I definitely agree with all the salt, this is by far the worst expansion yet. But, I'm just trying to have fun with it and see if I can get to legend with miracle rogue. Gotta try to find a way to have fun with it, otherwise just go play something else until it gets better.
It's not that bad guys. If you play miracle rogue, you know even a single coin can lead to winning the game. There are also a few good new 3 drops, so protecting them on turn 4 + getting a coin is not bad at all.
How did they not see how crazy it could get? I actually think it's a really cool card, but it shouldn't have been released at the same time with these insane enabler cards.
Also, I agree with the cubelock hate, that deck is a cheese fest. But I do love control Warlock. Shitting on Tempo Rogue and Aggro Paladin and getting that turn 6-7 concede is a great feeling. The Rin delete your deck combo is also really hard to pull off (they usually draw their full deck or just kill you before you can play it), but it's really satisfying when you do.
Can't wait for Razakus Priest to get that nerf hammer. A card game feels dumb when you can be at full health with ten cards left in your deck, and your opponent is in fatigue with 8 health and 5 cards in their hand, and they win the game the next turn.
I don't agree with anyone saying don't try to counter the meta. I reach legend regularly with anti-meta decks. Here's the one I made Legend with last month:
Completely anti-meta. Best advice is keep playing the same deck with the basic archetype you like (are good at), but don't be afraid to keep tweaking based on what you are going up against. Eventually you'll get the right mix and will feel like you always have the right answer on the right turn.
Aggro murloc paladin (also using deathwing???), I survive as Mage, eventually getting him card dead, clearing the board, Alexing myself and throw out 2 giants.
He has no cards, no board, and I have 3 8/8s on the board.
He top decks Stonehill Defender -> into The Curator on the same turn (the only possible game saving top-deck)
This draws deathwing for him, plays next turn and goes on to win.
I don't see what secrets are so crazy that you need a crazy good counter card to them. Most of them can be played around pretty easily. The only super sticky secret is ice block, in which case eater of secrets is fine because you wouldn't use it until late game anyways (when you can kill your opponent on the same turn)
Us server legend rank 6000, so playing a lot of rank 1s. Maybe thinking it's the easiest way to get in? I dunno, glad to hear it's not as prevalent as I'm seeing though.
It's not a big deal, I have no problem keeping them out of legend with taunt warrior. It would just be nice to be able to play something else once in a while.
I really like the Un'Goro expansion. Most of the cards are really fun, and for about 2 weeks there was a wide variety of gameplay, deck building, and interaction. It was fun while it lasted. Well, people figured out that the best way to win and rank up quickly is to just go back to the good old pirate warrior deck and win games by turn 5. This strategy completely crushes any quest deck, with taunt warrior being the only one that might stand a chance with a great opening hand. So, already, the meta has gone back to 8/10 games vs pirate warrior. This deck hasn't been affected at all by cards that rotated out, and is still the strongest, most brainless deck in the game. So, it looks like for the foreseeable future, get used to a lot more pirate warrior fun, and if you want to win games you'll still need to build or play only decks that specifically counter this one deck.
It's really good in this deck IF you are running more of a control warrior style. If you are trying to just get the quest as soon as possible you'll have cheap taunts instead.

Just had the same thing happen. Blank slot for the rest of the game. At least the opponent didn't get the 5/5 either!

Not op at all. It's really bad actually in many situations. Vs Pirate warrior, for example, you lose if you draw this card in your opening hand.

Taunt Warrior completely ruins quest rogue tho.
