Hello Dear Wild Community! Is anyone considering crafting golden RoS legendaries? Leave your comments and opinion below!
Everytime new expansion comes out I like to craft a 1-4 powerful and/or fun and/or nicely animated legendaries not to open them as regular ones (to have them golden I would have to dust them and then recraft golden which is very dust-inefficient). We cannot see a golden animation yet (04-04-2019), so for now we will speculate on powerlevel and funlevel potentials. Power-level perspective Imho, this expansion there is no neutral legendaries that seem powerful enough to consider crafting them golden. However, we saw some nice class legendaries that potentially can reinforce existing wild strategies and possibly create new ones. Blastmaster Boom - it would be nice to fload the board with bunch of golden bombs. Downside is this fits in only one Warrior archetype tho. Arch-Villain Rafaam - Golden legendaries value? Fel Lord Betrug - Good with the scull. Very cool effect. For me a safe gold craft. Swampqueen Hagatha - Good standalone card. But could be too slow for wild. Scargil - Looks like murloc shaman will be a thing. This legendary will definitely see a lot of play. Could be a good golden craft. Madame Lazul - A very strong card. It has a lot of competition though in Control Priest lists. Catrina Muerte - ..I know, I hate Big Priest too. This card would be a nice addittion to any otk/deathrattle priest deck though. Khadgar - Seems strong, and have synergy with a lot of different wild cards, but I am not sure I want to spend 3200 dust on it. Kalecgos - Safe golden craft for me. (and i kinda like dragons) Keeper Stalladris - seems strong, but is it worth it? Laucentbark - I have mixed feeling, I love the art tho
To sum up. I have no idea what or whether to craft except Kalecgos and Fel Lord Betrug.
I don’t craft gold but if you’re inclined the ‘destroy your deck and add 10 discovered cards’ lady is hard to pass on. She’s an autoinclude in most control decks and gold card value. The art is also gorgeous.
But ... but ... you might open them golden, which is the most efficient way of all!
I think it makes more sense to wait and see which ones are actually good, but if you insist on this madcap spree, I agree that the ones you've earmarked as safe are indeed safe.
Keeper Stalladris is also safe and totally worth it -- you will get golden copies of the choices.
Heistbaron Togwaggle is going to be insane if you play any kind of Rogue, and again, golden treasure.
Will Jepetto Joybuzz turn the cards golden as he draws them? Would be nice. This is a very safe craft if you play combo-ish decks.
My top 3 - Kalecgos (almost 100% sure in one day and in wild will see play), Lazul (not so sure, animation great and has value with 1 golden card, but, i don't think, she will see a lot of play), Katrina (so much value, and i love priest, any priest even this ones you hate the most, but not great animation and don't see her viable until Barnes nerf)
Top recommended for you, but not for me, coz things. Tak (meh animation, great value with full hand of golden cards, but 100% sure see play some day), Rafaam (so much value, great animation, one of the best, but not so sure he will see play in control type of decks, 100% sure will see play in standart zoo, but i hate zoo)
Yes, I will craft a golden Scargil before opening any packs. Just to make sure I do not open a regular one. I did open a golden Unite the Murlocs not to long ago. So am very excited to play some quest Shaman in wild when the expansion hit. I do not really care if it turns out to be a garbage deck. Just want to have fun with it:-)

1. The most efficient way of opening golden cards depends on the player and how many packs are going to be opened. It also depends on what their particular goal is. Are you crafting gold because you like the art on the card, or are you crafting something gold like Academic Espionage so you can see and duplicate more golden stuff? If you are Kibler for example and plan on having everything gold, then yes you should just open all your 500+ packs first and then fill in whatever you missed.
However most people do not have that kind of money or time to farm in-game gold. Which means the most efficient way to craft Golden Legendaries for most players is to craft before you open any packs! The chances of getting a golden legendary are slim and getting the exact one you want are even slimmer. You will open regular copies of these if you do not craft them gold first which means you are dusting them for 400 dust while not opening another legendary you could have gotten in the set. That is very inefficient.
2. I'm fairly certain that Jepetto Joybuzz will NOT turn your draws into golden copies. Fel Lord Betrug probably does give those tokens on the board golden status. Drawing Actual cards out of your deck into your hand or onto the board (Recruit mechanic) does not usually create gold stuff. Creating tokens of cards, Evolving, and summoning from the Graveyard mechanic usually does. You have to be careful and really read the card and think about the interactions if your goal is to make as many things as possible gold. I foolishly crafted The Boomship golden day 1 because I saw the word 'summon' and just assumed anything summoned from a spell came out golden. Boy was I wrong. Oh well at least I like the art and it may see more play soon.
I see your point. I never really thought about these things because crafting golden legendaries is such a foreign concept to me. I'd much rather have a full collection, even if I'm never going to use some of the cards.

