Frodan says: "Still in shock after hearing what's planned for @PlayHearthstone 2020. The developers remain as passionate as ever. They haven't given up on the game. Not even close.

Wow, it's almost like the guy is paid to promote the game! LUL

Bad. It felt low effort to me. Weak designs, bad art, dull cards.

posted a message on Advice for Getting Back in to the Game?

Best advice is to play a better game, like MtG Arena or LoR. Just my opinion. Hearthstone is clearly a game in decline.

    Quote from HiGuy >>

Not much content in this game to make things interesting.  Even after new expansion i get bored after 1 or 2 weeks .  Nowadays i lost interest even in completing daily quest .  Wild games are boring after awhile too .  What are your thoughts ?

Pretty much. The problem is the Adventure - it was a huge disappointment.

posted a message on What are your thoughts about LoR

LoR is pretty good, it is certainly more interesting and more skill testing and than modern HS, which Discover has turned into an RNG fiesta. Since the latest Adventure turned out to be trash, I am mainly playing LoR and MtG currently.

The new Adventure is trash. I just speed through it ASAP to get the cards. Not sure I’ll even bother with Heroic.

it is very strange that they suddenly decided to return to the old system of receiving cards đź¤”

Not strange at all. They just increased the cost of playing Standard.

The fun of HS, for me, was always trying to hand read and play around what my opponent might have. That is how the game used to be.

Today, there are so many random cared generators, with lackeys being a prime example, that you can only legitimately see the game as casual fun. It certainly is not a high-skill, competitive game any more.

That was a deliberate design choice by Blizzard, probably linked to Twitch and YouTube (Blizzard wanted more highlights for social marketing). But it ruined the game, in my opinion.

Glad you found the game, it’s great (and very generous with cards). The art is also incredible. I’ve played since beta. There is a newcomers thread on r/Gwent and the community is very helpful to new players.

posted a message on Are you still having fun with HS?

Hearthstone has been superseded by other, more interesting. more skill-intensive games. The devs have failed to meet community expectations, so it's just slowly declining.

I have fun with the new expansion for maybe 2 weeks. That is certainly not worth paying hundreds of dollars for. I basically just quit the game, until the next expansion/update.

posted a message on Is it better to save gold or buy packs?

Save gold for the adventure. After it drops, wait to see what the cards are like. Then decide whether to buy all, or some, wings, or craft the cards you need (if there aren’t many important ones) and buy packs.

It looks like Swim is involved, so the game is doomed. Every game he’s ever touched has died.

posted a message on (Poll) Are We Willing to Give up Dust Refunds for Frequent Balance Patches?

If they are only testing manually, sure, but that means they’re doing it wrong. Blizzard have access to all the server side data. They could easily use an ML approach to achieve optimal balance before release, but they don’t want to spend the resources on it. They would rather just “eyeball it” and then adjust cards based on played match data and feedback. Multi-million dollar dCGs should do a lot better, imo.

    Quote from GHOSTDUSTER >>

No it shouldn’t be given up. I think if blizzard needs the motivation to not give back dust then they’ll simply do more to play test before release. Honestly a lot of these things that need nerds should have simply never been released in their current form. I guess my answer is learn from mistakes and make cleaner releases from the start.

This. How TF did the devs not realise that Galakrond Shaman was busted? They are incompetent.
