how it gained popularity in the first place. Why would they instead, turn the story into a vanilla high fantasy that historically never worked on TV before? If it started as something like that, I wouldn't even have gotten into it in the first place
I like Tyrion but I wouldn't have minded him getting rekt at some point this season just to remind everyone that plot armor doesn't exist here. I think what they're doing to the show now will certainly lose more audience than gain.
That is your opinion. But season 7 is the most popular season of them all so obviously what you what find obnoxious is working. Ofcourse viewership base grows with popularity but after outrage in episode 3 or 4 when Ed Sheeran appeared and everyone claiming how show is a sellout and how everything is rushed and that they are going to quit and yet it's still even more popular than before. They are adjusting to the viewers you have to understand that. I've mentioned before that it's better for them to lose 1% intead of 50%. And i'll bet that season 8 is gonna be even more popular, despite claims of many that they are going to quit the show. It's simple supply and demand. Their goal is to make money.
No, Game of Thrones isn't a show that you put down or pick up in the middle. People threatening to quit are probably just being dramatic. You'd want to know the ending of a story like this even if the show goes bad. People who get into the show will start with old season 1 videos or else they wouldn't have a clue what's happening. These people keep watching because of the merits of season 1, not for zombie dragons in season 7. People who didn't like season 1 will probably not keep watching up to the point to see the zombies that they might like better instead. Why do you think "zombie dragons" appeals to the masses anyway? Game of Thrones historically had great ratings, meanwhile a critically acclaimed vanilla high fantasy TV show has never existed before. Most of the top rated shows are there for great, logical plot, not CGI and visuals

Not sure what any of you guys were expecting. Few things are certain in a book as unpredictable as this but his death is one of them. For one thing, the realm (and thus the story) can't rest until this guy is dead. I was prepared for this since Littlefinger left his book-self behind in the Vale. Leaving his book storyline meant the writers aren't relying on Martin for the rest of his arc. Plotting out Littlefinger's schemes properly requires having the wits to think like the man, and the show writers weren't up for it; most people aren't. He just wasn't himself since the show writers took over. It's a pity. Littlefinger is my single most favorite character in the books
Are you for real dude? I said: "what makes you think all the knights didn't like Littlefinger?". Now tell me were it says or has been shown that ALL the knights of the Vale didn't like Littlefinger.
Can you point out any of the prominent leaders of the Vale - not counting Robin, the sweet innocent idiot that he is - that have been shown to like Baelish? Does... does anyone in the show anymore like Baelish? I think the last person - again, discounting Robin - that actually actively liked him was Lysa.
Knights of the Vale are knights, they'll do what their leaders tell them. I can't think of any of the shown main characters who liked Baelish, or who would stick out their neck to support him against the accusations.

Is this a joke? Baelish was their leader in that room dude.
Re-watching season 1 through and it's evident just how bad the last season was. Mostly due to the bad actors in Jon Snow and Sansa left, I would have flipped if they got rid of Jaime or Bron.

Yeah, I agree that killing off LF like this felt a little off, but at the same time I NEVER saw it coming that sansa and arya were in cohoots the whole time, and the revelation felt awesome, in a "reverse red wedding" kind of way. Not sure if given a few days my opinion won't change though. I suppose it was one of those moments that feels better as an individual event than in the grand scheme of the whole series, similar to Tywin/Ramsay's death(which both felt good to watch at the time, but caused the show to become stale in the long run).
I agree with some of the criticisms, the show is in decline, but get some perspective, it's still the best thing on T.V by a fucking mile. People are going a bit overboard - it's not exactly gone totally 'Phantom Menace' yet...
I bet most of you who say you are done with the show will be tuning in to watch the next season - you won't be able to complain about it online otherwise.
Is it really the best TV show out there anymore? Do ended shows count? Because I'd say Breaking Bad, Mr Robot, Sherlock, House of Cards, Luther, Damages and a few period shows that nobody's heard about were around the same level before the book material ran out and now surpass GoT as the best shows. The last few episodes were glorified, well-financed fan fictions

Imho, best HBO ever did is Rome. It's well up there with the shows you mentioned.

AKA one of "a few period shows that nobody's heard about" ;)
Why should Littlefinger deny it? Sansa was with him, Bran is a seer?
Sure, game of thrones isn't perfect since it has passed the books but it is still awesome.

Am i the only one that was really happy when Theon finally got some guts?
Stopped watching after season 5, myself. Too much unnecessary deviation from the books, and character assassination.
And without the Mannis there's no real point.
Pretty much everyone gets killed fighting the Others, including Daenerys and Jon. :D
