I think I like it? Doesn't hit Rusty Hook or the Upgrade! weapon though.
It's actually better that way, use those for early game weapons. You don't have to contend with war axe in your hand and this card is guaranteed to hit reaper, which you can drop on turn 5 for 18 damage and a turn 7 kill. 12 damage is an easy gap to fill with 4 turns to do it. You would honestly just need to keep a lot of removal.
The real "what if" scenario that probably won't happen often enough to be important is playing Grimestreet Informant on 2, this on 3, and your buffed Truesilver on 4.
It's a card we would want to wait and se how it does in practice, how many weapons you need in the deck? 6? cause 4~ of the weapons in pirate warrior's cutrrent list come from spells or minions this requires weapons IN HAND so it's a bit harder to pull off rather than rusty hook+ upgrade for example
I think they will introduce a new warrior weapon and with 6 weapon this is playable but with 4 good weapons (in aggro) this isn't playable since it's inconsistant.
I might be wrong though, but most critics are wrong.. nobody expected mysterious challenger to be THAT insane, or reno jackson to make renolock.
I think this expansion is trying to make new archtypes rather than reinforcing existing ones, well every expansion tries to do that but I think some kind of buff from hand deckw ill exists and a reno mage might aswell be at least playable.
Run 2 Gorehowl, 2 this card and one Captain just in case, don't look that bad, you can overvalue in priest matchs or just finishing others deck in face, turn 7 Gorehowl in face, turn 8 Grom + Inner rage + second attack from Gorehowl, almost 30 damage in 2 turns.
I think if this minion are a pirate become broken as hell, 3 manas 3/3 buff weapon in hand and summon a 1/1 charge, too much, cards like this is bad design and broken the balance, it is fine this way.

Well, maybe. But what if it's turn 5 and you're not holding Arcanite Reaper, but you do have N'Zoth's First Mate? With Bloodsail Cultist you can go N'Zoth's -> Cultist for a 2/4 Rusty Hook. Much better than nothing. This card would just be a vanilla 3/3. Definitely has potential but I'm not sure it will turn out to be better than Cultist or have a place in Pirate Warrior.
I think so, because you don't have the requirement of having your weapon equiped and the captain is pretty expensive. In this case you can equip and weapon trade right away with a more powerful minion, or go face.
Great! In standard there aren't too many weapons you want to play after turn 3, so it might not be too good right now, although swinging twice for 8 to face with an 8 attack Gorehowl sounds fun... or 5x11 with two of these and Brann Bronzebeard. It really fits perfectly into the Control Warrior value game.
Of course there's also the face warrior lists, with Arcanite Reaper. They're going to have fun with this card.
And in Wild there is Death's Bite, so it should be very good there,
Save fiery war axe T2 for this? I think not. Not even a pirate. Upgrade strictly better.
I just want to note that this card isn't supposed to be played instead of Upgrade. It's to be played alongside it. Redundancy is a good thing (see Resurrect Priest).
Looks like..... Trash to me. Lol. Funny how we all see different things!
You are most likely going to drop your Axe on turn 2. Then this is 90% of the time a 3/3 for 3. I mean how many weapons are in your deck to buff anyway? 3? It's not like you can effectively fill your deck with weapons and win.
You don't need to fill your deck with weapons. You just need a few good ones, then hold this until you have one in your hand.
Ever notice how Control Warrior always has a huge hand of cards? Holding things and playing them in an advantageous order is basically the whole CW philosophy.
"Holding things and playing them in advantageous order" is probably how someone who faces Control Warrior more than actually playing it would describe its philosophy.
And to some1 that doesn´t play a lot of CW this might seem a good card because he imagines a 4 - 3 axe or 8 - 2 gorehowl he wouldn´t want to face.
But here is what CW is about, at least in my mind : neutralize you opponents threats in the early and midgame and manage your card and lifecount as efficient as you can, then outvalue them in the late game.
... and in many cases, you do that by being a little greedy for value. In other words, holding certain cards so you can play them in the most advantageous order.
But your condescending tone has been noted. I'll be sure to keep in mind that you fancy yourself an expert.

I voted Very Good for this card. It's certainly ranks higher than the other buff to hand cards. I also suspect several weapons be introduced with MSG which can really skyrocket the value of Grimestreet Pawnbroker to the next level.
The only slight problem with it is he doesn't curve out well with Fiery War Axe. But, it's definitely possible we'll be seeing more Arcanite Reapers in our future and again, I'm sure the weapon classes can expect to see a new weapon or two added to their arsenal. Let's just hope they're not all on the same level as Piranha Launcher.

I strictly disagree. People overvalue this card. If you are playing Pirate/Face Warrior, which is the only place this fits, it requires having a weapon in hand.. not playing it.. playing this and watching your board fail.. then what? Playing a 6/3 Arcanite reaper into a bad board state? or more realistically a bad board state THEN getting Harrisoned into an auto loss?
It doesn't help Pirate Warrior smorc better. Won't see competitive play. Upgrade is better for smorcing. Same effecthing, cheaper, more flexible.
I like how some people says it sucks because you aren't going to save your fiery war axe in hand for this, as if that's the only weapon a warrior can ever use.
Hitting an arcanite reaper with this makes it amazing.

hitting an Arcanite reaper with upgrade is amazing. You can play it, swing once, test for ooze Harrison, then upgrade.
This you need the Arcanite reaper in hand. Play a poor tempo card and then pray they don't have ooze or Harrison or you just lost because you spent 2 cards and 8 mana for 6 damage .

Wait a minute, this is a minion not a spell, you don't spent 2 cards for 6 damage, you have a minion in board will cost something for opponent remove, and a 3/3 for 3 manas don't is so terrible.

I think this will be much better in Wild, you drop this and next turn can play a 5/3 Death's Bite and laugh at the OP'ness.
New auto-include. At least it's a mechanic created from two rarely explored previous mechanics, though, instead of something boring.
Shanking ankles since 2015.
Of course, you silly goose. =D

Good but why the fuck not making it a pirate ?
