I'm so bored when playing an opponent using C'Thun deck. All of it depends on this card, you just need to complete all cards that has C'thun effect and you can win the game. there's no more deck creativity on this Old Gods expansion
There are so many cards that have nothing to do with C'Thun this expansion, that open up so many possibilities for new decks and crazy stuff, plus not everyone plays C'Thun, your post is completely irrelevant.
I have to disagree with "all of it depends on this card". I have played a lot of C'Thun games (many mirror matches included) and it was over before either player had a C'Thun hit the board.
I feel like we knew this was coming, blizz gift wrapped c'thun archetype for EVERYBODY. Naturally ppl will play that first. I'm just glad it isn't overpowered. With the exception of warrior, most c'thun decks you can just face against and win before it matters that c'thun is 15/15 and so long as you keep a good form of removal, if it doesn't kill you with battlecry, you just remove it and that was their trick.
OP is kind of right this expansion so far has brought nothing but Cthun cookie cutter decks for every class. If you lay anything outside of the cookie cutter deck you're going to get wrecked.
I agree that it's not very inspiring to build or to play, but it's a nice way to start for new players. Or would you rather force them into facehunter? Other than that, I am not too impressed with it's power so far and think that the number of players using it will dwindle soon. It's just that people want to try out the new toy, and because C'thun decks more or less build themselves it's the obvious first try. Not to worry, in a few days Kolento reaches #1 legend with another deck and then everyone will switch to that...
In casual, everyone and their mother is playing a C Thun deck. Every damn game is only about playing (the exact same) C Thun minions on curve and trading with opposing minions until you can slam C Thun.
Can it get more boring than this??
Yes.
Game 1: "Greetings, traveler." "Bring out your dead." "I feel icky." "Mind if I roll neeeeeeed?"
Game 2: "Greetings, travel." "Bring out your dead." " I feel icky." "Mind if I roll neeeeeeeed?"
Game 3: "Greetings, traveler." "Bring out your dead." "I feel icky." "Mind if I roll neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed?"

First deck I made was evolve shaman, even unrefined it doesn't lose to Cthun decks outside of Warrior.
I'm glad someone said it. The whole idea of building a large portion of an expansion around a single card, although cute and innovative, goes against everything that makes CCGs what they are. C'Thun is essentially a "Basic" Legendary, because everyone has it.
If you really hate it, play a tempo deck. Most of the cards C'Thun decks play leading up to C'Thun are just vanilla minions (except Emp and Klaxxi). Realistically, you should be able to build a deck that can outtempo them because their cards have to pay a (small) value cost to buff C'Thun. If you can hold the board against them, most of them don't really have a way back other then dropping minions and hoping they stick.

although cute and innovative Have you ever played a card game outside of this one? This may be new for hearthstone, but the idea of building a deck around a legendary is nothing new. MTG has tons of legendaries, especially ones made for EDH, that require you to build a deck around them with cards that support them quite directly to be good. SO no, it doesn't go against what CCGs are, maybe in your little idea of what a CCG should be, but the idea of opening packs to get cards that go towards a specific deck doesn't sound that new to me.

As a lover of casino decks, I can't say a bad word about WoG so far. Yogg-Saron, Hope's End and Renounce Darkness are so much fun, that I'm having a blast in hearthstone lately. If you're one of those competitive dudes out there, then you should maybe switch to MTG :-D
For casino lovers: Try new Yogg tempo mage, Renounce Darkness-lock with [card]Shifter Zerus[/card] and of course improved Ancestral Druid deck with Yogg, [card]Soggoth the Slitherer [/card] and [card]Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound[/card]
Could you possibly link me a good renounce darkness build?

Hello.
There will be new stuffs in near future but yes C'Thun decks are boring as hell.

Yogg-Saron, Hope's End might have a word with you ....
Try yogg-saron mage. I guarantee it's the most fun you will ever have playing HS.
RIP yogg-saron good things don't last forever :(

Of course C'thun is a boring deck, it's a beginner's deck.
But if you think this is boring, how did you feel about Minibot-Muster-Shredder every game?
Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
Well it's because C'Thunis free and because there are alot of cards that work with him. When the dust settles there will be new and better decks.
