Zuljin straight up wins the game when played most of the time. The swing is so big. He straight up beat me yesterday while I was playing token druid because he recast explosive trap to which I had no answer.
hey all NA player here, typically float around rank 6-3, late evenings GMT-8. Looking for friends I can spectate and trade quests with! Enjoying Hunter and Mage currently.
posted already but want to post again for visibility since the forums are closing! this community has taught me a LOT about the game over 2 years or so. I hope to have full friends lists as long as I'm playing!
Rogue was the first class I ever played devotedly. I crafted 2 preps and Edwin to play miracles back when I first started actively playing the game in UnGoro times.
Prep raiding party was a cancer proxy for players to start dominating the meta with an easy combo for a powerful deck. In this meta, having a guaranteed double taunt and Waggle Pick draw for free with prep was so ridiculously powerful and put so much early pressure on many decks. Previously it was a kingsbane draw with charge pirates or Greenskin, but Waggle pick being so much more powerful, especially with a 5 health miscreant in the board that you couldn’t kill turn 3 after they coined it, created a scenario that was disheartening to play against. It opened the door for them to always have the backstab or the sap to defend themselves in the long game before they Myra’s’d into their finishers, and they just dominated the tempo game since they had strong draw and consistent answers
In terms of miscreant, when I played rogue to counter rogue, it sucked that I couldn’t kill the miscreant even with eviscerate. Making it 4 health is a good balancing call that I feel still fits with the power level of gaining the lackeys.
Circling back I agree with OP that prep is a sad nerf, but it feels slightly better to me that it will have to be used more carefully. It’s still a powerful miracle tool and the best decks will survive. New cards will be made in stride and maybe we will see some other stronger 2 mana spells to fit with it! It definitely opens a lot of design space for other spells now. Current rogue might suck a little bit retroactively, but I think it’s fine because now we can actually see a bit more of the rogue cards in place of prep perhaps or even pirates at all.
Mulligan for a 1 and galvanizer with any mechs in hand and you beat rogue every time. Just control the board. You can look it up on youtube as well how to beat rogue with this deck.
I mostly play standard but this deck brought me back to wild for a while. Climbed from 13 to 5 so far and haven't changed 1 card. I find keeping the quest most games is the path to victory because even close aggro matches come down to playing the quest to win.
You actually have a decent shot at winning considering maybe 10000 people will see the post. It has under 300 upvotes as we speak. 1 million people are never going to enter that contest.
This deck is really fun to play and strong if you hit the right rhythm! I notice Echo of Medivh is really powerful when we get it from RNG. Might be interesting to play around with for a more consistent combo.
Play this card. Even if it dies, you play Da Undatakah, and it dies, you get a board full of big minions just for healing up. It's no The Darkness which didn't seem to be played much, or Sherazin, Corpse Flower which was decent in the early ungoro meta but too slow after that.
It's big and has taunt. Things with taunt get silenced. Undatakah combo is another option. There is also Floop and Gloop sprayer.
Building around it as a top end defense or offensive build could make tempo druid decent. They have the heals, Crystal Stag is insane.
There is certainly a strong build out there I think.
Malygos is probably on the list to be rotated...Blizzard can come up with some kind of dragon to replace him. The classic set gets a lot weaker without Maly though, and I would expect a rotation of that proportion to either bring blizzard to rotate a legendary back, or come up with a new one to replace it. They can't just keep taking cards out of the set.
If Maly is rotated though, some of the strongest remaining classic legendaries that still get played are Greenskin and Leeroy....should they rotate those too?? I don't think so. There must be some kind of rebalancing act if they continue to just take away cards.
I think leaving the final reveal stream for a lot of the commons, rares and epics will be just as good. Those cards are the core of the new expansion, and the first expansion of the year has to have a lot of solid cheap minions to be around for 2 years. I think back to the UnGoro reveal stream where a lot of powerful minions that ended up being staples were revealed.
They probably showed all the legendaries to build the hype for people to buy packs. The expansion comes out in 1 week and they have to upsell packs. Obviously a business move, no mistakes made.
There will be 12 in the standard pool (so far), 1/12 shuffle cards in your deck with Augmented Elekk, and on average you will break even on stats.
Playing spells for that doesn't seem bad for the 5/8 statline. If you play 1 1-mana spell you can probably average 8/11 for 8. The lowroll is an owl for 8 mana 7/9 stats. Good cheap option, great in arena.
Edit: counted according to hearthstone topdecks. and black cat rotates!!

Are you not entertained by Kalegos!!!

I think token warlock will be a big thing, and this is a neutral counter to a lot of barnes priest. Nothing but awesome.
