The funniest thing is that this card can be a great counter to Jade decks. In desperate situations this guy can force jade golems to kill each other or even kill their hero. We can use him as last method to survive in battle. Like Yogg.
UPDT. Oh, minion can't target friendly minion. Then this card is a crap. D

ah, I was thinking the same thing, but if it's been verified that they won't target friendly minions, then it does indeed suck a lot worse. You'd have to have a lot of tokens and somehow be in the late game and run noggenfogger... it doesn't really seem to make sense.
pretty bad against minion based decks, but excellent against decks that rely on spells for face damage.
Minion randomly attacks from list of legal targets = all enemy characters (minions and heros). No friendly fire. Best case is the enemy minions attack the wrong character.
However, non-AOE Spell damage can almost always target your own minions and face, so risks hurting yourself with pyroblasts, frostbolts, etc. (few obvious exceptions like Mindblast or Arcane missiles which are untargetted, or Swipe which can only target enemies)
I thought this had potential but minions cannot attack friendly minions or heroes... unfortunately i wont be playing this against a full board of jade golems and watching chaos ensue
They playtested it so I'd imagine it must have some kind of power. It would definitely be difficult to remove and potentially cause your opponents to harm themselves so we will see.
It's really sad that this development team took one of the coolest quest chain characters in classic WoW and turned him into...this. An incredibly overpriced card with next to zero possible playability or overall impact.
Can we get a new development team, please? Like, just fire every last one of them and maybe hire ONE person who doesn't seem to hate World of Warcraft characters and wants to turn half of them into worthless garbage.
I am disappointed and the more I learn the angrier I get regarding this card. I wrote up a lengthy piece and if you are interested check out the link at the bottom of this post.
But in a nutshell the reason I am disappointed is:
Where is my Noggenfogger Elixir?
There will never again be another Mayor Noggenfogger card and Hearthstone missed an incredible opportunity to celebrate a "Hero" of Warcraft. If Arthas Menethil gets this treatment there will be pitchforks and nerd rioting! The card needs to be reworked. It doesn't have to be competitive, just closer to the lore. Even the artist rendering of the Mayor shows the Noggenfogger Elixir.
Its dumb that this card is so useless considering in the lore Mayor Noggenfogger the most influential person in Gadgetzan.. and it wasn't randomness or luck that got him there (the randomness of his potion excluded). See if your going to make a card with little play function that's mostly for lore heads at least do it right like Nozdormu.

Definitely lost opportunity here. I remember using those elixirs to turn into a skeleton (or was it something random?). I have no idea where the random targeting comes in. Maybe something lore guys knows about?
Unfortunate to see a major character be just yet another joke.
With the card text on Misdirection I had assumed this would give a similar effect, where spells would be bound to legal targets and minions would wreak havoc among themselves and the heros. A cross between Yogg, misdirection, and spellbinder. This would have definitely met my expectations as the new Yogg, plus/minus a few benefits.
If the tweet is truly confirmation that minions will still only attack the enemy ala the ogres, then it is reduced to a overcosted tech card against a combo heavy meta. RIP Noggenfogger, we hardly knew ye.
Guess blizzard doesn't want another Yogg. Haha, guess that's not a terrible thing.
Schrödinger's cat walks into a bar... and doesn't.
So lame, they should have designed this card like a constant Misdirection - now THAT would have been interesting.

At the very least, he should have more health so that the effect actually lasts a tiny bit...
Mayor Yoggenfogger

Hey, Don Han Cho will make this card a 10/9, what's not to like?

This should have been a Justicar style battlecry.
If they left if the way we would like, it would be impossible to win a game with this on board.
Where's the link that confirms this won't have the effect of a constant Misdirection?

Never lucky, always salty!
