Streamers, like Kripp, are totally ignoring the issue. Their greed turns my stomach. Kripp is already a multi millionaire, grow some balls.
His master is Blizzard, and Blizzard's master is China, he is litearlly powerless unless he wants to risk losing a business he's built for almost a decade. I don't blame him but I surely judge him, but again IS ANYONE SURPRISED!?!?!?! It's all a business, morals and ethics do not play into these people's lives, if you're only now discovering this because it's so overtly obvious you are in for a rough life.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
Through their ups and downs, I've always considered Blizzard to be the company that sets the bar for all other game developers. I've regarded them as a company who delivers high quality products on principle, a standard that you wish was more common of any business.
I'm dumbfounded and feel betrayed by their decision to become pawns to an authoritarian bully. While I can only admire the spirit and common humanity of the Hong Kong protestors from across the entire world, the one thing I can do for them is uninstall Hearthstone and every other Blizzard game and never give them another cent.
I urge others, do not take your freedom for granted. Shame on Blizzard, shame on the NBA and may their cowardly attempts to protect their bottom line ironically lead to their undoing.
Suddenly so much drama. Even in "democratic" countries some person being too loud on some "unethical" topics eventually get democratized, cause spherical democracy in a vacuum is an illusion, same as "communist threat" somebody mentioned here.
Umm, just in case, I'm not a fan of activision/blizzard for quite a long time.
The devil here is the Chinese authoritarian government. If Blizzard allowed the kid to stay on, they would of been banned from the Chinese market by the government so Blizzard would be losing millions from their customers.
Blizzard is a business so you can't blame them for this decision. Different people have different morals.
No we can blame blizzard for any decision they make, they might have no moral values but I have them.
We are not arguing here what blizzard did was legal or illegal you see for me what blizzard did was immoral and I am going to fkn disrepute them in every platform I attend.
I'll say it again, they are a business. They won't lose millions of profits from the Chinese market because of some kid showing support for Hong Kong. Blizzard are following the rules of the Chinese government.
Yes, hiding behind rules and profits to hide lack of personal ethics. Why generic prescription drugs few dollars worth, bought by a company, suddenly increased price by 10000% is met with deserved outrage? I suppose you are ok with that too. After all, it's a business, right?
You're acting like Blizzard is the only company who is doing this. Businesses have always cared about profits for years.
What Blizzard is doing ain't nice but that's how most of the shareholders think in all the big companies.
That's enough that I want to hear from you: it ain't nice. Which means you have some ethical skills somewhere.
they’re not wrong. What are you going to do about it to show that you care? Probably not much, so they don’t really have a reason to think otherwise.
Your logic is twisted, which makes your point, well, pointless, and meaningless. No correlation between point 1 and point 2, certainly not to prove "they're not wrong". These are the kind of comments people with common sense have to ignore because they only devolve intelligent debate and discussion to a worthless waste of time.
tl;dr People who can't use basic logic to prove points shouldn't be engaged in intelligent discussion. I'm pointing this out so others who have a more difficult time seeing through this can be on the same wavelength as people who in earnest care about proper debate.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
NBA is doing the exact same thing with the Rockets GM tweets. Politics are bad for business. Money is the core of American institutions, not integrity. This is expected behavior unfortunately.
And yet we can choose which institutions to support. If you don’t like an institution’s stance, don’t support them. Speak with your wallet.
Streamers, like Kripp, are totally ignoring the issue. Their greed turns my stomach. Kripp is already a multi millionaire, grow some balls.

Kripp doesn’t need Blizzard money any more, when you’re as rich as him you can choose to have morals. He’s a multi millionaire. But he doesn’t, because his greed is seemingly boundless. He could easily have made a silent protest, with no repercussions, by simply not streaming today.
Re. business and morality, I (and many other people) make a good living, whilst also having a moral code. It’s not particularly difficult, just pick your industry and don’t be a scumbag.
Guys. Seriously. A "no politics rule" is conpletely normal for all sports. Seriously. To enforce this has the benefits of not having political discussions (like this one) after each GM match, because someone did say something pro China, the other Pro Hong Kong. This rule has reasons and it makes sports apolitical, which is good.
Enforcing this does *not* say that Blizzard agrees or disagrees with HK, it says that they want politics out of this.
Imagine Blizzard would have not done this. Suddenly the whole GM will be about who speaks out against China, which player does not and is loyal. You have discussions about who wears a red shirt and discussions about Taiwan.
That is NOT an environment that is good for Hearthstone.
Again, the cause might align with your view, but you nees to separate this here.

People should be questioning the moral ethics of their own government. They demand you to pay taxes through force or you get sent to jail, they test biological chemicals on the public without your consent, they make economies less competitive through regulations yet people never talk about it. As long as the government exists, your rights will never be safe. I've got a couple of videos which are worth watching, i can link them to you if you want in a private message.
Are people actually blaming kripp for streaming? This is literally the communist argument. Why are you so attached to his capital? It’s not yours. Just like the capital that Blitzchung used to shill his political views off of was not his. But hey if you want be a hypocrite and complain about a communist regime oppressing their laborers then come and complain about kripps right to use capital I guess you are entitled to your opinion. There are places for that, just not off the backs of blizzards.

Way to miss the point COMPLETELY. He hasn't addressed the controversy at all; at least bother to understand what people are frustrated about before you go off on some rambling, irritated rant about nothing specific.

given it was during an event and tolerating such behavior would end with activision getting shut out of a potential 1.2 billion consumer market that would hurt they stock price, what can you expect. It would be worse if this was off-event social media, and I could understand the backlash.
Theres no reason to decry ethics in this proxy war of pr, so long as china still has economic power they will continue to swing their clout as they want and corporations will have to yield.
You just have to support the continued decay of chinese economic soft power via other means if you want corporations to go against them.
This is pretty disgusting imo. Been an HS player since June 2016 and have probably spent around 800 Canadian - not happy and not sure if I will continue playing this game.
I apologize I didn't read all six pages, so if I'm not the first to observe this . . . I'm sorry.
But . . .
In addition to all of the other possible complaints about kow towing to Chinese political will, has anyone realized this means that Pathra probably isn't going to get the relegation she so richly deserves?
I have been wanting to launch a You Tube miniseries based solely around the bad plays featured prominently in her GM league play, and it looks like I'll have another year of material.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
Streamers, like Kripp, are totally ignoring the issue. Their greed turns my stomach. Kripp is already a multi millionaire, grow some balls.
Well he allows everyone to spam whatever they want (and they do) .
Most others ban any pro-Honkong spam since "its not the place to do so" or something like that. Kibler and Firebat will do a statement later/on Omnistone.
And in Kripps case i would say , he shows hes pro free speech without saying anything..

Blizzard took my money from Blitzchung.
Shoulda just banned him. No reason to withhold pay for the person who won the tournament fair and square.
Uninstalled today like many others.

they just don't understand the repercussions and ripple effects this'll hopefully have. i'll celebrate their downfall with every action like this
