I wish I was legend, where you can actually enjoy the game because the people tend to have all cards and like to try new things but on gimp rank 10 no way.
So Odd Paladin is still viable? It looked like it was going to get destroyed by all the countertech to agro in Boomsday.
I played Clonemaster Zerek priest, Mech warrior and some Whizbang. I had most fun with Zerek priest, maybe guys who find the expansion boring should try it.
You're not alone. I'm having fun! I agree with a lot of the critical observations, but that doesn't mean I'm not having fun.
Zilliax feels surprisingly underwhelming... and still facing shudderwock shamans 50+% of the time :(
I'm sadly annoyed Shudderwock is still so good.
Zilliax has won me a handful of aggro mirrors. But I can see how he's pretty useless against control.
I literally haven't faced a single shaman that WASN'T playing shudderwock. It was already a good deck and it feels like it just got better with the addition of the card that draws a spell that costs 5 or more. Gauranteeing they draw volcano on curve.
Well, lost against another Mecha'Thun, a Rogue this time. I avoided killing him, I thought we were having fun, him stealing cards from my deck, me stealing cards from his deck, getting random legendaries, but nope, he straight up Mecha'Thuned me.
Honestly the general rule is unless they play Cho from hand ungenerated (as in they put it in their deck purposely) and they aren't a friend, assume they are planning to win.
I have a Tess deck I cherish and love to play with, but no matter how silly the deck acts, I'm looking for the kill and expecting the same. While I WOULD play around if I knew they would rather be silly, I probably wouldn't recognize even a skipped lethal as an honest attempt at being silly.
Though yeah if I EVER see Cho played, I'm assuming all bets are off and it's meme city. Otherwise, probably better to go find some allies to play in a group.
I'm honestly really surprised that so many people are seeing the same decks as before.
I've been having the opposite experience - I'm at rank 2 right now and I'm seeing almost all new decks other than heal Zoo here and there. I've faced mech-control warrior, Mecha'thun ... everything, bunny hopper rogue, and even a couple new deathrattle hunters. A lot of the new decks seem very strong, maybe even disconcertingly so. Even the decks that have been around forever, like zoo, are playing 5-8 new cards.
I'm having a blast with Bunny Hopper rogue, and I'm eager to try out some of the new hunter stuff. I'm excited about the cards, but slightly concerned about the power level of a couple of decks.
I for one loved the first day. Lots of great mech decks out there that I've seen and I really love how the magnetic attribute REALLY shakes up play. The fear that a 1/5 with taunt is suddenly going to become a 6/10 going for you face the next turn if you don't deal with it is SO different. Lots of interactions to think through with the various goblin bombs and deathrattle effects, too.
Overall, great first impression! The only criticism I have is that there were no special quests to launch the new expansion - I loved that about past expansions. I miss getting some kind of special launch-day quests that award you a few extra packs.
Fun so far, but in about 4-5 days that'S gonna change for the worse. Big Druid is a fucking powder keg waiting to dominate the meta (in a sexual way, they are actually going to FUCK YOU IN THE ASS) because of stupid Master Oakheart insta-win. There's currently no viable deck to beat turn 3-5 Oakheart, so there's that.
Other than that Zoolock will probably run the aggro game, with Odd Pally following close behind (Giggling Inventor is one hell of a card)
The only consolation is that because of Big Druid, maybe POgo rogue will see actual play as a "reliable" counter (Vanish is pretty much the only hope at this point, unless you show me a working Pally deck that gets Equality+Consec on turn 3 consistently)
The hearthstone community has been worknig hard to ruin teven the brief experimentation period, or reduce it to zero, with massive stickied deck lists on reddit :(
Arena is where its at boys, new expansions are for sure lots of fun still there.
Tempo/Midrange is the new control. Aggro is the new tempo/midrange. Combo is some sort of abomination that beats anything that doesn't have a fantastic curve so long as they don't get extremely unlucky draws.
Everyone got it all wrong: aggro is what got deleted from Hearthstone with the introduction of combo decks, not control.
Giggling Inventor is great in evolve shammy. It's sort of like Doppelgangster, slightly slower, but it sticks and does a great job keep your board intact for a big evolve battlecry. So much better when the meta isn't figured out, you can actually have fun with pretty much any build and win.
I'm having a blast with the Bunny Hop Rouge. Can't stop laughing!
“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”
I absolutelly love the clown fiesta that is Casino Mage with the new cards.

FINALLY!! Good to hear.
Am having lots of fn with Cauldron Burgle Rogue :P
I'm tired of Mecha'Thun already.
Any new thoughts after the aggro => hyper control circle jerk of yesterday?
Odd Mech Paladin has been my favorite thing to play so far. It feels like Dude Paladin used to feel. Plus, Kangor's Endless Army is just neat.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
finally get to play control warrior again in standard at least, but wild is so infested with togwaggle druids that I can't play reno mage anymore.
Formerly Sneeds. Twitch merge locked me out of my old account :(

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

I wasn't planning on going for a run today. But those cops came out of nowhere.
