There's only one reason why Team 5 would nerf DH so fast: they already knew DH was busted as hell, they just didnt have enough data to pinpoint which cards were the biggest offenders.
That basically means what we played yesterday wasnt the first day of the expansion, it was a BETA PHASE. Blizzard just turned their entire HS player base into beta testers w/o their consent.
Hell, there are even streamers praising them for making balance changes so fast, its like the rat telling the scientist "thank you for ending my suffering so soon!"
That is so EVIL and BRILLIANT at the same time, its hilarious! My feelings are a mix of disgust and admiration: disgust for how they treated us like lab rats w/o any warning, admiration for having the balls to actually do it and making it work.
If becoming beta testers allows them to fix the game this fast, i'd be more than happy to become one, just wish they didnt have to lie saying their expansion was "finished".
Anyone complaining about this Frankly doesn’t understand the difference between a small play test team and a play test base of a few hundred thousand people. I wouldn’t say they knew it would be busted, despite the on paper power level of some of the cards, because it’s very common for cards to be hailed as good or broken and then be total trash. I wouldn’t be shocked if they wanted to see what the player base would do with and against Demon Hunter to fine tune the class more than they could on their own.
The class has very obvious very exploitable weaknesses. Any amount of healing and a big target are tough to handle. We’ll see how these changes work out in the grand scheme of things. I’m predicting a nerf to Priestess of Fury as well. It along with Antaen is a lot for any class to handle. The 2 really shouldn’t be bale to go face with their abilities which would relegate them tmore of a control roll than a derpy face deck roll.
Not gonna lie, I had a blast playing/playing against DH yesterday. It may be broken but the playstyle and the pace of the class is so much fun. By far my favorite. Haven't had this much fun since playing rogue back in "vanilla" HS. I just hope they don't nerf the class to death over time.
Making repeated tweaks is super cheeky when players have to invest time and currency into decks. The nerf discounts dont compensate for all the cards that have been made less playable, and changes make ‘owning’ the cards feel less real
They need a staging area like in Diablo 3’s PTR for iterative changes before release
The expediency of those nerfs look promising toward what is really wanted: monthly changes. If a deck is performing super well it isnt a coincadence that the ppl playing it are good. It's because polarizing cards. Monthly or better yet bimonthly tweeking is required for keeping this game from being stale... You know, like how it always gets .
Every expansion has the "This is too op and makes the game unplayable. Why did no one tested this. Blizzard can't balance" deck. RR had kingsbane rouge,RoS had Bomb warrior, SoU had quest shaman, DoD had galakrond shaman and now we have midrange Deamonhunter. The truth is just that it is really hard to test if a card is just very good or if it is too good, especially with an entirely new class.
well, i personally won't think of any conspiracies like hs players become team 5's lab rat over a balance change that happened so fast, i think it's actually good that they don't wait any longer to do a balance change unlike in the past where they wait like a few month's to do a balance change.
I hated the first day of the expansion. But they have acted really fast, and I appreciate that. Also, 1300 free dust is quite nice. It's my consolation of having a bad first day, and their price to pay for bad balancing honestly.
Everyone is complaining, but don't you think that Blizzard is actually doing a gret job? I mean, have you ever seen nerfs on day 2? Well there have never been nerfs on day 2. Even with op af decks like Gala Shaman, or good ol' face hunter, we had to wait for more tha a week untill Blizzard reacted. I understand why would people complain about a busted 73% winrate class, but why the hell are you complaining about Blizzard's fast reaction? It's like complaining about a bad boss and than also complain when they fire him...
I’ve been trying to be pretty level headed about this whole debacle...but I think after almost 4 years I may be done with this game. The new MMR has been such a frustrating m, awful experience and now this steaming turd. Why the fuck am I wasting my time and money on this??
Good on them for acting quickly. Bad on them for not realizing how crazy strong those cards are. (It took me about 6 games to know they were rediculous)
We will likely see a round 2 of these nerfs.
My guess would be that withing Blizzard, some testers and designers realized these were crazy but they were over-ruled by others who either doubted that, or just had the priority of getting players really excited about this new class.
Right now, the folks that favored the latter need to be eating some crow.

i hate playing against DH. They play so many cards each turn and attack with their hero. Then it’s your turn and you maybe play 1 card or 2. what else can you do with 4-6 mana crystals.
really gives me shudderwock vibes. Annoying to watch and sit through. And the worst is if you are winning they just concede. You can’t even hit their face once with a big minion. There is no satisfaction in winning if you win at all.

What do you guys think about all this?
Yup we pay them in time and/or money and they use us as beta testers.
leaves a bad taste in my mouth... I don’t want to play until things are fixed.

Whether or not it was intentional matters little to me at the moment. I'm just hoping the class gets the balance hammer it desperately needs.
At this point I just want my Force of Nature combo back.
Un-nerf it so 14 becomes relevant again.
Especially to Malfurion's brother.

I want to ask for a refund. As I paid for the pre-order I pretend they test their shit BEFORE the release. All the other considerations are bullshit.

Whelp I am out for now, this has been just too much for me. What a god awful, shit experience this new ranking system and expansion has been.
