Would have been thematically awesome and still balanced (probably) if it also summoned two boom bots. Them having rush means it's a rng based board removal, which is still in line with the randomness and of the card. Most importantly, it can actually do something the turn it is played.
You lose a huge tempo, but for the cost of Rush on mechs, and you know Rush is OP. Permanent rush aura is something new that everyone isn't aware of. Yet still, I'm mad that they haven't revealed Mechs much, I'm so impatient that I want some mechs right now.
After some time of consideration (and reading ppl's posts), I think I have a better view of this card for myself. I think I have overrated it a bit, because I always have a thing for hero cards (Hagatha proved to be strong, Rexxar got popular in the last two expansions), BUT this is still a good card nevertheless. It just needs the propper support. Sure, the Hero Power is random, it will have a negative impact on the cosistency of the player's next turns and some outcomes are also pretty bad for a 7 mana card (KABOOM!, Micro-Squad). And w/o an immediate board presence this can hardly be included in a tempo deck, but Dr. Boom, Mad Genius opens up a lot of synergies, which imho deserve to be appreciated.
First off, I would like to mention the combination with Reckless Flurry (kudos for pointing it out, guys). So, here's the immediate board impact some have been wondering about - 2 cards, 7 damage to all minions + a future, everlasting rush effect for your mechs in order to win the board. A tempo deck wouldn't support this card properly (they would only dream of the Rush ability), but a Control variant will certainly do it.
So we have the synergies, now we need the components to build a good deck. If we look at some examples here, we could theoretically find the perfect inclusions - Gorillabot A-3, Piloted Shredder, potentially Piloted Sky Golem, Sneed's Old Shredder and N'Zoth, the Corruptor for more value. Foe Reaper 4000 can theoretically fit in this type of deck as well (though this is kinda slow w/o the hero card). I purposely mentioned the wild cards, because imho a wild deck would be built a lot easier. As for standard - it really depends on what mechs warrior will get. I'm optimistic about it, because the devs said how the Goons family are going to get bunch of mech support next expansion. I really hope this would be a good one, but I for once would love to craft/pack this card just because it will be so fun to play.
Card is good, will see play in every warrior deck. Especially in Control. You can play Garrosh and Dr. Boom, cause Shadowmourne is broken and the best weapon in HS. Dr. Boom for lategame value.
Further Ive read that you lose tempo. U you cant lose tempo if you dont gain tempo ;) Control doesnt care, especially control warrior in late game, what or who is tempo?
Looks awesome, but I am worried about a tempo style card giving you zero tempo on the turn it's played.
I would have preferred if it summoned a generic vanilla 3/3 mech with it's battlecry (which would also have rush due to the effect), so you don't feel like you're completely skipping a turn.
We will have to wait and see some more card reveals to determine if Mech Warrior will be a thing. I remember Mech Warrior was playable back in the GvG days, it was only slightly behind Mech Mage, it was still an Aggro style deck with Mortal StrikeArcanite Reaper ect. This is certainly not an Aggro card.
I think people don't understand that the hero power is not really that random. Shaman hero power is pure randomness. Boom's HP otherwise is randomly generated (still you can't get same HP twice in a row so it's even better) but it's known to both players (that's a downside) before you tap it. All in all it's sort of a "controlled rng".
The 7 armor is really nice and the everlasting battlecry is bonkers.
The card itself is already playable, if they release good mechs Dr.Boom power will go through the roof.
I don't think the card is bad. I do think its 'playable', but I think people are missing the bigger picture. Will this make Warrior good enough to compete against the other good decks already?
All the classes that are good are getting more cards, so they are potentially only going to get better or stay the same. Warrior has to improve alot to have a chance.
I am not talking about competitive, just ladder itself.

Well obviously this card is the value card CW need late game. Now with this card and 1 deadman hand it is very hard to outvalue the deck in late game now. The CW main weakness is still the explosive Cube Combo kind of decks that this card is not an answer too. This is the part we hopefully need more support from this expansion to cover it.

Still A bit iffy, when compared to other ctrl finishers like Jaina, Guldan & Hagatha and Shudder/Hadro shenanigans, Boom sounds a bit inconsistent. I think what warrior needs is a more consistent closer than him.

great idea!!! love it!!
edit: it would be perfect (and balanced ?? ) upgrade to (somewhat non-impctuful straight away) battlecry...

