Question about the rules. Is it still valid as recursive if there is an extra step in between?
Example and possible submission.
The Living Shard doesn't actually generate a copy of itself though so I don't think it fits this week's rules. The Blood of The Ancient One is not a card that would fit in this week's contest and this is basically the same mechanic.
The important difference is that The Ancient One doesn't summon Bloods, so there is no recursion. Therazane does create itself again, in a roundabout way.
You are right, maybe not as much in mill decks. But usually you will get one good spell from the discover, and the other two may be ok. The fact that you get to choose adds some strategy, and the fact that it can commonly discover itself also does.
Really interesting effect I've never seen before. One concern I have is the amount of text on the card, but that is something that most people may not care about. It also doesn't seem like an effect I'd put in a pirate deck, since it doesn't fit the more aggressive play style they go for (especially at 5 mana).
It has about as much text as Onyxia or Chillmaw so that should be ok but it definitely is a different card for Pirate decks. its a weak turn 5 play but has more punch if the game continues into later turns with a (hopefully) cheap 4/4 body.
Here's my submission, what do you guys think? I wanted to make a reversed Piloted Shredder/Piloted Sky Golem/Mounted Raptor where the value comes from the minion summoned via the Deathrattle, and not from the minion played. So I figured a 5-Cost minion would pair with a 3-Cost minions stats, since Shredder is a 4-Cost that summons a 2-Cost and so on.
I have a question: Are obviously broken cards automatically excluded?
I am asking because of an entry ('Counterfeit Coin'), which is gamebreaking beyond believe, which is getting upvotes but couldn't ever be included into the game.
Of the top of my head, this card is broken with Yogg Saron, Edwin van Cleeve and Violet Teacher and the amount of times you can cast it is only limited by the turntime.

The card must directly be able to produce a copy of itself to count for the competition. For example, Unstable Portal would not count, even though it can produce a Spellslinger which could in turn produce an Unstable Portal.

Broken cards are not excluded unless they are mechanically broken - for example, a card with an effect that necessarily works like a Battlecry, Inspire, Combo or Deathrattle, but does not have any of those listed. Or a card with a targeted Deathrattle, which mechanically does not work.
A card that produces a gamebreaking combo, but is mechanically sound, is eligible, and it's up to the voters to determine whether or not they want to vote for it.

Let me know what you think!
The premise is good, but it seems to me like 5 drops have a greater average value than 2 or 1 drops do. I'm not sure about this since I don't have a list on it, but given that the impact will be greater (and there are no Doomsayers for 5 mana (actual ones that destroy everything, not Validated)), it seems to me that this is the case. Maybe a 3/3? Otherwise, 4/2 is fine.
Here's my go at it:
Rigorous training is involved in becoming a Master. But in the end it's still only the first task of Fetch! that matters.

I'm just another one of those. You know, those who do things. Things that need to be done by those that do these things in order to do those things that don't do these things themselves. Has the word 'things' lost meaning to you already?
I like the idea of the Master of Combat. Stats are fairly balanced though you could lower them a bit (Gnomish Inventor). I would suggest another artwork though. This one looks more like a warlock card. Speaking of which...what do you guys think?
Thanks for the feedback. This is a class card though and the effect won't trigger most of the time, that's why I gave it 3/4. But would a 3/3 be better in your opinion then? What about 5 mana 4/5? Haven't found the right art yet, but will look at that.
And regarding your card, seems balanced, but at the same time really strong for the curve. If you play this on 2 and then a 3 drop on 3, you'll end up with a 2 drop and a 3/5, which isn't a 3 drop. But, since the other drop is randomized, it's okay imo.

I actually thought about that alot, but there definately is some 5 drops with downsides, like Abomination, Fel Reaver and Venture Co. Mercenary. And I figured that since the card get's its value from the minion summoned by Deathrattle, giving it 2 health instead of 3 would make it simply easier for it to die.
I wanted to create a card that could change the way the priest plays currently, adding a new archetype (or trying to).
The idea is to play it in an aggro or tempo deck, aiming to get a strong board presence in the early game. However, this makes you unable to draw, which might hurt you in the longer games, because the minion is design to be efficient only in the early game.
It can also be used to safe yourself from fatigue, aiming for a long game and exhausting the enemy of their resources. What do you guys think?
I intendend to make a race specific Sneed's Old Shredder style card, then I got Nightbane.
My first thought was to put the 6 mana 5/5 body like Sylvanas Windrunner but looking for him now, and having calculated the probabilities (75% of good/excellent summon vs. 25% bad) I thing its way overpower, its like a Dragon Sylvanas that can summon Deathwings (8% chances since there are 2 of them!), Yseras, Malygos, and a lot of biggies 8/8s. Its seems ultra OP tempo card.
So I think in changing him a little, I have some options in my mind:
Raise the mana cost to 7 (or more).
Reduce the body to a 4 mana baseline (3/5 or 4/4)
Reduce his body to 4/5 like Cairne Bloodhoof since he summons his son Bane and Nightbane would do something near to this but with more rng
My submission this week, based on the Unidentified Items from Diablo Series. The weapon itself is the same as Rogue Hero Power, but it can come out 1 turn earlier so you can buff it with Deadly Poison etc and immediately kill something with 2/3 Health on turn 2. Then it gives you something more powerful (Hopefully) and you can take out more enemy minions.
I feel this week is going to be very tough because it's near impossible to design a card that doesn't completely snowball out of control.
Dreadsteed, for example, comes at a huge mana cost penalty (4 mana for a 0-cost minion) AND needs help like Baron Rivendare or Faceless Manipulator to multiply itself.
Both Anub'arak and The Skeleton Knight state that they return to your hand, not that a copy is made, so no, they wouldn't count.I love this art, and I came up with a few effects that I think could fit it. Which one of these cards do you like best?

This last one brings back my question I had in post 2. What do the rules mean exactly about how your card copying itself has to be a 'standard' possibility? This one only seems to be able to copy itself if you have another copy of Undercity Gambler in your hand. This is similar to Burgle, which can only copy itself if you are playing against a Rogue. Would both be allowed?

What I meant by "standard" was that we don't want cards producing copies of themselves only in cases of wacky interactions. For example, Malorne doesn't normally produce any additional copies of itself, but Baron Rivendare causes it to when it normally wouldn't. Cards like Burgle and Mind Visionare allowed for this competition, though. Just through part of their usual functions, there's a normal chance, though dependent on your opponent's class and/or deck composition, that they'll produce copies of themselves. We actually addressed them in our first draft of this competition's rules but ended up deciding to deliberately leave them out because they are somewhat circuitous and unclear examples, and we didn't want to cause confusion.
Sorry asylum, but I don't think you or other fan creation mod/ adm should participate into the finals, I mean, for me, you shouldn't win, you guys are very creative and always send awesome submissions but a lot of people vote for you just for affinity, I know this can sound idiot but is just my opinion. You know, everytime you or other fan creation mod participates you go into the finals.

It's definitely not true that they always get to the finals. I keep track of these things because I'm highly competitive, and they usually don't make it. They make it to the finals often, because they are good at designing cards, but it is definitely not true that they are guaranteed to be voted in.

I agree with the fact that they always make good cards, but I'm pretty sure, even if they don't get votes for it, they get big attention, some users just pass all the cards and when they see it was made by asylum or anyother, they check and pay attention on it.
