Maybe "broken" is a strong word to use haha, but I think this is a good versatile card that just might see play. Maybe not haha, but the high roll potential is there.
I think it is a clear "dust it" card. It is simply too bad. One of the worst cards of the set. Even meme Tess players won't play that for long. It is magma rager level or worse Majority of weapons are weak cards that aren't played for a reason. Paying two more mana for them.....
Various "1 mana discover a card from a pool of decent options" haven't seen much play. This one is 2 mana discover a card from a pool of crap... I'll play Magma Rager before this.
Even if the card is a net negative on average, having a slight chance to instantly win the game is quite good.
Instantly win the game? HOW? Twig? It is not instantly win the game. It is merely good (if you aren't dead because of all that lost tempo).
this has potential, at least this expansion where we still have the legendary weapons and some good ones from the last year, but, unless we get anoter group of legenday weapons next yea (or at least decent weapons from other classes)r, after rotation this will not see play out of arena
And, unlike the crap warrior weapon you don't have to play a good weapon in that turn, like you have 4 manas and get a shaman hammer, this one you play the weapon in any future turn, plus, Tess support.
I tend to throw Molten Blade into my casual Warrior decks because it's fun to use legendary weapons from different classes, but it ends up being fairly uncommon. This, on the other hand, is very likely to give you one as an option, and that's just plain fun.
Discover cards that cost 1 don't see play. It's hard to see why you'd want one that costs 2.
How many weapons are good at +2 cost?
After thinking about it for a while I decided they probably made it cost 2 instead of 1 so Even decks can run it. If you look through rogue weapons the only 2 even costed ones are burgle related (in standard, although I doubt Poisoned Blade changes much for wild), and it is a similarly sparse set of options for weapon buffs.
Since they clearly wanted even pirate rogue to at least be tried, they probably forced a weapon generator to even cost so the weapon synergy tribe isn't stuck with 1/2 daggers only. 0 mana would be crazy, so here we are.
However, according to the card text "Stolen Steel", I would expect to actually steal a weapon.
A better card effect might be "Steal a weapon from your opponent. If he has no weapon, summon a random one (from another class)". But it is probably too strong, especially for 2 mana, and a deckkiller against Kingsbane Rogue.
