I rope every turn, except when I have lethal, in which case I just win. I even rope turn one, even if I have no 1 mana plays.
Why?
1) Even if my play is seemingly obvious (like the hellfire example OP provided), sometimes there are better plays in the long run. Maybe I have a lot of healing in hand and can absorb 12 damage, and I can bait my opponent into getting more value from my hellfire.
2) Even if I determine my play early in the turn, I use the remaining time to predict and plan future turns.
3) It takes time to write down cards played (both me and my opponent), taking notes, etc. I always use pen and paper. Using a tracker program dulls my skill when it is time for tournaments where tracker programs are not available.
4) It tilts kids like you.

Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Turn durations were already sped up in the past from 1min 30 sec to 1 min 15. You have to take into consideration your opponents too. Maybe they were planning ahead or something like that. Not everyone are playing fast. I consider myself a fast turn player and even I sometimes rope in ultimate Control vs Control matchup in late game.
Agreed. Sometimes you also need the extra time to pull off a turn you know you are going to make. For example, with my deck in the sig I need almost the full turn and that is even with playing my cards right away as soon as my turn starts. From what I've seen other decks like the Topsy Turvy combo creates a similar position, especially if the opponent has taunts up.
Though OP I do feel your pain. Some turns are simply chalked up to 'Play this obvious card or pass' kind of turn so there isn't always a need to plan out your next 5 moves then.
Sometimes it’s because people have a slow connection ..: I have friends who occasionally take forever to do something and it’s not because they’re being annoying as much as it is the gap between making an action and the game catching up to it. It doesn’t change anything but it’s something to think about when you’re about ready to lose it over how long the opponent is taking ... they may be equally frustrated themselves.
I try to do my thinking on the opponent's turn and take mine immediately. This saves me time and it's in part out of consideration for the opponent's time too. IMO, unless you're in a tournament/high legend where perfect play matters, or taking a reasonably complex turn, roping is downright rude
In addition to making some assumptions about another player's connection and device, it has been my experience that more often than not the "obvious" play is only obvious because you're not a good enough player to think of some of the less obvious ones. As much as folks want to pretend this game is a glorified dice roll, taking a few moments will increase your win rate IF you have the skills to spot the less obvious stuff.
If you really feel the need to argue this point, go back and watch Sintolol vs Frozen in the HCT Worlds Quarterfinals.
If you're honest with yourself, you'll see 5 or 6 instances where the "obvious" play to you turns out to be definitively wrong.
I'd rather make you wait AND beat you than lose AND keep to your schedule. That's just me though.

not complaining about someones thinking. I always play combo decks so i think a lot too. however he deliberately waits after using all his mana. thats kill my joy.
I don't begrudge my opponent taking time to think. I only get angry at players who deliberately rope throughout the game, even on turn one, just to waste my time, and try to force me to concede out of frustration. There really ought to be a way to discourage that behavior.

5) You have no life and it's not important enough to play a little bit faster because what else are you going to do. Go outside? Lol! Spend time with friends or family? LOL wut friends and family?
I used Nozdormu in some decks long time ago. I won against many control decks because of him. normal slow players got frozen, it was funny as hell.. XD
Intentionally taking long turns is annoying, I understand that some turns require more thought than others but I'm sure we have all played someone before who does nothing on turn 1 but hit end turn just before the rope ends. Spends their entire second turn doing nothing but hero power just as the rope is about to end etc.
If you don't feel confident enough in your deck or knowledge of the deck, then you should be practicing in casual mode. If you want to be a try hard who thinks every match is akin to a game in a big prize pool tournament, I got bad news for you. If you just want to be annoying and hope you'll get 1 out of 100 to concede from frustration, then congrats your an ass.

How dare your opponent play a deck that requires thinking about more than just playing cards on curve. What a scumbag!
Why can't people just find their way to the salt thread...

“take your time to think is not a bad thing, sometimes even when i have the answer in my hand, i have in mind if i'll need it later for“
But you have the answer in your hand why do you need to think if you’re going to get the second copy when the dam card is right in front of you.

my turns are like 5secs long cuz my opponents give me an extra minute every turn to plan, lol
and if they rope deliberately i rope too without emoting anything, once they play normal again i do too
in a "so you wanna play like this? ok, i do that, too, how you like that?"-way
seems to work most of the time
Only time roping is fun with Control Priest against aggro.
Like i'm watching a movie, i put a alarm on my phone when i'm about to rope and i just use 1 spell to kill all their shit.
Jk im not like that i promise
Because it tilts players like you.
But sometimes players are actually considering their play line rather than spewing their hand.
