First of all, I think Blizzard did an awesome job designing creative cards to KotFT, and I can't wait to test it all.
But with what we've seen yet, I think Blizzard is making the whole set unviable for competitive play because they just can't be played in a meta dominated by Pirate Warrior, except for a couple cards.
But this is just my opinion, thinking about it alone. I'd like to know if the community feels the same way.
With CW comeback PW will keep in check, but CW may become another cancer if they have awesome new legendary and hero card with the good cards they have this expansion and no more Jade druid, so yeah you never know lolz.
lol. Pw will dominate while everyone is experimenting. It won't define the meta though. If anything, super greedy, lifesteal heavy armor gain decks like priest and control warrior will. They are already favored vs aggro, and burn mage style decks. The problem is they are kept in check by jade druid. So if jades go away, pw suddenly has to face warrior decks that focus on gaining thousand armor and fatigue. In other words, they are losing a good matchup and gaining a bad one. I don't think aggro will be any stronger than it is now and it's already very weak against control decks.
Pirate Warrior isn't getting any weaker, but control is getting stronger, so we'll see. I know PW is gonna stomp my Hadronox N'Zoth Druid, but it's something I'll just have to live with while I have fun.
The current meta isn't dominated by Pirate Warrior at all, even meme decks can beat them. Seriously look at the ladder, all the meta decks have at last a couple of tools to screw the pirates down, all other strategies are evolving every week and that deck remains the same. Aggro Warror are still winning a lot, but they are extremely vulnerable to simply counters. And now in KFT thats isn't going to change, Pirate Warrios is on is way to death.
I've never felt like there was too much pirate warrior in ungoro meta. Or at least there are other decks that have been far stronger and more annoying to deal with than pirate warrior.

My stats from last season in Ranked (Rank 14 Standard, Rank 7 Wild): 9 Druids, 14 Hunters, 13 Mages, 13 Paladins, 20 Priests, 8 Rogues, 14 Shamans, 5 Warlocks, 20 Warriors (18 of which were Pirate).
So 15% of my games were against PW. I initially set out to prove you wrong, but it looks like you're right lol. I guess I just feel like I play against them all the time because they're so damn frustrating to play against if you're not playing heavy control or teched midrange.

For most metas, including tournaments: I believe pirate warrior will serve the role aggro is really meant to do: keep control from going out of ..control.
Folks will want to go for hyper crazy greedy decks abusing DK and endless card creation (watch Mage/Paladin/Priest tournament fights currently). Jade druid will try to step in to abuse the situation but if that anti-jade card works well enough then they won't be able to go infinite anymore which is why no one bothers with hyper removal control at the moment.
Thus the game will try to go hyperslow greedy until the game tries to go to good old control warrior 'hero power/hero power/hero power/OopsI'mat10cardsgottaplaysomething/instantremoval/repeat/residentsleeper'.
Pirate warrior, token druid, and the like will try to stop that. Control decks will have to hold more anti-aggro removal which means they can't hyperstack top end removal and thus speed up. That hopefully is enough to keep control reasonable and actually try to end games instead of drag it out endlessly and mindlessly.
But dominate? Meh. They don't even dominate right now and will have a harder time in Knights, but they will show up.
But that's non-ranked play.
Ranked play: It's ranked. Ranked will always be aggro because playing a 45-50% win rate aggro deck is better than playing a 55% hyperslow control deck (people have done the math. I'm NOT being hyperbolic). If your entire life is ranked, especially below Legend, you'll have to wait for a future Ranked chnage that Blizzard is working on.
Will aggro still be dominate? That is the real question. It will be interesting to see if that changes but so far this set is a whole lot weaker than Ungoro was.
Hope it just dies, hate meaningless face face face decks you don't even have to think.
Aggro should not be all about face. It's a big part of any CCG and should be allowed to breathe and grow. Without Aggro decks the Meta would be dull. Also, have you never beaten Pirate Warrior with something like Quest Priest? That's a rush.
I welcome the variety of deck Archetypes personally and hope Aggro is a part of the next Meta.
I'm fine with decks that aren't just 'face face face', aggro shouldn't be all about the face but it is tbh, maybe it's not a correct way to play but it's how it seems to be played.
I like that we have Pirate Warrior in the meta, against them you either lose by turn 6, or you stabilize and beat them. Either way your pain ends at turn 6 most of the time.
Not just pirate warrior,i hope there won't be any tier 1 aggro deck.Aggro decks should exist as a farming tools for new players or players that haven't much time and to punish greedy or combo decks. The moment that an aggro deck becomes tier 1,hell even top tier 2 the game degenerates.Simply because there is no sensible reason to play anything else.I mean why would you play something slower and more complex when you can play something easier and faster that nets you the same or better win ratio and more gold? And this is true for any digital card game not just hs(expect gwent since it's its own thing).
I play mostly Wild and Pirate Warrior is dominating there for three reasons: Don Finnley, Ship's Cannon and Death's Bite. These three cards make the deck much faster. If they get good draws in the beginning it's game over.
I hope in the KFT cards left to reveal we get to see some low-cost control cards to survive more than 6 turns against aggro in Wild.

It has to be snakes.

Courage is not the absence of fear, Courage is the presence of faith.
Control getting slower =/= Control getting better.
Depends on which meta:

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
I'd just be happy to not see any Warrior decks in the meta for even one season, honestly. Guess, that won't be happening anytime soon though.^^

Unless this is about wild there is an error in your title. Pirate warrior is not currently dominating, so "still" is wrong.
