It has decent value without its battlecry, and great value with it. This is a card I'd be happy to discover off Stonehill Defender in the late game, though I'm not sure if it's reliable enough to put in a deck. After all, by the time I can activate its battlecry, I'd expect any deck to be able to kill it.
When I played Deathwing Dragonlord in my Control Paladin, ( before KaC vs Priest) i realized that a 12 attack guy by itself is a wincondition if he connects one time to the enemy’s face. Playing two of them in one turn could be scary.
Am I the only one thinking Shudderwock here? If you play Omega defender at turn 4, the battlecry still happens when you play Shudderwock turn 10, right? With a bit of luck with the Saronite battlecry, you might end up with several big minions.
Yes, you are the only one.
Not only several big minions can be removed by an aoe effect, there is also the question if several , lets say 16/6 Shudderwocks are needed if you win anyways by the battlecrys of Hagatha, Shard and Lifedrinker. You would have to cut cards from an existing deck and i doubt the new deck would be more efficient.
Why am I the only one who thinks this is too overpowered? Like, oh a normal card and then boom. 4 mana 12/6 taunt.
It is pretty scary. Overpowered though? It trades up but the taunt on it actually makes it not as good in my opinion. Normally a minion with those stats you want to stick around to attack with. It's good when the opponent only has one or two big nasties and he has to trade one in to it. But if he has a bunch of small trash, like a bunch of paladin dudes then it's not as good. But the big kicker here is that it's only a 2/6 taunt for 4 mana for 10 turns first. Which isn't great.

mmm.. shudderwock lke this, imagine you play this card for tempo its ok 2 6 for more value its better play in turn 10 but remember guys its battercry.. xD
This card is extremely good. As a 3/6 taunt this would have been playable even without any additional effects, while as a 2/6 its qualities as a defensive minion will depend on how much health typical aggressive minions have.
What makes this so excellent though is the effect. A downside of taunts and other anti-aggro cards is typically their low utility against slower decks, but this does get an insanely high utility against slower decks once you reach turn 10 (or earlier in Druid).
So viability will depend on both what aggressive decks looks like, and how long games go. It also has some synergies with cards like Shadowflame that may make it particularly attractive for some decks.
This seems extremely proficient in Arena. I'm glad it's an epic, because if it were a common like Firelands Portal was back in 2016, it would be absolutely disgusting. Not to mention that any class could end up with it. In my personal Arena experiences, the matches often boil down to which one of us gets the better topdecks. I would pick this in Arena almost every time it is offered, and I would also dislike being on the business end of this tauntoss's crushing arms when the battlecry goes off. (I often call minions with taunt by the term tauntoss, which I combined "taunt" and "protoss" to form, even though I don't play StarCraft that much.)

didnt the way that arena picks work change from rarity to quality(tier)?

Epics should still have a lower appearance rate, at least according to blizz. In practice, I don't know if the data backs that up or not.

A lot of people seem to mistakenly believe that this card will cost 10 mana on turn 10.
This card ALWAYS costs 4 mana. You're paying 4 mana for a 12/6 with Taunt if you play it on turn 10.
4 mana 12-6 taunt lul
Actually good for 4 mana, not only 10 mana
Actually it would be a beast in even lock too.

Omnislash even said this card was bad.

Omega cards - Druidstone incoming?
Yes, you are the only one.

Wtf Blizzard, no mech tag? >: /
Seems like a pretty good win more card. May see play in druid or aggro decks tho unlikely because of oaken summons.
Yeah it's cards like this and the omega effect in general that make me rethink the druid project card.

I found another class than Mage. Now I play Warlock too.

You mean for four turns in Druid ^^.
Ha!, true enough.

When spellbreakesr leave the meta, Edwin will rule again.