To the OP or anyone else interested in golden cards: Before you go on your dust spending spree, You need to figure out exactly what you really want out of this so you do not make a 3600 dust mistake or worse. Here are some guidelines you might want to consider:
1. You better be playing the card frequently enough for it to be worth it. There isn't much point in crafting something gold if you are not serious about playing Wild decks long term. Free to play players who have trouble keeping up with standard shouldn't bother along with those who dust everything nonstandard upon rotation.
2. You better like the deck you are playing it in. There is no point in crafting a golden Malygos if you are bad at playing those types of decks (even if you really like Dragons).
3. What aesthetic value does it provide you? Do you just like the art? Do you like golden cards that crap out more golden cards? Do you like to have certain cards gold as a visual reminder that it is in your hand? Are Dragons or Pirates just your jam? How much does the Warcraft lore really matter to you?
4. Are there other rarities and cards that are just better? You can craft 2 golden Academic Espionage for the price of 1 golden legendary. If you like to play thief rogue this is one of the best values in the game.
5. How much time and money are you going to invest in the game to get to your goal.
I wouldn't craft golden legendaries on the launch of RoS - because I may need the dust from the HoF cards for some epics I won't get from the packs (epics are like a bottle neck for me, ever since they introduce the "no duplicate legendary" policy.
If I need the card later on, to use in some deck, yes, I will consider crafting it gold from the beginning (I still regret crafting normal Hardronox back in WW days in order to play Taunt Druid :( ).

Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
I see your point. I never really thought about these things because crafting golden legendaries is such a foreign concept to me. I'd much rather have a full collection, even if I'm never going to use some of the cards.
The two schools of thought are equally valid. At a mechanical level having 2 cards instead of 1 is obviously better, but the value of a card to a given player increases with both how much it is played and whether it is golden or not. Some people allocate zero value to a card being golden. For others it can easily outweigh owning another card they have no interest in.
Personally I place huge value on rogue legendaries and strong burgle cards, so I'll be crafting all of Heistbaron Togwaggle, Tak Nozwhisker, Underbelly Fence, Vendetta and Hench-Clan Burglar golden (unless I open golden copies of the rares and commons). But I'd never craft anything golden from another class.
Thank you for your opinions. I decided to craft those three for sure: Blastmaster Boom - This is just trash in Wild, but I think will see lots of play in standard and creates an unique archetype. Fel Lord Betrug - I cannot wait to do some shenanigans with Plot Twists, some charge minions and Dollmaster Dorian in Wild ;) Kalecgos - Maybe too greedy card in Renomage, could be decent in big spell mage and eventually maybe an inclusion in a Dragon Mage deck someday in the future. Nevertheless, this will be nuts in Standard. I still hesitate about those two: Arch-Villain Rafaam - because the animation is just nuts, golden legendaries value and fun2play aspect Catrina Muerte - every ressurect-based archetype in specialist format can use this card. I think it is a very decent card. 8-cost is not so much, especially when priest have access to a lot of removal and heal options. U get an almost instant value from playing this. Against a deck without much removal/silence options can be devastating (can hide behind a taunt and just create more and more threats every turn).
A lot of people mention Archivist Elysiana (cool art though) but I do not think it will see much play in Wild though. It maybe a tech-choice in if there was a meta full of Hakkars, Bombs and Spiders but I do not belive it ever will in WIld. Everyone is so hyped about Thief Rogue archetype and I have never really enjoyed the decks much. I liked old Miracle archetypes and a recent Odd Tempo though. I am not going to craft Rogue legendaries golden this time.

If Warlock decks makes its way to tier 1, i would craft a golden Rafaam for sure!
I'd rather craft 2 normal legendaries instead of only crafting 1 flashy legendary for 3200 dust.
