Nerfing the only viable rogue deck, not because it's unfair, not because it's a meta tyrant, but just because, when played skillfully, it's fun and can win. Completely predictable, and yet, utterly disappointing.
I expect the buffs will also be too weak and will fail to affect the meta much, just like last time.
The balance team has a lot of work to do to win back my respect.
I'm not sure, but I think you're saying that Blizzard planned to feign a response to community anger over this change. I can only agree.
It doesn't take a complete cynic to imagine that Blizzard anticipated that the change to quest rewards would be met with outrage, and planned all along to scale the changes back, by a token amount. They still achieve the effect of providing far fewer rewards to FTP and casual players, and simultaneously reap unmerited credit for their "response" to the opinions of the player base.
Corporations make this kind of public relations calculation over unpopular policies all the time, and over matters that have much higher stakes than Hearthstone rewards. They're not "responding." They're attempting to manipulate opinion.
They omit any mention of the bug concerning Runes of Darkness that allows Staff of the Primus to have a freeze effect. This is an unintentional "buff" that players are actively exploiting. I guess blizzard is too busy making weekly quests more difficult to complete to pay attention to such matters.
I see this frequently, too, and I really don’t understand the reason for it. Do they expect me to concede just because they’re frustrating me? That’s not happening; I want to win as much as they do, I just won’t descend to such rude tactics. The last thing I’m going to do is concede.
Blizzard just doesn’t do enough to police this game and discourage players from annoying others. It’s too easy to avoid the AFK timer by hitting end turn at the last possible moment every turn. Blizzard should be able to detect play patterns like that and warn or censure players who engage in them.
Just patch notes without an indecipherable graphical pre-announcement announcement ? Just the facts, without having to decipher cryptic pictograms? Have my prayers been answered? Has Blizzard truly gotten the message that announcing announcements doesn’t do anyone any good? Or is this just a temporary reprieve?
In any case, I’m worried that the nerfs to Yogg and Prison Breaker are effectively also nerfs to Rogue, and that class won’t be able to compete with resurgent warrior and warlock decks. We’ll just be back to prior meta, where warrior was %20 of the decks played. As a rogue main, and FTP (screw Kotick, he can’t have my money) I’m concerned I’m going to be shut out of the game.
I’m sorry, but I don’t buy that explanation. Blizzard has no problem producing patch notes, in a variety of languages, in time for each patch, which usually follows just shortly after these teasers. And you can’t convince me that these graphics require any less effort to produce . And if they didn’t provide official translations, there would be plenty of volunteers to produce informal ones.
I think Blizzard just chooses to turn out these teasers in the mistaken belief that they generate more hype for the game,
Why these damn teasers? Just tell us what you’re going to nerf! In! Plain! English!
I don’t really understand why they chose to nerf Coppertail. It doesn’t seem like an overpowering card. I think mech rogue would prefer a different mech if one were offered at 3 mana. Nerfing it, say to 4 mana, would hurt mech rogue a lot simply because there isn’t a good alternative.
I think it’s possible because rogue is suffering by constantly matching up with warriors, warlocks and priests against whom they are at a serious disadvantage. The meta has swung heavily against rogue, imho. I’m guessing the next VS report will reflect that.
why the hell can’t they just say what’s getting nerfed and buffed?? Why be coy? It’s completely pointless. And as if anyone knows all the cards on sight and can make sense of this anyway.

Same. It seems that I get progress for games played, but not for completing the daily quest.
With every patch, the quality of the game client declines measurablely. I think Blizzard is neglecting QA.

Are those LARP-ing foam daggers?

This is the first blue post of the new year? Inauspicious.

Don’t donate to Kotick’s golden parachute.

It’s Tuesday. Where is the balance patch? Isn’t this the day they usually push patches?

Before the mini set, my opponents constantly altered between just two classes, warrior and warlock. Now, all I face is warrior and warlock.
