Don't forget that if blizzard replace broken stuff with broken stuff we wont go anywhere, the card is decent, not good, not bad, decent, and means the permanent brugle flavor for rogues, whcich, please, understand that is diferent than the soul steal flavor from priest, rogue plays which cards from your class, priest with your f***ing deck and hand
saw the new cards for standard news. rushed to the topic only to see another random garbage card... and i thought blizz would do something different, something interesting..
Imho this is the only good card in comparison to the other newly introduced classic ones, because this has some synergies in standard (w/ Tess). In wild this is obviously useless. People already mentioned the 1/1 Pirate and Hallucination, so the only plausible inclusion for this would be in standard burgle rogue (maybe after April) or in some kind of a miracle rogue, since this enables some combos with the Auctioneer.
I completely understand why the new cards are designed to be weak - they replace the old ones, which rotated out to wild this and last year. The devs didn't want to give us any good ones, because this would be unfair towards the other classes. This would have led to some classes having more (powerful) cards in their classic set than others.
From an unbiased perspective I give it a solid 4/10. Boring, Mediocre, Random and impossible to play around. Literally sparks zero excitement or incentive to play with or against.
But it's Blizzard so knowing that Ill give it a solid 7 out of 10, because trash card design is expected, but it's not nearly as bad as a lot of other cards they've designed.
Burgle rogue is meant to be a "fun" archetype to play. I think it is not meant to be competitive and can become one only if Blizzard will do some mistake (like they did with Yogg)
IMO, this is the only card that makes sense in a vacuum. Three others are both weak and have no interesting theme.
At least a combo activator. Rogue always likes cheap spells.

Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!

Maybe a tempo deck with Tess for finishing can be a thing, the echo spell is too slow and only Hallucination and Wolph don't are enough support for that.

Lilian Voss can be an interesting option to turn Pilfers to opposite class spells for free :) But we are deep in a wacky decks territory here.
Miracle rogue is the best deck ever don't @me, but this card will probably never get played in the best decks. Discover for rogue has become more powerful as expansions continue and this card may become more valuable in some cases, but in the current landscape it seems really weak. Wild has better options as this thread has stated, and it's too slow and useless to reasonably include in a standard ranked deck.
In terms of the standard card pool, we lost conceal and now, several expansions later, gain this card. I don't think new permanent cards can be a bad thing as long as they are this balanced.
Does anyone else think that instead of this they should've moved Swashburglar into standard? That was an excellent 1 drop and fits nicely in any thief rogue deck - plus would have nice synergy with the new raiding party (+ spectral cutlass) spell.

What does card strength/synergy have anything to do with whether a card should be in Classic or not? IMO Pilfer - simple and easy to understand effect/card text, cheap spell, thievery - has a better class identity than Swashburglar.

Reno art, not a bad one

The best of all classic set additions. Stop complaining guys.
Superb artwork on a meme card.
Decent card in Arena tho.
I wouldn’t discredit a combo activator for rogue so fast. Could be good.
I just see a combo activator. That`s enough to me :)
They should make these new cards three mana add 2 cards (demon/opponent class card/mage spell) to have them playable at least a bit

There are no Rogue Pirates in the Classic set.
