So, logically speaking: We have seen in Witchwood and the Boomsday Project that Shaman and Warrior got their new Hero card because even though Garrosh DK and Thrall DK are powerfull, they cannot be compared by lategame potential to cards like DK Guldan,DK Jaina,DK Rexxar or DK Anduin. If we assume that Blizzard will keep their "tradition" of adding another Hero card with the next expansion, in what class can it potentially be? Valeeras passive Hero Power is also kinda good for lategame. But what about the other DKs? Does Uther stand a chance of finishing the game as a standalone card? Does DK Malfurion have this potential in Control vs Control game?
Uther is the 3rd weakest hero and then Valera. Malfurion is one of the bests in almost every deck and game.
Malfurion is best at stalling against decks. He is good because he fits in almost every Druid deck, however as a Standalone you cant do much against your opponents Anduin,Warlock,Rexxar or Jaina DK Hero Power
Valeera DK is awesome and unique. You just need to build decks that support the double downs you can get in late game.
You also have to run 2 Vanishes so you can clear the board after. But honestly, Vanish is so powerful right now anyway against DK Guldan and Taunt Druid. I run them regardless.
I can't say I agree that DK Thrall and Garrosh are weak. We need to keep in mind that Thrall is almost half the cost of most other DKs, literally half in Gul'Dan's case, and is a great tempo card. We can't compare pit fighter directly with a Kappasaur. DK Thrall is not seeing any play right now, not because it's weak, but because there's no support for a board-centric shaman deck where it's not banned. If he was allowed in even shaman, we would be playing him instead of blowing up our own board with Hagatha. DK Garrosh, on the other hand is a stellar anti aggro card that can single handedly destroy spammy board decks. It's seeing play in most quest warriors for the battlecry and for its hero power against paladins
You can't really compare the DKs head-on. It's like saying armor up is better than dagger mastery because armor up wins in fatigue. Most of the DKs are for endgame value whereas Thrall and Garrosh are not. This is why Hagatha was created to fit this role instead. Dr Boom appears to be a Tempo card, in contrast to DK Garrosh being an anti aggro one
If anything, we shouldn't be looking for "weak" heroes but ones that are "one dimensional" or the least flexible. For example, DK Malfurion is an ultra flexible card that can both complement Malygos in burning down the opponent or tank up against aggro. DK Rexxar can build lifestealing bloatbats for sustain, Arfuses for value or rhino/chargers for SMOrc. It is unlikely the next hero will be a druid or hunter.
On the other hand DK Valeera is purely value/endgame oriented, it doesn't build a board, give sustain or help burn out the opponent. In the same boat, DK Uther doesn't do anything other than heal for 20 and offer a clunky OTK. It's possible we see a tempo driven hero like DK Thrall or Dr Boom come out for these classes but with Genn/Baku in the format, it is slightly less likely. It's also possible we get another late game Paladin hero with a stronger hero power that isn't focused on the OTK
My prediction is that the next hero card will be a priest. DK Anduin only burns, and it burns slowly. Without being 0 mana, the ping is too slow to be good at controlling the board or get value from killing minions unless the opponent's development is feeble. A lategame value or a midgame board centric priest hero would be different enough from DK Anduin to not contest him in decks built with a burn plan, even if it is powerful

Thats what I've meant. I was comparing DKs by lategame powrlevel and both Garrosh and Thrall are not getting there compared to other classes. That doesnt mean that they are bad. I'm behind the opinion that Hero cards can't be compared because they are doing too much. So that's why I specifically said lategame/endgame where Hagatha and Boom are stronger than Thrall and Garrosh.
Your Priest pick is really interesting. It is true that even though he one of the strongest DK's in terms of Battlecry it is really narrow-minded to burn strategy if you don't have discount on Hero Power. Your opinion is kinda interesting :D
Below average/only fit in certain decks: Uther of the Ebon Blade - Valeera the Hollow - Scourgelord Garrosh - Thrall, Deathseer
The only one I could argue for both cases would be Valeera the Hollow, but ultimately the results speak for themselves. She doesn't immediately change the board state, and while she provides great value, not all decks will include her.
On topic: I think Uther, Garrosh and Thrall are all tied for last place. (People can order the 1st worst, to the 3rd worst, however they want) Just think about the situations when someone plays Frost Lich Jaina against you, to where the opponent plays Uther of the Ebon Blade. When Jaina drops, you know that unless your deck has enough burst to win relatively quickly, you're in a for the long game. When Uther drops, you're not scared of them getting a 2/2 every turn and a 5/3 lifesteal weapon; even the "exodia wincon" was obvious a long time ago.
Just based on the fact that the third expansion of the year looks like it's going to have a Zul'Gurub theme to it I'm calling hunter or warlock. It'd be nice to see a more aggresive DK for those two classes as both are extremely control oriented.

With the exception of guldan i agree with you... Guldan will singke handedly close out the game.. belongs in OP tier
Valeera battlecry is pathetic weak for a freaking 9 manas hero, the hero power is good but for 9 or 10 manas the DK have to be like mage or warlock level of power, Valeera DK, like all other class rogue cards is overcosted, the correct for the card offer is 7 manas like druid or, in the absolute maximum 8 manas, for 9 is just unplayable, they just kill the card.
Rogue or Paladin, probably Rogue is weaker. But I would say Rogue's is weaker than Warriors, and Warrior got a new Hero card first. So both have a pretty good chance.

How is Rogue weaker than Warrior? Her Hero Power is insane in terms of resources. It is basically doubling up any card u to 5 mana after being played. Warrior one is Whirlwind effect

Any further explanation why is her value Hero Power worse than Uthers one in your opinion?

Having the ability to replicate cards like vile spine, strider, sap, is extremely powerful. Having a 2/2 that you can play once a turn is not.

Just make guldans hero power do 2 damage and we will finally have some.balance to the DKs .. there is not a more OP 2 mana play
Highly splashable/game changing: Bloodreaver Gul'dan - Frost Lich Jaina - Shadowreaper Anduin - Malfurion the Pestilent - Deathstalker Rexxar

I think it will be uther or valeera, i guess it will have to do with the theme of the next Expansion
Thrall DK used to seem some play.. it’s absolutely a viable hero card of the right deck can be built around him in future releases
Seems ok.
Malfurion and uther are both pretty low power levels. The only reason people think malfurion is good because druid is good in general right now.
No way is Valeera bottom tier. She is OP in the right decks for sure.
