This interaction just occurred to me and I am a little confused by it.
Precursor - my understanding of the mechanic could be wrong here. I am happy to be corrected.
So, let’s assume I am playing an ‘Odd only’ deck. I play the Jungle Giants quest.
I complete the quest and play Barney making all of minions in my deck cost 0 mana. As previously mentioned by Blizzard (I think?), 0-mana cards count as Even cards.
Does this now mean I cant use the Odd-only cards I built my deck with?
if so, it seems like a horrible interaction - basically the deck beats itself. I realise this is not the end of the world here (hardly tier 1 breaking mayerial) - but am I right in thinking that you wont be able to do an Odd Jungle Giants deck because of this problem?
Obv the Start of Game mechanics wont be affected - but not all the cards we’ve seen so far employ this.
Does it really matter? Without ultimate infestation the deck wont work anyway.
Nourish performs a similar task fairly well to refill your hand.
Assuming a deck wont work just because of one card is pretty naive at best. And thats assuming there isnt another card that can fulfill this function too.
Since odd/even cards have such a heavy downside, their power levels will naturally be higher to compensate. So considering how strong UI is, its quite safe to assume there will be an even stronger version to replace it.

where does it say you can't use them? It only affects its "start of the game" effect for baku and greymane.
there's no restriction as to play those cards in decks with odd and even costed cards. You'll only miss their battlecries (and/or deathrattles if applies)

Moreover, Druids existed before Frozen Throne expansion and did fine in the past. I think they'll survive not having a spell that will eventually rotate out anyway.
It doesn't matter since Baku upgrades your hero power at the start of the game so you already have that benefit, and you wouldn't play a 5 Mana 4/8 in a quest druid deck anyway.
I honestly think odd quest could work even if just for the hero power. Who's to say we will need battlecry if odd whatever whatever cards? I've already started to mock up my version - to be updated as more are released. I'm a huge fan of jungle giants. I look forward to atleast trying this.
Quest Druid realy doesnt matter since the reward is just plane bad. Its so hard to make use out of bananabus its just not worth any trying.
Also why would you cut wrath,swipe,ramp,UI, Ultimate, branching paths...etcetc.
It would be so ridiculously OP to make cards for even druid so team 5 decided to make odd druid, saw even druid cards and they just resigned on even trying to make that a thing and went with a half baked Druid filler card because nobody would even care anyways.

Have a look at cards like Gloom Stag. If I’m reading that right, the restriction is checked when this card is played.
But some work for the original cost, like when I have a 2 mana spell and have a Sorcerer's Apprentice on the board, making the spell read as 1 mana in my hand, then I play Skulking Geist, the card doesn't get destroyed.

Come on, no need of a mention from Blizzard to know that, this is basic middle school math ! Of course 0 is even. Do we need blizzard to tell us that a warrior class card is a non-rogue class card to understand Ethereal Peddler ?
As for your question, this is a good question. Jungle giants bonus seem to have different behaviours with different cards (https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Jungle_Giants), counting cards as 0-mana for recruit but not for Hemet. I think it would make more sense to work as with Hemet, thus keeping their base cost for the "odd/even" check, but both cases are possible.

I'm not sure if it's initial cost or altered cost.
Some work for the altered cost. i.e. Guild Recruiter after playing Barnabus the Stomper

Agreed. I wonder if Blizzard will clarify or if we’ll have to ‘accidentally’ find out as we do with most HS interactions. Lol