But this card have a weird mix of both massive armor gain, removal, board present , AOE and execute activators and most importantly free minion generation with RUSH, all of those CW love to have. Mage and Lock cant make good use of armor and free pịng, but Warrior certainly does. So it is kinda hard to compare this card vs Gudan and FLJ now, without seeing the rest of the set have to offer
HP are very strong, 2 manas for 3 damage, 3 1/1 rush, 7 armor, discover a mech... for me the only one that is just "good" and not "strong" is kaboom that does 1 damage to all ennemies.
If you compare this to other Hero cards and the turn they are played. You will see that this does not compare at all. This needed to summon some mechs, even if only 1/1s, as they would have rush immediately.
This on turn 7, does absolutely nothing, except gain 7 armor. You gain 2 armor over other Hero cards. Is 2 armor worth a minion?
Druid Hero gives you 2 minions and if you want to stay alive both of them are 1/5 with Taunt. Thats 2/10 worth of stats. The Hero power the turn after is also something you can plan for immediately. Do you need to attack or stay alive.
Now, lets go to turn 8. This on turn 8. still does nothing other than 7 armor and maybe allows a Shield Slam. Kills 1 minion at best.
Hagatha does 3 damage AOE and generates spells for free every time you play a minion. This kills Aggro boards very easily.
Turn 9, this card allows you a Hero power and 7 armor. Alright, now we are getting somewhere. You don't get to choose the Hero Power though. So let's say you get the 3 damage one. Might kill a minion, but thats it.
Turn 9, Jaina gives you a 3/6 elemental and one of the best hero powers in the game. Also, any other elementals on board, immediately heals you. Druid Hero allows to immediately gain 3 armor or 3 attack for 9 mana AND you get 2 1/5 Taunts. Again, I am not seeing how this is comparable to the already existing Hero cards.
Best case scenario, its on par, but ONLY if you can use the HP on the same turn. That means waiting until turn 9 or 10. Warrior needed a better board impact to stabilize. If you are losing, this Hero card will not help you until 2 or 3 turns later. But you can't plan for it. You can only adapt as the HP changes.
The community said that Shaman and Warrior needed some love and here we have two straight expansions that are centered around making those classes viable again.
QFT: Indeed, it seems they actually listen to their fans!
Too bad, the randomized heropower causes the hero to become weaker than it should be. Similar to the legendary Paladin spell it needs more support to become relevant in future metas, so can't be truly judged for now (yeah, the synergy with Execute or Reckless Flurry is there but come on...)
If warrior becomes Tier 1 or 2 with this new expansion, it will NOT be because of this Hero card. It will be because of all the Mech support that allows this Hero card to actually shine. This is NOT a good stand alone card. It needs mech support or the battlecry is pointless. The armor gain doesn't win games. And the Hero Power changes each turn without you having a say in what it will be.
Most of the other hero cards are stand alone good. You play them, because they give you immediate value AND they typically give you long term value.
This will be played, but will not be the reason Warrior becomes Tier 2 or 1. If that even happens.
Do people honestly believe that Warrior isn't going to get some very strong mechs this expansion? Blizzard already stated that Warriors, Hunters, and Paladins are going to be mech-focused.

What ???, this hero is the perfect "I can do everthing " stand alone type of card. You dont even have to play any mech in your deck if you want to, and the hero battlecry still works. Because this card can self provide Mech via the 3 1/1 microbot and the Delivery Drone option. So this card can provide you infinite value, check. Infinite damage and removal? Check. Create big guy with RUSH? Check. SPAM board with small guys? Check. Gain sh*tload of armor for 2 mana? Check. Protect board from token decks? Check. Trust me, this card gonna be backbone of any CW decks from now until it leave Standard, provide the solid base for other shiny cards( if warrior get any lol) to dominate the game
I think if we see some beefy mechs this will become auto include in the new control mech warrior in BD.
We're bound to see some Big Mechs as well as that seems to be what warriors mech theme is from the images I've seen. Also Boom himself is in the warrior camp, so all his mechs are going to be warrior cards.
I really think this could be a good card if the mech cards that it supports are good also.

I like elementals and totems.

A tempo deck wouldn't support this card properly (they would only dream of the Rush ability), but a Control variant will certainly do it.
Now, if we look this card in the context of a control deck, let's see what synergies we have with the hero power:
- Micro-Squad, KABOOM!, Zap Cannon - Execute activator.
- Zap Cannon - Darkbomb for a minion or the opponent's face.
- Blast Shield - health gain or Reckless Flurry, Shield Slam.
- Delivery Drone - card generation, "immediate" board presence and impact.
So we have the synergies, now we need the components to build a good deck.
