For me this is kinda a meh card (since mid-range decks wouldn't include slow cards), but I'm eager to see the rest of the omega cards. I have a strong feeling most of them will be quite strong and popular next month.
Note - maybe a nice inclusion in some control decks (taunt warr)?
I'm not hating the stat line. It's great. And it's also a taunt. I'm just a bit skeptical about the self buff @ 10 mana. This seams really strong in a control deck, but not in every meta. Also also, that's some serious power creep.
Edit: Learned since then: it's 4 mana no matter what. It's just that i fyou have 10 mana in hand it'll be a 4 mana 12/6.
That makes the mechanic potentially powerful. The card itself is...uuhhh. Fair, which means it won't work well in constructed. But I can see other cards of this type being utterly evil.
So it's a stegodan normally. Or it's a 12/6 for 10 mana.
So I'll ask. How often do you play 4 mana 2/6 vanilla cards?
Ok, now Would you play a vanilla 12/6 for 10 mana?
So basically it's a card with the choice between a bad card and a REALLY bad card.
Barring synergies, the card just isn't really that good. Which is fine since the 'show-off' card for a mechanic is never that good.
So about the mechanic. A very powerful potential in this one. but 10 mana cards need to be not just good but game breaking. 10 mana shoould be trying to win the game. We're talking Pyroblast, UI, Warlock DK. THAT is what '10 mana power level' should be.
I'm not sure Blizzard will be willing to print a card that says "I'm ok at low mana, and I WIN THE GAME AT 10 MANA!" But the potential is there.
The omega mechanic really favors druid.. since druid can easily reach 10 mana.. much more than any other class..
but this particualr card.. I don't see it being played in druid.. druid can do much more broken stuff than a 12/6 taunt in turn 10... unless you are face tanking it, it's not really good against most (at least current) board states.. most minions late game are 4/4s or 8/8s (well I am biased since I play a lot of evenlock though..
the amount of synergies going around in this standard cycle is crazy there should be a combination of cards that make this card good, but I don't think it's over the top good. in arena it's a really good card though 5/5 even a lot of arena rounds go for a while and stats are a lot in arena.
in rogue or priest it looks interesting. it's also an even card.. so sometimes even if the card powerlevel isn't too high it might find play cause it's even costed.
Nice this could be a nice pick from stonehill for some classes. At turn 10 you play stonehill defender into omega defender into something else? Pretty good value I think.

What i thought.
Possible you see this more in Paladin from Stonehill, rather than willingly played by Druid...
I could see it potentially fitting into even Shaman. It works as anti-aggro. It can be saved to be one of several biggish cards in the late game. It generates a spell with Hagatha the Witch. And even shaman's 4 drops are the weakest part of the deck currently, so it won't be pushing out anything important. I honestly think it fits the deck better than Saronite Chain Gang, which is in a decent number of even Shammies now.

It's a situational buff that isn't nearly as strong as it initially seems. A 12/6 isn't all that amazing, and will never be the centerpiece of a good deck. But its flexibility is what makes it sleeper great imo. I think it can be a tier 1 filler card to give midrange and control decks some taunt, especially once Tar Creeper cycles out in 8 months. I mean, it is good against aggro, and it will force a resource be used on it when facing control. Can't ask for much more than that from a neutral minion.
I did Not Quite catch How this mechanic works. Does it use up all your 10 mana crystals or does it still cost 4? Do you need full crystals or are emptied crystals sufficient? Can you play both copies on turn ten and both get 12/6 ?

According to the website video clip of it being played, it still costs 4 at 10 mana. Not sure about the rest of your questions.
not sure why this card wasn't just given to druid as it's pretty easy for them to reach 10 mana way before anyone else. lol, but could be an interesting find from something like stonehill defender for other classes late game maybe to make things interesting.

Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
I think its important to note the cost doesnt increase when you hit the 10 mana requirement. So you could get a serious offensive wall if you have 2 of these (or other omega minions) from hand. Its something that needs to be removed or silenced or blocked otherwise its not going to end well.
The low health end with effect makes it kinda winmore-y to me, but with the druid card (and the rest of their ramp) I could see that not being the case
I think this is more of a Stonehill Defender buff if you ask me. Having one of those late game out of nowhere would give a nice advantage but right now, it doesn't seem like it is really strong.
Im pretty sure this card wont spend the actual 10 mana. The battlecry is just a condition that has to be met. It doesnt say SPEND 10 mana. Its a 12/6 taunt for 4 when you have 10.
So this card, and all Omega card , spend 10 mana on turn 10 or not. If that tye case then this card is rubbish. But if it a 4 mana 12/6 turn 10 then it is a great card

it never costs 10 mana, it's just IF YOU HAVE 10 mana then... it always costs 4.

"Omega stands for Ramp Druid"
"That's not a greek letters work Dave"

Playable
Won't see play at all. 4-mana 2/6 taunts don't see competitive play. Cards dead in hand until turn 10 don't see play.

Don't care about costructed, but this thing will run amok in arena, that's for sure
